  1. I watched The Force Awakens again yesterday and Rogue One doesn't even remotely compare to it. In terms of emotional impact, characters, story line, I choose TFA over R1 every time.
  2. The fact the shoulder bridges should be secured to the chestplate with rivets, or if you really want to start on the wording, by visible fasteners (this way you cover the guys who will inevitably want to overthink things), is a no brainer to me. There are plenty of pics showing those rivets, wether before or after the shooting of the film. And even if they are not like 4K close-ups pics of the bridges, if you have a minimum of brain and working pair of eyes it's pretty obvious. Even the simple fact of understanding how the whole suits were assembled together leads to this end. The ROTJ armors use several pop rivets in various other places, wether it's for the sniper knee plate, for the belt, the ammo pack on the thigh, the holster, ...
  3. Yes, just like Scouts on Endor are troopers wearing gear more appropriated to ride a bike. Initially standard stormtroopers were supposed to ride those bikes:
  4. Definitely a scout to me in its look and inspiration. I mean, look at the helmet, look at the chest plate... if you can't see the lineage, you're blind as a bat.
  5. Ponda Baba & Dr Evazan's cameo! I wasn't aware at all of that, and it got me laughting out loud during the viewing! I found that real funny and a nice wink to the fans .
  6. Haha, let the fight begin! I perfer the episode VII over this prequel. Had to watch it in french dubbing for my first viewing, and it was so bad that I had more than mixed feelings about the film at the end, but the second viewing with the english voices was way better and I enjoyed it way more. Very nice film for me. I'm not a fan at all of the montage of the film though, especially during the first half. Too many cuts from one group of charaters to another to my taste. And I'm very much blown away by their CGI Carrie Fisher and Tarkin... Impressive!
  7. The word for me is that the original stormtrooper armor was sculted by true artists, when every iteration of this armor that came after was made by people without any aesthetic talent, and thus looking worse than the cheap vac formed armors made in 1977. No matter the amount of extra details or the crispness of those details, if the overall look of the armor is bad, the result will be too. And that R1 armor is totally missing the spot... Well at least Brian Muir saved the Vader costume from the garbage they pulled for ROTS. Too bad they didn't ask him to also take care of the stormtrooper...
  8. But that's only where the fun begins! More seriously, moving parts are always a challenge indeed. Especially when you need to keep clearance in mind because real prints are never as accurate in dimensions than their computer alter ego
  9. Visual CRLs are definitely the new way to go in my opinion. These old, grimmy and hard to understand for new comers lines of requirements are more and more proving to be useless. We now have the ressources to make and upload visual diagrams/pictures for practically all points of the CRL. It has already been done by other detachments and this is a much easier way to explain and show what you are talking about.
  10. I don't think so at all. Basically this new kit is correcting all the flaws the prototype had. The detonator is much more accurate for example.
  11. I would buy one if I wasn't oversea. And I guess they have moved to full aluminium bucks, and that the vacuum forming must be handled by the same guys who are doing the OT stomtrooper. So we can probably expect much sharper details than the first armors.
  12. !!!! Wow, I'm just blown away by the quality of your pulls. Well done guys, this is by far the best fan-made Shore trooper armor made.
  13. Wow, that's awesome!! Great job Fernando! I thought it would be another lame thread from someone winning about "I want to make this costume, where do I buy it?! "... But you're really doing your part of the job and looks really good.
  14. Good point. Let's just say that I'm so gutted by this R1 stormtrooper that I can lose my temper very fast on the matter. And like you say, I'm not bothered by the additional details incorporated into the armor. Those changes had to be done, and they are quite nice. If I truly despise this armor it's only for its lack of aesthetic because of how they changed the basic shapes of the armor/helmet.
  15. Truthfully? I hope no one is working on a Stromtrooper R1 armor and that no one will ever be, considering how awful it is. About the helmet, someone started an interest thread over the RPF but interest was kinda low. I think the member was Reelprops in collab with TheRocketeer.
  16. You still bring out an interesting point with the "fabric cod piece" thing. If you have clear pictures of that I'd be interested to see them, because to be honest I don't believe it. The codpieces for the TFA troopers are split from the abdomen and aren't strapped with the buttplates, so I don't see any need to replace them with fabric ones for mobility.
  17. Too slow my friend http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/36902-did-you-know/
  18. Or maybe with "PropShop" going bust he's been hired by Disney for the Episode IX
  19. The weathering you did on the blast shield is to me your best of the entire helmet. Those very subtle grey scratches are so realistic and so well "randomized"... They totally sell the thing. Truly beautiful!
  20. Congrats on your Centurion Manny! You did a fantastic job with the armor. But god.. I must say I really cried when I read about that shin "advise"... Too bad you were so fast to follow it before true experts could told you not to do that.
  21. Very nice picture indeed. Wish it was a Death trooper though But is the scope rail broken, or is it normal?
  22. That's so nice . But now you got us all curious and we want to see it bounce!
  23. This prototype is incredible! How has it been created? It can't be vac-formed parts...
