  1. Wow - what a good looking couple
  2. Congrats!!! Pix of the happy couple?
  3. Martin - this is my bad and a typo. Closing the drop boxes should be a "should have" for EIB. I'll make that update now.
  4. That's the theory but not the practice Mike. Various parts are replaced or cleaned up from time to time. Some generations have better definition than others. Some are done with permission, some not. While they are similar, they are not the same, and while on the surface may appear equivalent are not. I've made my motivations for ensuring the differences are transparent & clear - I'm not sure what the motivation is for people to try to obscure these issues.
  5. Correct - this is why PT was banned and is a bit of an outcast. He flat out lied to TE2 about why he wanted to buy the armor then lied about it being TE2 recast at first. It was only in the face of evidence that he confessed. Had he recast CAP no one would have cared (except probably TE). He was told this, yet remains unrepentant.
  6. And also, closed drop boxes are not required for EIB, though they are recommended.
  7. Good idea. I think when we create binding, language altering changes to the CRL/EIB we should create ones for the Incinerator and Stormtrooper Commander as well. I think we need to be careful to ensure the language is such that it allows 'wear' and 'light weathering' to distinguish the techniques that should be use vs. what's commonly done on sandtroopers. If you look at the games and clones, it's a very different style than how sandtroopers look.
  8. Oops - somehow forgot the poll. It's added now.
  9. Here's a good one - should we allow weathered packs and pouches for the HWT? If you look at the screen caps you can clearly see that some of the suits are scuffed, and the pauldrons are a bit dirty too. I'm leaning to allow it as well as some very light weathering of the armor such as can be done via black wash. This is how Boss looks, for comparison. If the vote looks strong enough, I'll create a binding poll in the detachment area.
  10. I think the only thing I'm that may hold you up from EIB is the blaster, e.g. ammo counter & d-ring. D-rings are via Sonneshein or you can use a coat hanger and bend/paint, not entirely sure where the best places to get resin or real counters are anymore.
  11. EIB has must have's and should have's just like the CRL. The reason is that we don't want to make the EIB so high as discourage applicants, but do want a path for a higher level of screen accuracy should people want to go there.
  12. Mark - you are good to go I believe. Please post more pix of your kit - it looks really well done from the one shot I saw on the GML boards. I think we can re-word the CRL to ensure that it's more clear. The GML was thinking flat sole as in Fett boots which are 100% flat.
  13. Maybe. What you do is click the multi-quote button for each post, then use the Add Reply button. Using the fast reply won't work.
  14. At this point we're set except for TKC & ICN. We'll be scanning those EIB threads soon enough ;-)
  15. We go on about recasting for the reasons you well know Smitty. There is more to the recasting debate than TE derived armor. Are you saying it's OK to openly recast TM? I'd be shocked if you answered yes.
  16. Yes. Two stars is triple. This is analogous to the Combat Infantryman Badge http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combat_Infantryman_Badge
  17. You look great Al - a true credit to SoCal. I'm sure with the validation of the green lenses it will be an easy pass.
  18. Here are the stats: COMPLETED Doubles 1. Terry19D (ANH,ESB) 2. ThayNerd (ANH,ESB) 3. Chris H. aka TK-5069 (ANH,HWT) 4. TK Bondservnt (ANH,ESB) Triples 1. TK-J (ANH,ESB,ROTJ) IN PROGRESS Doubles 1. Daetrin (ANH,ESB) - just need the belt done 2. tkrestonva (ANH,HWT) - also almost done Triples ?? I'll also take it as an action item to update the EIB page to make this easier to find.
  19. Thanks again to Tray, Jesse, and the other members of the IPM who worked so hard on this. We must have gone through at least 10 iterations getting the details just right. I'm pretty stoked about these - my garrison is too small to do them too and the deal Tray is getting is simply the best. Certainly suiting up one more time to get those perfect shots! Thanks to everyone who pulled it together in the final stretch to make this happen!
  20. sorry to hear about this Nathan - I hope you make a speedy recovery. I think the car investment will be worth it my friend - in the end mass wins.
  21. You are the coolest, Chuck
  22. Congrats on making double - I'm just a belt away from joining you!
  23. The plan is for people to start at the Academy. There will be a list of build threads there per make. Actually, there's no reason why I can't start one for this area like we do TIPS/HOWTO. I'll work on that tonight after I'm done with CRL's.
  24. RT also re-did his molds - I'm in the process of trying to get updated pix.
