  1. Hmmm...well you got all the needed ROTJ elements down, which is a lot by themselves (e.g. thinner belt, inverted ab plate, edge trimming). This is probably the most detailed TK we have to get right, but running through the list I can't think of anything you missed at all, plus you got some bonus items. Terrell is out of pocket for a few days, but should return soon. You should be proud - it's a very well done costume
  2. Looks good Manu. Terrell will probably want to see the split of the butt plate below the belt more clearly, as it's not meant to be entirely hidden by the belt. He's been offline for a bit, but should be back to do reviews in the next few days.
  3. If money is all that you love, then that's what you'll receive... j/k - of course!
  4. You guys look awesome! Hope you don't mind if me and a garrison mate try the same effect? Also, I'll try to get pix of my hero lenses. I can troop for a few hours and they are just fine. Will be interesting to compare to see what the key differences are.
  5. Happy birthday dude!
  6. Great job Clay - I'm surprised that in-laws means more free time. Never works that way for me.
  7. But the prop is sweeeeeet.
  8. Also, I don't mean to trivialize your situation, but it's more that I think you'll find it worth it in the end... When you walk in to a small con and can't move for literally 20 minutes as your picture is taken... When you cause a little boy in a wheelchair to smile and his Mom cries for how happy he is... Standing with 20 other people in the same costume, just rocking the white armor... There are many other memories that are priceless that are created this way...I think you'll find the pain or armor building worth it
  9. I have to be honest I've yet to see a picture nor held one in my hands. Ward...you've been holding out on me - doh! I'd like to see it before offering comment.
  10. You're missing out dude. I have no skills either and two small kids, plus I work full time and my wife works too. I had someone in my local garrison help get me started on my first costume and then finished it myself. I paid someone to do most of the assembly on my next two, but one still has to do all the tweaks to get it dialed in, even if it means running home at lunch or hitting the garage after the kids to go bed (this is what I do. It takes longer, but it gets it done). I doesn't happen overnight, but it happens. Look, an ATA costume is only $400. What's the worste that can happen? You order a replacement part. I had to order new legs and a butt plate after bolo'ing the assembly on my first TE2. I took two vacation days to build my first sandtrooper backpack, but it was worth it. (and yes, I paid someone to build my second pack). There is a huge amount of tutorials on the site, but also having guys local in the 501st to help assemble it is priceless. It's like moving, the cost of a few pizzas can work wonders
  11. Look elsewhere. The person behind starfortressproductions is a paedophile with an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
  12. Rebel propaganda, pay it no mind.
  13. Let's rephrase this as 'barely legal' ;-)
  14. Want. Then again, my ideal helmet will have RomFx, speakers behind the aerators, PTT, ability to switch between vox or FRS, or even cellphone. Being able to take stills via this camera would be cool. Yeah, the helmet will be worth $1000 when done, but...
  15. Guys - we've had a few incidents lately. If you notice SPAM please report it to the FISD staff immediately. Sending me a PM is nice but won't ensure it gets tackled immediately. Sending a PM that includes the XO (SuperTrooper) and the Provost (tkrestonva) will ensure that at least one of us can hop on it and prevent it from spreading.
  16. Yeah, that's why I didn't order it. There is also... A really beautiful painting called "The Fallen" with Vader on the deck of the Tantive IV holding a saber with a rebel on the floor, flanked by TK's. Alas, the TK's have FX helmets. :-p A nice collectible by Gentle Giant with Boba leading Han in carbonite with TK's escorting. Alas, they are ANH TK's! You'd think the artists who are so talented would check the details. It doesn't take much effort on their part and would certainly cause some to buy when they would otherwise not. (OK, maybe it's just me?)
  17. Happy Birthday Mr. XO! I'm pretty sure you'll have a great day today so might as well kick it off right with some wonderful FISD best wishes. I mean, how many people get do to what you'll do on their b-day?
  18. For ANH Stunt EIB * Lenses should be flat green only. * There is no requirement for mesh behind the teeth, either for EIB or for 501st standards, though it's a common practice. * The EIB standards don't specify the number of rivets as a requirement, however the guidance is 2 for stunt and 4 for hero. This may be tightened up in the future, so it's probably best to follow the guidance. * Gloves: nomex gloves are fine for EIB. Rubber gloves are suggested but not required. * Latex hand guards are suggested but not required for EIB. ABS is fine. * The second d-ring on the blaster is fine for 501st acceptance, but...probably not for EIB. Our standards are not entirely exact - my guidance would be "no" as they are not canonically seen on screen in ANH, and could be categorized as an ESB detail. Does this help?
  19. Pretty amazing. That's transcended costuming into the realm of prop replication. Simply outstanding
  20. Very nice! It's great to see an animated grunt next to a TK to see an "evolution" of suits, and also how good the animated clones can look. And yes, Kevin is super cool
  21. This is open info, you can find it at--------
  22. Awesome for sharing Mason! Also, now you give me ideas on what do to with my wife's old breast pump
  23. I'd say either AM or RT, depending on your aesthetic. Not sure you can go wrong either way.
