  1. Honestly I couldn't tell you because I went with the regular heavy duty snaps from Joanne Fabrics for the belt because they were hidden behind it, I chose not to go screen accurate since I had a supply of them. Are they pulling out of the belt or simply not staying snapped together?
  2. Hahahaha! Tony is our garrison's local go to supplier!
  3. Another ESB for the ranks! Awesome. Keep up the great work and just remember to not rush if uncertain. Soon you'll be trooping with the rest of us plastic space men and women!
  4. Keep in mind, you can use the elastic hand plate straps on rubber chemical gloves but need to be stiched in the 5 point pattern if using silk gloves for ESB Centurion
  5. Looking great! Can't wait to see more! Awesome to have another ESB for the GGG!
  6. That's awesome! Definitely let her know. Has anyonr been Legion approved in the smallest one?
  7. Hey everyone,<br><br> We have a new recruit for our garrison and she is committed to earning her TK status. Challenge is she is a petite 4'11". Looking at all the current vetted offerings it appears that even the smallest armor probably wouldn't scale down well. <br><br> I believe Walt'so 80% TK would fit her best, but the question is can his kit be basic Legion approved?<br><br> Let me know for sure before we make our recommendation to her. We are open to other suggestions as well.<br><br> Thanks
  8. Hey Mike, Coming along. You are moving at a much faster pace then when I did mine. 1- Webbing 1 in wide ( black) I found some at Joannes today just wanted to make sure that it doesn't have to be a specific thread count or anything ? - no specific thread count. Are these going for the sides of your back and Abs? 2- White elastic for shoulders not sure of the width ?? - I used some 1" wide elastics I found at Walmart. Just remember to fold over the ends and sew them before attaching them.<br> 3- Ordered rivet set from Echo , do I need any more ???? - The side rivet sets from Echo is enough to complete your armor. 4- Returns on bicep remove on bottom leave a little on top? - I would leave some return on the bottom of the bicep to give the illusion of thickness. The top of the bicep would depend on whether or not they are visible from under the shoulder bells. Take a look at this ESB screen capture to see what I mean. This TK has some really long arms that the biceps tops are peeking out from under the shoulder bells, so if you are like this guy, then Yes, I would leave some return edge. Otherwise, if you remove them no one would see it anyways under the shoulder bells.
  9. Looking good Mike. You are definitely on your way. You may want to take a peek at Trooper Bay for the ESB helmet decals. The number of stripes and color is slightly different. I would recommend thinning the return edge on the bottom of the shins. No need for it since it is so low to the ground and plus it will allow the bottoms to be better fitted to the tops of your boots. Plus no horizontal edge digging into the boot as well.
  10. Congrats and another MTK to the ranks! Great job trooper!

  12. It could be the iComm battery. Mine is about 22 months old minimum and before replacing the battery in the iComm, it would constantly click even with the slightest input from the mic. How old is yours?
  13. Looking great Mike. Be sure to secure the front of both thighs first and leave the rears uncut. Then with the help of your kids, have them fit it to YOUR thighs while wearing your undersuit. Reason is compression clothing will change your size slightly, thus altering the fit. Everyone's body shape is different, but if you can, try to taper the thighs to the knees. Of course not too small so that you can't get your foot through them. This will go a long way to getting the fitted look. You want to try to avoid having lower thighs that look like "bells" or too much wider than the top of the shins. Keep up the slow and steady pace, the finish line will be here before you know it.
  14. Hi Mike,<br> They look about right, but it's all about how they fit on your arms. I personally believe armor isn't designed to be a second skin but it shouldn't look like there's room for a jacket either.<br> The wrist area should have all the return edges removed and a small lip on the elbow side to give the illusion of armor thickness.<br> Keep up the great work and take your time!
  15. The vendor, IX Radio is looking in to producing a portable PA amp / throat mic set up available soon as well as another throat mic that is designed for costume use. I was last told to expect the portable PA amp at the end of October and the costume throat mic towards the end of the year. We shall see.
  16. Hi Omar, Did you mean this post? http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/6515-how-to-wire-the-firefox-throat-microphone/ What kind of pin connector is on your throat mic?
  17. Great to see your build on FISD Mike! Plus another ESB TK for our garrison too <br> I think you are on the right track so far. The helmet is the toughest part and rightfully so, as it is the one part people look at the most, so just take your time.<br> Any slight over paint can be cleaned up with the tip of a toothpick dipped in paint thinner if necessary. That's what I did to sharpen up any details.<br> The ears should be fine for basic 501st approval. Keep up the great work.
  18. Dave, I may have a member in our garrison looking for some. PM me the details including shipping to San Francisco Bay Area 94577 so I can pass it on. Thank you
  19. I think the price went up in the past two weeks. I too saw it for $195 less than two weeks ago.
  20. Incredible showing of what it means to have a team effort. The passion, enthusiasm, and mentoring truly shows in this and other team builds that you are doing Walter. I am proud to share the same garrison with you.
  21. Yes, as many have shared. Most people builds share their height, weight, and even measurements on their builds. As everyone is built differently, no two builds are spec'd out the same. This is why off the shelf kits like Rubies are ill-fitting and flop around when moving. <br><br> Think of this, if you had a choice between a suit, which one would fit best? Off the rack, a used taylored or a custom tailored one?<br><br> You can do itd
  22. +1 for elastics, mainly for comfort and some stretch. But yes, it's the builder's choice.<br><br> Keep up the pace and there are plenty of reference material in previous builds.
  23. Well said. The choice of strapping will definitely determine the amount return edge. When in doubt don't over trim.
  24. The inner strips don't have to be the 1.5mm ABS, I used some thin polyethylene plastic, similar to the kind on those plastic for sale signs. No one will see them from the outside. Keep up the great work!
  25. Hey Dave, congrats on joining us other MTK owners. Since you are planning to use the metal brackets be sure to allow for the bolts and nuts on the return edges. Too shallow and you won't have enough of a lip to mount the brackets properly also you run more of a risk of cracking from the holes for the nut and bolts. Keep a chin up, blade down, and the ABS dust flying. You'll get there before you know it.
