  1. Definitely don't add mobility cuts unless you have fitted all of your armor, I've seen these cut out too many times on troopers that didn't need them and they end up with huge gaps between the back of their knees

  3. A bit above is usual, really depends on your height, I'm 5'11", some photos would help
  4. Hello and welcome aboard, nothing better than BBB's, looking forward to seeing your build, good luck
  5. I posted that info in his build thread and an etsy seller
  6. Congratulations trooper and welcome to the ranks once again
  7. Just try to tape and fit, if it's too tight or looks like you will have a gap leave it
  8. This is why I say you would have to check the fit if you were looking at trimming down. The reference image does show the top of the thigh tapering outwards but on closer inspection of your thigh it does appear a little wider than the reference. I would tape the thigh again reducing the size of taper and check how much room you have, if it's too tight you could just leave it the way it is. Yes the original molds were a little off in places but these were made by hand on a very short timeframe and if you think back to what was being made back in the day this would have been ahead of it's time. Here's another members RS thighs for comparison
  9. To me it looks like you could have trimmed a little more of the left side (comparing with archive images), but that now depends on how tight they are on your legs. I would check with your boots and shins on as well as your thighs, you may be able to bring the thighs down a little, you do get some restrictions while walking, thighs and around the knees.

  11. Having a coverstrip inside and out is normally enough, when you think about it the thigh does not get any pressure on the joints, the only one that does is the shins as they are opened and closed. A second coverstip inside is a little overkill, a lot of people don't even use internal coverstrips and don't have any issues
  12. Belt should definitely help you close the side gap. Bit hard to see howyorpackplaye is sitting at the top with your arms up, you could try slightly tighter strapping, may help close that gap
  13. Coming along nicely. For some reason the forum does not like Imgur videos, if you want them to show try using YouTube as there are no issues with them showing
  14. It's worth the extra work and wait, look a lot better in the end
  15. You also need this link to your legion membership profile https://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=31409
  16. Great decision Chris, a clean move forward and something you can be proud of to call your own work
  17. Great work, looking very crisp, looking forward to seeing these kits out in the wild

  20. It's not rocket science Just watch the angle of the coverstrips. Here's my RS TFU thighs for comparison (note left rear is twisted)
  21. Congratulations on your second version of this costume, well done
  22. Congratulations trooper and welcome to the EI ranks
  23. Have you read the Getting Started section, info in there for armor suppliers. For building a lot of people post build threads, a great way to get feedback and check how your build is going. With covid restrictions building online has been a bit more important as many have not been having armor build days.
