  1. I have been studying HD screencaps and it is impossible to state for certain either way. For my ROTJ suits I will offer vac formed and a latex or flexible resin alternative. Personally I think they are a more flexible material than ABS, but that is just an opinion. @ Nassik John's suit was not made at the time of ROTJ, it was made before during or after ESB with haircell plastic so this can't be used to substantiate anything ROTJ. It was not made at the same time as all the other ROTJ suits. Joe
  2. Me too Rob! I am having a one off one custom made, it is costing a fortune but will be movie accurate. I will look into doing a run in the future. With regards to size I have the info somewhere and will check and post it up. I think they are approx 12-14mm in diameter.
  3. This thread is about the snaps Stefan or it would have been titled 'hard hat liner'. No-one has found the liner to date. There are no markings on the original that can help to identify it.
  4. Although there are not as many ROTJ fans as ANH on here I hope this is of interest to some people. It was asked in another thread what the brand on the snap/popper on the chin strap was. This was shared a few years back on the RPF, but for those who didn't catch it here is a picture. I don't know if the same brand was used on the ANH helmets, hopefully someone can chime in with that information. The brand is 'Newey England'. Joe
  5. Thanks for sharing Rob. Just don't let him go near it with anymore black paint or sandpaper. You lucky fellas seeing it in person, I bet you all had an amazing time. Seeing original stuff in person is very cool and makes you realise how santised most of the replicas are. Joe
  6. Rolfe I am really sorry to hear this, my son is 9 months old and it is hard work looking after them, it must be doubly hard on your own. I will send you a pick me up gift, pm me your address details. Joe
  7. edit for being a ****
  8. I agree Rob, I reckon there are loads more castings and original helmets out there. Also remember that TE cast two ANH helmets, the Brian R face and cap and the SFS ears and he scanned the SFS. Joe
  9. Actually there are a few more. TE copied a ROTJ from the outside, which is where his ROTJ and GINO's moulds come from. Jason Joiner also moulded an ANH Stunt from the outside and there are casts floating about. Another person cast an ANH Hero from the outside and these are also floating about somewhere. Someone I know on another continent has 1st gen moulds of a ROTJ background helmet, although they have never been released to the public. Mark and I also own the Cameron Oakley helmet moulds which were cast from the outside of an original ROTJ helmet. This new ANH helmet will be cast I am sure, if only for the current owners use. There must be more but these are all that I know about. Joe
  10. Yeah me too, I love these useful drawings!
  11. ROTJ had mainly green bubble lenses and flat lenses for some of the Endor Stormtroopers. For ANH the stunt helmets had flat green lenses and green bubble lenses for the Hero helmets. ANH Hero (in the foreground) (Stunt in the background) ----------
  12. Happy Birthday Pete. Joe
  13. Fair point Gary, I didn't mean to be harsh but these things have to be treated delicately behind closed doors, well if you want to secure them without paying a fortune. I know this from experience. Anyway spilt milk now. What is good is that the pictures can help with our quest for movie accurate suits. Joe
  14. Actually we knew about this a long time before it was posted on the UKG. Thanks to a friend who will remain nameless. A number of 'jokers' were suggesting contacting LFL. The guy who posted it to the UKG forums ruined it for everyone, as it probably wouldn't have been so prominent before that. The issue now is that a simple google search and any owners will realise the value of these items, and their are collectors out there that are willing to offer hundreds of thousands of pounds. Joe
  15. Looking good Chris, well done. Joe
  16. Cornellis If you need a ROTJ bucket I have one left that is cast from an original helmet $250 shipped.
  17. There will be other accurate armour and helmets With direct screen lineage both ROTJ and ANH/ESB. We are working on it. Well done Pete, this is really really top notch work.
  18. Awesome work Keith. It really captures the film look, and your assembly and trimming are flawless. What material did you go for inside the mic tips?
  19. Well said fellas. Joe
  20. Here here really useful tips Tom. I am painting a helmet now and this is really useful.
  21. Simply outstanding work fellas! Someone should paintshop them into the elevator with Chewie..... Joe
  22. Happy Birthday Mark. Hope you have a great day mate. You are one of the pioneers of this hobby for accuracy, sharing of info and general prop coolness! Happy Birthday to all the other folks who have Birthdays today. Joe
