  1. Yeah, it's a TE2/ATA thing, I think. In the past I used RT shins. Mason made a killer mod to the left shin - I just need to find a way to keep it closed. Right now I'm using gaffers tape to keep the backs of the shins together. I'm 6'0" FWIW...
  2. I was digging through my drawer and found two that my old unit did. The first is our actual unit, just with a better patch IMHO. The second is pretty funny. Scout helicopters have no guns, so it was great they decided to have some humor about it: Anyone else have some from their days in the military?
  3. Sorry, it's the only one I have so far. Mason did a fantastic job on the kit, I must say. Only problem areas are the left shin & right forearm.
  4. Thanks everyone for the hearty congrats, but today is Mason's day. May he lead wisely, and with good friends to help him out. Present. Arms!
  5. Can't wait to see pix. The main part is you get 501st accepted. EI & Centurion are options for people who want to take it to the next level. Even if not 100% at either level, they are great guides to pimp out your suit.
  6. I 100% support Mathias for the next Deployment Officer.
  7. ATA may have a thigh solution for you soon, though I'll let him speak to that.
  8. And you Will, should feel also proud for blazing the way. As the Newton quote goes - standing on the shoulders of giants. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standing_on_the_shoulders_of_giants
  9. You should great a section for this in the unapproved costumes area. It seems too easy, and I bet someone will do it soon.
  10. I think it's outstanding Julie and far, far better than the Ironette Dancer. I agree on the mask could be smaller, but your rock this costume like no other. Be proud as Ms. Marvel - you wear it well. Congrats!
  11. I'm inclined to agree with Mathias. While they are very similar they are not the same. Theoretically you can take an ROTJ suit and add some paint and boom - you have an incinerator (not including the helmet & hand plates, as the ICN helmet /hand plates ares ANH based). However the same doesn't work in reverse.
  12. Morten - you are 100% correct. As Centurion is an add on to the Legion standards, it still has to be Legion approvable in the end. Flubs such as duct tape, crappy paint, etc. may be OK from a prop replication standpoint, but aren't as noted what was intended and not what one sees on screen when things are moving, and thus not allowed on a Legion approvable costume. However...in informal events you can do as you wish as long as it falls within your garrison's guidelines. For instance at a convention...
  13. Alas, it's one of the many things that had no meaning when he wrote the script, but people always try to add meaning to post-fact. Heck, Luke & Leia weren't intended to be siblings when he wrote ANH either. I mean, there were over 1000 TK's, so it's not like TK-xxx could cover all of them. Since it's all for fun - you're just as free to make up your own interpretation.
  14. Or put mesh and and not have a balaclava Centurion is meant to go after the most accurate Legion acceptable stormtrooper. There are a lot of flaws in the actual props that you can't see while watching on the big screen for the few seconds they are there, but people do see when freeze framing and zooming in on a BluRay. The Legion is about capturing what appears on screen vs. prop replication per se, so while we go down most of the path, you can't quite go all the way and have gaffers tape, crappy paint, etc. Matthias has the right of it when coming to lights - nothing visible and you're fine.
  15. Sorry I didn't say so earlier, but with the flu everything is foggy. I think the suit looks like crap. You can send it via airmail to me and I'll ensure that it's properly disposed of. j/k - looks awesome! You UK folks and your TM armor = awesome!
  16. That's a lot of Centurions!
  17. Oh, and it seems the wings of the chest may be able to be trimmed at the outside edges a bit, which may enhance the look. Still, small nit on a well done suit. You should walk pround
  18. The suit is well done. I think the forearms can slide down a bit as there is a lot of wrist exposed, but you have all the requirements nailed and then some. Your suit is looking really clean. I suggest more troops with the UKG are in order Congrats #204
  19. 1. What is LA armor? 2. Please don't put a sequence number in the request thread. That's something we do once someone has been approved and tracks approvals, not requests.
  20. Given the ratios, Nordic Garrison should feel pretty good: Members/EI = % UKG: 292 / 28 = 9.6% Florida: 328 / 12 = 3.6% Nordic: 109 / 12 = 11%
  21. Helps to have all the pictures in hand, and also a reminder of the build thread.
  22. Ugh - my memory is going. Geez, I'm just floored with the attention to detail. I agree with Billy H - the move to Lexan scissors has been a sea change for how TK's were built.
  23. Flawless. Unless I missed something, you hit all the requirements. Also, it's a fantastic build - did you do it yourself?
  24. We have 3. I just need to get my darn photos as I'm hoping to be #4. :-p
  25. Nordic is tied with Florida Garrision at 12 each EI, e.g. tied for second place. UKG has the most at 28.
