  1. Great job Erick, good luck once again
  2. Great to see you are back to the build, real life comes first and our hobbies are always there to come back too, nice work.
  3. The finer sandpaper you can use the less chance of scratching the surrounding surfaces, but ABS paste is not the easiest to sand so using a little coarse to start off with is a good option
  4. I found it does quite some time to fully cure, the longer you leave it the easier it is to sand. Started out using course sandpaper then swapped to wet and dry from 240 grit up to 2000 at the end, use soapy water too it helps cut down the sandpaper clogging
  5. Hello and welcome aboard, when in doubt check the gallery section, all the references you will need are there. Good luck, looking forward to the progress
  6. You've got this well in hand, nice work
  7. Nice work trooper a few images the DO's like to see are: * Front and both sides of the knee sniper plate * Thigh ammo strip rivets outside and inside * TD showing front panel * D ring on rear of blaster * Closeup of shoulder straps (front and back) * Closeup of your hand plates * Closeup of belt * Closeup of boots A couple of things which you may want to address before the DO's see your application and these are observations not requirements: Your belt is very frayed, although you can have some fraying it is a lot and you may be asked to change it but you can wait to hear what the DO's say. Also ab is overlapping kidney plate. TD not clipped in properly Butt plate hanging or being pushed downwards perhaps tighter strapping Normally stunt helmets the brow is a little higher and Hero version lower, but again wait to hear what the DO's say Your thighs need to come up, you have a big gap between them and the cod Watch the ab and kidney plate alignment at the tops as they are stepped here Your shoulder bells appear to be sitting under the chest plate, you may want to try bringing the shoulder bells inward at the top to the shoulder straps, this may change the angle of them or you may need to trim them on an angle so they sit better. Also biceps are not quite level. There is a section on the top lip of the kidney plate pulling or sticking up, also your right calf does not appear to be central or closed properly. Again you can see the shoulder bells behind the back plate. You could trim a little of the ends of the brow trim, most references stop just before the ear Blaster appears bent? A few tweaks and you'll look great, good luck with approval
  8. I've heard they may be local for Triple Force Friday 4th October
  9. Nice work trooper, good luck with approval
  10. You may find the color is off, there can be a color difference between the different makes of armor, I'm not sure how different it is between ATA and WTF You could also ask ATA for another set I know he will send out spares
  11. Nice looking helmet, could you also add pricing please and just a fyi no payment to be accepted before sale item is ready to ship. For Sale Rules: 10) All merchandise including armor must be "in-hand" and ready to ship before accepting payment. Interest threads are allowed to determine selling order. 11) Sale items must be listed with an asking price. This does not exclude OBOs (Or Best Offer) and price negations, but no open priced sales.
  12. I love trooping with my Hasbro conversion, although not as accurate as my other blasters is light, has sound and lights and an amp jack so it's pretty loud, great for trooping with for those long troops, arms hardly get sore A few other names which have come up recently: Sheartech Quest Designs Praetorian Blasters Fieldmarshall
  13. Much better, you will be amazed how much that little extra on the insides of the eyes makes your vision so much clearer, you could even go a little more in the smaller corners near the nose, but entirely up to you. Here's a screen helmet for comparison
  14. Cover strips should be either rounded or cut on angle on both tops and bottoms Most use ABS paste for any gaps but it you want to fill and paint that would be ok also.
  15. Very nice, you will hate me @echo327, one more thing, ab plates aren't rounded on the edges and could be trimmed a little more, could still go a little smaller on the buttons too
  16. More the less the same, there are a few details which are different and both CRL's have undergone updates recently, have a compare of the ANH and ROTJ CRL's http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:FISD_CRL Also have a read through this comparison sheet https://drive.google.com/file/d/10tEVteIreh6AHMogW010cuH_Bf8TBfU6/view
  17. No you don't need to repost your updates here if you don't want, it's just nice to do so to show others your improvements. GML's can ask for minor adjustments even though you have been given info here, this pre approval is just a way to iron out some tweaks before you submit to your GML, it is they who have the final say You will also need to fill out a 501st application (if you haven't already) you can find that here http://www.501st.com/members/join_form.php and also pick out 5 combinations of numbers for your TKID Good luck and hope to see those numbers soon
  18. After trimming you can use a long block of wood with sandpaper wrapped around to help make the cut a little straighter. Adding a piece of scrap ABS plastic behind with also help.
  19. Congratulations trooper and welcome to EI
  20. Hi Tim you may be interested in having a read of this http://www.starwarshelmets.com/Return-of-the-jedi-stormtrooper-comparison.htm
  21. Looking good nice work.
  22. Think that was a typo, I think it should have said butt plate not cod, here is the full thread by the same poster Paul (previous DL of many years)
