  1. I'd agree on that but one concern : holstering. If you never intend to holster the weapon (I never do) I'm not sure it's a big deal, but having that 7 pounder dragging on a belt and smacking in to your thigh... IIRC I think the only time we see an E-11 holstered in the movies is Han when he carries the DLT-19.
  2. Congrats Matt! It's been awhile since we've had a UKG EIB, and with your award you're #20 for that garrison. Great job
  3. Well done! Should be an easy pass. You new guys make us old ones look bad (and that's a good thing)
  4. Did you look at ATA, TE2, AP, or T/MC? All trace to screen derived helmets and are all troop-able. TM is a fan sculpt but also very ANH accurate. Also, RT altertered hi molds to add some asymmetry - you should check out his latest as well. I'll be at CV and will bring some ANH helmets...and maybe even a new RT.
  5. It's one of the many reasons we love you Mark : cheers
  6. Congrats EIB #120, and congrats to Spain and the Spanish Garrison
  7. Just by appearance the TKBoots are superior on many levels. The fact that they are cheaper too - one wonders why you'd buy CA if TK were in your size.
  8. Err...I think you're right Ryan.
  9. *If* the MRCE is already updated to 501st standards then there should be no need to do anything to the helmet. To make an MRCE correct to 501st standards you need to: 1. Put in ear screws 2. Replace the lenses with darker ones 3. Fill the seam below the mouth 4. Correct hovis 5. Correct tube stripes IIRC. For the FX kit it's not that hard actually. For a base FX kit it's just cutting the butt plate, getting a fabric belt, and correct ab plate buttons. All the rest of the EIB standards apply to more than just the FX kit. Other than that, it's just how you put it together.
  10. Hi Debbi, My condolences to you for your loss in what must be a very trying and emotional time. The hobby will always be here when you get back, but now is the time for you to care for yourself and your family at home. Keeping you in my prayers, Paul
  11. Pretty funny. You can spend a semester sitting in class or just watch this single video to learn quite a lot about key marketing concepts.

  13. Flawless! You make Terrell's job easy.
  14. May 2010 : I would like to award Mark Gage (FireBladeJedi) for exceptional service to FISD. The full citation follows and was posted here: http://whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=11246
  15. Your best bet is to just get a new set of shoulder straps, chuck the old ones, and glue the new ones in place in the front. This will cover the holes. For the back you can fill the holes as best you can and some touch up paint could work out.
  16. I can. Private 0 Corporal 25 Sergeant 50 Lieutenant 100 Captain 150 Major 250 Colonel 500 Commander 1000 General 1500 Field Marshall 2000 Grand Moff 3000
  17. Which - the painted black jodhpurs or TKBoots? Both are both 501st and FISD EIB approved, and they are both the most accurate boots you can get, e.g. one from a prop replication standpoint and the other from pure costuming. In fact, anything else is less accurate from either standpoint.
  18. Hot wire trimming? Is that a new TIP thread I smell?
  19. Fair enough - you'd be at least 501st anyway. Blast doors are open
  20. Big thumbs up Colin - you're looking great man
  21. Derrik - when I check your profile it says "no costumes found"?? All other requests are completed!
  22. There is also some inconsistency in how the blaster works. In ANH Luke says his gun is jammed and you see casings being ejected in some scenes. However in EU it's established that the blast is created by tibanna gas that gets charged and releases a energy bolt, thus there is nothing to get jammed. Which is why in the NT you don't see magazines as they are computer created, whereas in the OT they used gussied up real weapons. In the end it's yours to play with. The blaster cores that you see Pablo and others use add effects not seen in the movies, but to be honest make the weapons much cooler to troop with
  23. I tried doing it myself but it's a lot of back and forth in front of the mirror. It's much easier if you have two friends - one to hold the pieces on you and another to make the mark lines.

Noel (current MEPD DL) was trying to install some software and in doing so broke the forums. They're working to get it back online.

And even if so, it's up to the costume holders themselves to best decide what detachment they want to belong too. Only the 501st members who are sandtroopers can decide to keep MEPD open or merge, not any executive's decision. While as an FISD member I would not be against having sandy's in FISD, as a long time MEPD member and former MEPD XO I have to say for now I think sandy's are pretty happy to have their own det.
