  1. Love the graphic Billy! You should make a thread called "TIP: how to go dual EIB" ;-)
  2. What browser are you using? It looks mostly normal to me in FF3.5, but IE8 has some serious issues.
  3. That's not very useful. We'll have to work on that for sure.
  4. There's an RSS button next to the "View New Content" in the upper right of the page. Is that not working for you?
  5. One more update: ALL PM's have been migrated. We're done! The main item left is completing the skin conversion which will be completed over the next few days. Keep comments coming - they're all helpful!
  6. Is it the format, or just can't get to it (it's a png). Also, figured out the deal with the PM's and 14700 have been coverted.
  7. It will. Any change is different and we've had less traffic today than usual. Please feel free to chime in with any squawks about what's not working or you want improved. Known issues/changes still on the table: 1. PM's still being migrated, albeit very slowly. I have a ticket in to try to speed this up, but at the current rate we're looking it will complete in about a day for all 26,000 PM's in the system. 2. View New Content works a bit differently than View New Posts did. 3. Lots of IE8 problems. These will need to be addressed one by one. Most importantly we will get back to a silver/gray color palette that we all know and love. Black may be fine for other dets, but I think we all miss what we had before. Aaron (Synaptyx) is working on it this weekend (and Terrell as time allows). I know it's a rough transition, but I hope this preview (of the new content site) will restore confidence in our mission here, and Aaron's abilities: Thanks for your patience everyone!
  8. True - Aaron is working hard to get teh basics up at least. I'm still in the process of recovering PM's. 200 so far...
  9. You know, you guys can do other things while we're down. Here are some suggestions: 1) Enjoy the radiance of the yellow ball in the sky. It's called sunshine 2) Meet your kids! The trick is remembering their names. 3) Give your lady love some...er...flowers. Bet she hasn't had any in awhile, you Internet addict, you.
  10. All, FISD will be down tomorrow as we upgrade from v2 to v3 of the Invision software that our forum runs on. The plan is to be down from 10am-11am Pacific Time. However... 1. Upgrading may take longer if we encounter problems 2. The current FISD skin will be broken, and we'll have to use a new one. What this means is that when we bring the board up tomorrow it will have a different look and feel. Some of the customizations that we've grown used to like service awards, profile info, etc. plus custom menu commands will not be there initially. However the reality is that the current FISD skin is very customized and it didn't happen in one fell swoop either - it took hours of work over a long period of time to tune it the way we want. So, I ask for everyone's patience as we move forward on this. Thanks all, Paul
  11. They're still debating it over there, but for now they dont' have one. I took our EIB and modified it based on their CRL as best I could, then used some visual references to tighten it up even more.
  12. Nice! Thanks Brian Now next step, can we have it at different angles? I should have asked originally but forgot. This is certainly what Thomas (LCO) will request. Otherwise it's beautiful to me.
  13. I think we know *who* it's from, the question is in the (new) details, if you take my meaning.
  14. Actually vendor recommendations such as you are making are in the area for these parts. Items in the for sale area only by the person actually doing the selling.
  15. I was going to suggest a box cutter, but the TSA (US Trasportation Safety admin, aka airport screeners) took mine away. I was thinking of my grandma's sewing needles but alas the TSA took that away too. I was thinking water might soften up the box, but the TSA won't allow that either. I think a carbon fiber knife will do the job however, or underwear as these will pass airport screening.
  16. I think it's something we didn't think about when we put the EIB together. My take would be that a canvas belt would be EIB, but a shiny leather one be OK for CRL. Or, if the intent is to have the model be a shiny belt than the patent leather is the way to go for sure. The problem is that there have never been any real TX suits made for film. My $.02 would be to allow leather for CRL, canvas for EIB just for consistency across stormtrooper based costumes.
  17. Doh! My notes were wrong - opened again until tomorrow.
  18. OK, I just took it upon myself to close the poll as it expired earlier this week. Here are the results: Side gap shims plastic only - passed by a vote of 40 to 0 All EIB troopers will need to change/upgrade as necessary to comply - passed by a vote of 31 to 9 Troopers have 12 months to comply - by a vote of 21 to 19 In other words, as of now we will no longer accept EIB applicants with non-plastic side gaps. Existing EIB who have fabric side gaps will have 12 months to upgrade their suits or be marked as "inactive" on the EIB rolls. I'm updating the CRL & EIB now to reflect this change.
  19. The poll is in a different thread, and should be closed by now. Mark should announce the update, else I'll take care of it tomorrow.
  20. First Triple EIB *and* only the second ROTJ EIB. Quite the accomplishment! Kudos
  21. Outstanding TX! I think the only items that are not clear are the side gaps and ensuring we can see the split butt plate. Otherwise I think you've got all the bases covered. I'd like to point out for those that are unsure that: 1. No, FISD is not covering Stealth Trooper 2. This is an honory program for our Stealth brothers until such time as they their own "elite" program up and running As our own XO - SuperTrooper - is also a TX I'd like to ask that he review this to for a final thumbs up.
  22. Wow is right. You bring respectability to a TK variant that has historically had little respect. And, your attention to detail is amazing. Great job all around - it's inspiring to see
  23. Feb 2010 From out of nowhere Tom (RogueTrooper) has taken FISD by storm, in 6 months clearing over 750 posts. What's most amazing that instead of just "me too" type of posts, these have ranged from polls, helping people on build threads, much welcome research on stormtrooper nuances. The quality of his contributions and his positive and helpful attitude truly have embraced the spirit of "troopers helping troopers". I can think of no one person who's given back as much as he has recently. As such, I'm awarding Tom the FISD Service Award medal for outstanding service to the FISD community. Congrats Tom - it's well deserved!
  24. That is so cool of you Tom - these came out great! Is there anything you can't do?
  25. You guys are AWESOME Hopefually someone will photoshop some cool effects for you. What a great way to have fun in the snow.
