  1. Almost there.... There wasn't a view from the back but from my experience with upper body fitment when building my MTK, may I suggest the following: lengthen the elastic shoulder bridge straps to allow the chest piece to come down a litle. Then tighten up the chest to ab straps so the overlap will not open as easily. Would you be able to drop the thighs down a little as well? Since you are a lot taller than me, this will give you more flexibility in the thighs to lower ab/cod area. As long as you are not binding behind the knees you may even find you could almost squat. Agreed with Steve on the drop box strap length. Should only have about an 1/8" of a gap between the top of the drop box and the bottom of the belt. If you riveted the straps then you may have to drill out the rivet and remount. Yes, the front of the ammo belt should sit a little higher. The top of the belt should align with the bottom of the lowest painted button or slightly covering it. Question. What kind of under suit are you wearing? It looks like a fitted cold weather type but not a compression. Remember, we all been where you are and it will only be a matter of time before you are ready to apply for your TK ID. Build with EIB or Centurion in mind and the rest will be simple. Have a great New Years!
  2. Tony, are you wearing ear bud headphones for the hearing amp? Have you considered this made for motorcycle helmets that integrate the mic and headphones? www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00PC4BUMG/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?qid=1419526798&sr=8-5π=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70
  3. Don't worry about showing your first fitting. This is the only way we can help with recommendations. My guess on your chest to ab plate overlap could be attributed to your shoulder strap length and possibly back to kidney plate strapping as well.
  4. I too thought the left bicep was out of shape. You may want to check out what I did on my build to address that left bicep. The link is underneath my signature, know me if you have any questions.
  5. Truth! Finding a hobby that a person can be passionate about and finding others that share that same enthusiasm, is very rare indeed. IMO, what's unique about "Bad Guys doing Good" is how we all come together from very different walks of life, different experiences, and yet we find a common bond, a goal larger than all of us put together. - This is a true definition of the Force. ("its in you, me...it binds the galaxy together..." ) Nothing feels closer to being a Rock Star than when in character. People need and want us there to help, a calling bigger than any of us. You are welcome Diana! It helps for us to be vertically symmetrical, this helps our Vader look taller! Here Diana (right side of the photo) and I are flanking Lord Vader at one of the most unique weddings I ever attended... Vader did give away the bride and... Yes, Yoda did officiate the wedding... United Airlines Family Day was a lot of fun. Diana, yes it was about 1 1/2 hours making our way to the fence where the jets were parked and 2 hours on the tarmac taking at least 300 photos, but hey look at the kind of photos they were getting... It was the 30 minute trip back to the staging area that I thought was most tiring...I don't think we could have walked more than 20 feet at a time without being asked to have pictures taken. We were hot (temps in the '90s), sweaty, tired, hungry and I didn't know about you but my feet hurt. But hey, we were there for the fans of Star Wars right? Didn't mean to thread jack, but glad to have made your friendship and look forward to our next troop!
  6. Welcome to the MTK family Brian! I haven't seen the revised one up close but when you are ready, please share some detailed shots of your armor. Have you noticed the left bicep being larger than the right and the right forearm larger than the left? Adam
  7. Hey Diana, I think I have a solution to getting your husband to join the 501st! It combines what he loves and what you love! Scuba Clone Trooper! I know it may not be the most common but that's the beauty of it! How many will we ever see?
  8. Congratulations Scott! Job well done!
  9. You can repair it! That's beauty of plastic. Just get through the rest of your build and then go back over the details. Soon you'll be trooping!
  10. Love it! Keeping an open mind...what's new is new. What's old is well....vintage! Remember there is a whole new generation that has different expectations of that is Star Wars... Some will like the the originals and there will be those who will embrace the new with open arms. I will be one of those even though I saw the originals in '77...
  11. Question...how flexible is the back support belt to thigh support? Any armor bites? BTW..the left bicep looks great!
  12. Ian! Buddy! Congratulations and yes we get speed bumps sometimes, but we make it happen. Just like my shoulder bell to bicep straps...which the ESB CRLs clearly state are not part of the requirements for EIB or Centurion but I was held back because of it. However, whether its pet peeves or personal bias its not our call but our choice whether to continue or not. Glad to see you made it past the College of Approval part 1! Now get out there and make your Garrison proud! Next stop...EIB and beyond. Adam
  13. Getting there... Slow and steady wins the armor race!
  14. Congrats Rick but we knew it would come to this. Hope to see you soon on a troop... Another tall TK. What's a vertically challenged TK to do around here to find others close in height?
  15. Look great Rick! Best of luck but I don't think you will need it. Love the action/parody shots!
  16. Hi everyone, When my co-worker who visited Seattle just last week and shared this image he took at the Space Needle, I didn't know whether to be sick or embarrassed. To say the least, my co-worker knew it would ruffle my feathers. Considering the amount of work everyone did on their armor here and to see someone taking advantage of our good name to make some $$$. To make things worse...the SL isn't even a person. Its a mannequin! Check out the new knee mounted holster! Let the flaming begin... and if anyone lives near the Space Needle. Time to send a garrison there and take this imposter out!
  17. Congrats and your timing couldn't be better. You have enough time to complete your build and get a troop in or two to work out the bite/pinch points. Have fun!
  18. Congratulations! Hope to see you soon at a troop!
  19. Congrats and being part of the approval process!
  20. Well, it sounds like you want to try this and I don't see why not as it doesn't take away from the CRLs or anything. Plus for anyone 3 feet away or more, it wouldn't make a difference. But I did find some on Amazon if you are still looking. http://www.amazon.com/Online-Metal-Supply-Aluminum-Perforated/dp/B00NR30NX6/ref=sr_1_3?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1416522056&sr=1-3 Good luck and share with us your install experience! Adam
  21. Thank you for sharing Chance. I guess since that thread wasn't very recent, the got buried. I did email Niko and waiting to hear back from him.
  22. Hi Steve, Just a thought...on the shin back elastics, instead of changing them if you are happy with them other than the color, why not just dye them? But if you already replaced them, then never mind.
  23. Hi Eric, The one I would recommend on this website are the mic only ones. I have yet to source any other company other these on ixradio and one made by Califone that makes a mic only version. Let us know what you decide on! Adam
  24. Hmmm..Went to a dead link for me - sent me to www.evike.com/products/500761 But looking around found it for $275 pre order. Copy/Paste URL www.evike.com/products/50076 So text is correct but leave off the / Wonder how much would just the metal shell and trigger assy go for?
