  1. Even someone who hates deathtroopers has to salute the quality and detail of this workmanship. Truly top notch and deserving the highest of accolades. Get that boy at EI stat!
  2. Are they real nomex or fakes? I wore nomex in the Army with no bleed issues, and the only time I've ever had bleed on my black nomex was when they were completely soaked for hours. higher quality black nomex gloves go for 2x (on sale) to 3x the cost of that eBay item, which is probably why at a $13 price point your getting lots of bleed.
  3. Works for me - Centurion approved Congrats on being #18
  4. UA works great when you have something blocking the wind - however it has no wind resistance and thus any breeze you freeze. Fortunately this is true in summer - when standing with no breeze you can be very hot, but a little breeze will make it seem much cooler.
  5. Just the drop boxes - the stap that is showing just need to be shorted by 1/2. If you fix this and just re-take the pix of the belt, we should be good to go. Yes, it seems like a small nit but we've been pretty consistent on this, and it actually should have been addressed when you went EI.
  6. Hey Kevin - were you going to post updated photos? You're 95% there!
  7. Hi All - not sure how this was missed. I offer my sincerest apologies, as well as my hearty congratulations. Well done Luis - approved!
  8. Yes, Mason does try to respond w/in 24 hours, but he's lost Internet before and his area got socked with a huge snowstorm yesterday and they may not even have power now. I think it's an easy pass and will grant this myself. Congratulations Alan! Another victory for the UKG
  9. can't believe Mason hasn't responded - seems easy call to me.
  10. Saw your app on the GML main forums. You did a great job on the resize. My only comments were to replace that helmet some day and you could go EI I think immediately. Lastly, if you ever have the funds & time, getting some larger thighs like RT may help the overall look. Congrats James - you look good
  11. LOL - you look better than many in the Legion - it's a GML's dream.
  12. Wow, mistakes everywhere. I'm sorry, you'll have to junk the suit. I'm happy to dispose of it for you. j/k - it's amazing. Beautiful attention to detail and the armor fits you well. A truly exceptional job, especially for a first time build.
  13. For Centurion you do. Holster/drop boxes aside, a HWT is an ANH Stunt with accessories and so the standards are in lock-step.
  14. Amazing detective work Rich and these are details no one has ever surfaced in a detailed analysis. You make some excellent points on how we can improve our standards for ROTJ, and the supporting screen caps are much needed. I'd like to ask if you're willing, that you take the current CRL for ROTJ and create a new version based on your recommendations, e.g.strike-through text that you feel is not appropriate and use say green text for new addtions. When that is complete, it can be posted for final comments before creating a poll to ammend the standards. Does that sound like a positive path forward?
  15. Any kit can make a Centurion level TKC. In fact, dashrazor is in the process of completing one now out of ATA. It's just some kits lend themselves to certain EU troopers more readily is all. A CFO would take less work to make Centurion grade TKC, ICN, etc. IMHO the hardest part is not adding the ROTJ type details to the ATA, it's the painting. Getting the chest/back to look correct is not easy at all (at least that's what people who've done it tell me - I've not done this myself), and several helmets have been rejected because the face stripe isn't correct.
  16. If you get an EI-worthy E-11, you can remove the HWT accessories, add your drop boxes/holster, and apply for an ANH-Stunt EI too and get double duty out of the costume. Also, you are only the 4th HWT EI. A few mods, and you could be the first HWT Centurion as well.
  17. Here is what I'm seeing: * Your shoulder bells keep moving around. I'd suggest you get them strapped up to sit correctly and then re-submit a chest up shot (no need to fully armor up) * The right side gap looks greater than 1/2" to me. The only way around this is to suit up (legs not needed) and have someone hold a tape measure up on each side. I think you are otherwise spot on and you did a great job on your suit. I'm surprised about the first bullet as your GML should have caught that, or your photographer ** ** Then again, my wife has no idea what to look for and has taken pictures of me after I've been moving around and sometimes my left shoulder bell unpops. Very embarrasing. :-p EDIT: oh, and I'd move your shoulder straps down in front a wee more too, but that's just me.
  18. Agreed! This is notable not only for the Legion as ROTJ troopers are very rare (there are more TKC's than ROTJ's!), but also as an achievement in costuming and paving the way for others. Huzzahs, and pints on me
  19. He'd also need latex hand guards for Centurion - I didn't look at it at that level...first things first!!
  20. Aside from some adjustment issues I think it's pretty close. The drop boxes can be raised, but I'm not sure they are dangling enough to reject. We will need to see blaster shots to ensure it's up to code. Shoulder straps could be a little lower in front and it may be possible to trim the right forearms a tad. Mason should be online again to give a final call and may ask for more details. The blaster is a sure one he'll ask for.
  21. OK, I took a look at this and the only detail that I'd like to see is the shoulder straps to ensure they are not riveted to the ab/chest. Otherwise I think you're good to go for approval.
  22. I have. One trick is to velcro down the pauldron so it doesn't bunch up and hit the helmet. The second could be to add a wee bit of padding so your helmet sits higher. To me the latter is a last step - ideally you can fasten down the pauldron enough so it doesn't interfere.
  23. Locking,as this thread has derailed..
  24. Well poo on you Matt. I realize that for the UKG this was a big issue and perhaps for you personally as well. I think if you feel strongly about it you should have taken the initiative and created the memorial thread. It's unfair and unrealistic to presume that I as DL have to acknowledge every lost member in the Legion. Not everything has to be done by staff, and many of the best ideas are actually from the line members. This was the impetus to have the FISD Achievement Medal - to recognize and acknowledge members who took initiative for the betterment of all. Take ownership of this Matt - don't pass the buck.
