  1. Sorry to ask here, but since when EIB and Centurion levels were created and where are the threads? Changes to CRLs are supposed to be debated and voted by the whole FISD community and not just the staff before being applied.
  2. We had the same at Paris Comic Con too. Two Executioners, one Phasma, two Pretorians, and three TFA stormtroopers. Neat statues!
  3. I have one of these too, and yours is in great condition. Did you get the box and the sling with it too? There are so many differences between the MGC and the Sterling L2A3, but the one that surprised me the most is the difference of size between the Outside Diameters of the barrels.
  4. Most important thing I notice is that this blaster was cast from a mold and not 3D printed like all the TFA blasters. This probably explains the reason of that extra flashlight by the way. They had to add it because they were probably unable to make the former system work with casting. The handle is also looking different. Much slimier, with a weird cut-out to the back. Overall, this blaster is probably better suited for screen-use, but doesn't look as clean and sharp as the ones from TFA. I like the sling mounts though. One really funny thing is that the white cap on the magazine is glued on backwards! Haha, I wonder if all the blasters in the film will have that same issue.
  5. Yoke, (or should we say inner chest plate?) should be full across the chest. You can see it, or what appears to be it, on the lower left corner of the picture.
  6. Good you did that post Tom. I was currently trying to defend your work the exact same way you just did, with one of the staff member here by PM. Some people like to see recast where there's none, but close their eyes when it's blatant...
  7. It would required a fool to buy a Jim helmet when you can get a TDK! You're right on your choice Darren
  8. Probably approvable "out-of-the-box", but it's worth pointing that the ANOVOS guys have been really lazy and greedy for the TLJ helmet. To save on cost instead of making a whole new helmet, they only changed the black inlay to add the teeth, and the nose plate. But as a result, their frown is not perfectly accurate to the screen-used helmets because it is not pointy enough.
  9. I built one few months ago but never finished it. Vacforming is possible, but there are lots of details that would be very hard to catch though.
  10. Guys, you're doing such a good work! All those blasters look fantastic.
  11. Or maybe those boxes got ripped over the different takes like the ones on Finn's armor.
  12. Welcome back Ken! One quick question: is France anywhere near your area?!
  13. Top and bottom blades don't seem offset either. I guess it was only an optical illusion caused by how the distance between the top and bottom blades is different on each side.
  14. There's nothing in Luke's armor that doesn't fit the CRL. Doubled up parts are fine, otherwise all us guys with AP armor wouldn't be approved either. And shortened armor parts are fine too. People shortening their thighs to better fit their height is common, and it goes the same for the chest and back plates. For instance, she shortened her chest and kidney plates on her RS build and she got approved. Having a return edge or not where you shortened the parts doesn't matter.
  15. Hey Clint, Check on "TDK Props" on Facebook. They just showed 3D renders of their upcoming TLJ helmet and this one is very promising.
  16. You could probably make all the extras revertible. The whole scope rail & hengstler unit shouldn't need anything else but the rear screw to hold, the power cylinders can be magnet to the magazine, and the T-tracks would probably hold on their own if only pressure fitted to the barrel (if not, one or two drops of e6000 or similar glue would make them easy to remove).
  17. You nailed that wrinkled finish! Subtle just how it should to make it pop. If you remember, I'd loved to know about the different layers of paints you applied to achieve that look.
  18. Haha, that stormtrooper on screen might very well have the exact same height as you indeed. Congrats on your UKG clearance! It's well deserved.
  19. As far as I can tell, these blasters are identical to the ones we saw at Celebration VII. That means that in terms of accuracy, dimensions of the parts, etc... It's actually quite good! The only downside to me seems that the material used for casting isn't the sharpest of all, and that you lose some definition on the finer details. But on the other hand you get something very durable and lightweight which is excellent for trooping purpose. About the orange color, it's probably for legal purpose I guess. If they want to ship these to all the countries they are currently shipping to, they don't want half of them to get seized at custom. So by making it fully orange like that, it becomes a "Toy" instead of a "firearm replica" and should have no problems at customs (I think to be considered as a toy, a weapon as to be more tanh 60 or so percent orange).
  20. Yes, beautiful 3D model. Looks better than the Backstage Props to me! I'm looking forward for when the prototype will show up
  21. That's strange because I had this topic opened with the FISD/engraved theme. After reading this, I opened a new FISD page and changed the theme to the Default one to see what it looked like, and when I got back to this topic (still with the FISD theme) the "Like" option had showed up in all the posts. Edit: I tried but can't seem to reiterate it
  22. What jumps at me the most is how straight the nose plate line above the teeth appears to be, and how curvy it looks on your model. That's funny because I did the exact same comment on the "Backstage Props" helmet. I don't know from where it comes, but it seems 3D modelers are all doing the frown quite curved when it seems very straight to me.
