  1. Looking great Joey! That 1mm sure brings out the detailing. Nice and sharp. I'm sure it will be a simple pass, you are a TK veteran for sure!
  2. Nice! Congrats on your MTK and yes....take you time and research and ask questions with plenty of clear photos so that we can assist. I took about 4 months to complete mine over weekends and evenings. Gluing tends to make it a slow process but reversible. What type of glue are you planning to use?
  3. Well done Trooper TK-10446! Now on to some fine tuning and you will be ready for EIB and beyond... Adam
  4. Congrats Germain and thank you for all your advice with my build!
  5. Thank you Bobby and Toddo! Like everyone who has said it before.... It's totally worth it!
  6. Great to see another MTK hitting the streets! Not much to suggest other than what Ron said. I had to move the right shoulder bell forward on my MTK as well. Not sure if that just characteristic of the armor but same regarding the left bicep. This is what I did with mine. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/26919-my-first-esb-tk-build-mtk/?p=341132 Good luck with the EIB and keep up the great work! Love the action shot.
  7. Nice work, love the "damage" detailing. Good luck with the approval...
  8. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/27375-howto-draw-an-approximate-ear-trim-line-with-no-gaps/?hl=%2Bear+%2Btrimming#entry355019 I wish I saw this post regarding ear trimming when I did mine! I invested almost 5 hours on them!
  9. Great outcome Ian! Did your CO specifically state the top of the thighs or where it meets the shins? To my eyes and comparing to the screen shot, I don't see where the top of the thighs are the problem... Let's give your CO a chance to elaborate. Maybe if you can, copy what he responded with. Adam
  10. Good luck Steve with your approval! We will be ready to help with any fine tuning. Adam
  11. Tim if anyone deserves it...you do and will make it I'm absolutely sure of it!
  12. Howdy Anthony! Welcome to FISD you come to the right place to start your journey to the dark side! My reason I choose MTK initially was availability, cost was a close second. It was same reasons that you shared, for something I may wear a handful times in a year. Even though I would love to have a set of TM, I personally couldn't justify the expense with my Imperial Finance Committee I put in an order with ATA any way since he did not want a deposit and it was going to be 8-9 months wait time. MTK was about two weeks or less wait time but actually more in cost but came with the decals so it was almost a wash. Figured if I didn't like the MTK set, I would sell it, maybe take a hit for few bucks and wait it out for the ATA. However, when researching you will find that all armor makers have something peculiar about them that requires some attention. For many MTK builders, it's the left bicep and right forearm. I figured I would learn to make changes to mine that worked for me. Other than those details, building any armor will require a similar skill set. Being from the automotive industry gave me plenty in terms of problem solving and working with my hands. Figure if I can change a water pump and a timing belt on German cars, without any training. I could do just about anything with building armor. Key here is do plenty of research and don't be afraid to take your time. I took over four months and still finding things I would like to change even now. One goal is to be able to take stairs with full confidence I won't end up face down! Let us know when you are ready, we are all here to help. Adam
  13. Sorry for your loss Jaren. Take care of your family first, we will all be here when you are ready. I'm sure your grandparent would want you to finish anything that made you happy! Adam
  14. This is great motivation! I did something at my son's elementary school when I completed my armor but was waiting to submit for 501st approval. A local TK that introduced me to the FISD was willing to join me in this impromptu assembly of 3rd to 5th graders with the school district about being not being bullied into doing things that you shouldn't. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B440Rta1_FG5TFBXSGJ1UnRXN28/edit?usp=docslist_api (You may have to log into your Google account to view the video) The Vader was a high school volunteer so please don't take it too seriously, at least he had the height though. The 400+ kids had fun and that's what we do right?
  15. Wow..one of the first few of these builds, its sure to be a hit at the conventions or Halloween!
  16. Thank you Steve, you WILL make it. We are all pulling for you!
  17. Thanks Joey! Maybe at the United Airlines Family Day event? I plan to attend that one.
  18. Thank you Mathias! Great to be a part of the ranks!
  19. Hi Mathias, Maybe I got lost in the shuffle.... Thank you in advance and for the help getting me to EIB.
  20. Congrats Haui on your FX EIB! Looks sharp and that took a lot of work, you should be proud of yourself!
