  1. Derek et al, We are still in the midst of trying to get our forum software to behave under the confines of our current hosting scenario. I ask that anyone who has their IP redirected or is otherwise "banned" have patience. The alternative to patience is that we move to a much more expensive hosting situation, which I am trying my best to avoid. FISD is supported by its members and I'd rather not ask for any more than anyone already gives in time and money. I apologize for any annoyance, inconvenience, or hassle you may experience. I promise this is just as much a bummer for the web admins as it is for anyone. Aloha and thanks again, -Eric
  2. Tapatalk has been temporarily disabled while we pull our collective heads out of our web admin butts. Apologies for the mobile device inconvenience this may cause. Aloha, -Eric
  3. Nicely done! Congrats! Another step toward an RT take over Aloha, -Eric
  4. That sucks! Or... doesn't? Blame all the people who keep ordering armor from you! Maybe if you made a crappier product you wouldn't have so much wear and tear on your vac table. Just a thought. Aloha, -Eric
  5. Thanks everyone. Our little corner of the interwebs means more to me than I'm willing to admit most of the time. I wish there were more hours in the day because there's so much I want to accomplish. Regardless, I doubt it would ever feel like my efforts were enough compared to what FISD has given me over the last 18 or so months. Me ka mahalo nui a me ka ha'aha'a loa, -Eric
  6. Looking good.... I have backpack envy. This photo should be titled "Newman!" Either that or you forgot to extend your thumb and pinky. Good luck... it should be an easy one.
  7. Has anyone thought about changing the name UK Garrison to the TM EIB Garrison? Folks are sure keeping Mathias busy lately! Nicely done trooper. Aloha, -Eric
  8. In the getting started forum is a post listing all the FISD approved armor makers. I suggest rooting around in the getting started area. Many questions to be answered in them thar forum. Aloha, -Eric
  9. Mostly this is common sense... but I took photos when I did it anyways... Step 1: Mark where the handguards go. I put them on and compared the position to my rubber versions that Karin glued on for me. I marked it with a sharpie... you can sorta see two dots in the photo. --------------- I left them to dry for 2-3 days before removing the weights. There's only been a tiny bit of peeling near the knuckles. Other than that it seems pretty solid. I think nomex is treated with flame retardant stuff. I'm wondering if washing them first woud help the goop stick. Aloha, -Eric
  10. Since when is having a beer with other TKs off topic? Aloha, -Eric
  11. Somewhere I have photos of how I glued my Karin hand guards to my nomex gloves. I used pure silicone adhesive, not caulk. Seems to be holding up fine but I don't get to troop too often. I'll try to find those pics and post them here... Aloha, -Eric
  12. Excellent! Can you take a bunch of nice high quality photos of the helmet? Also I'd like to see the new thermal det in detail if possible. I also hear he has a new sniper knee that fits more betterer. I can't wait to see the improvements. Did he give you plastic for cover strips? If so... Did he trim it for you that way or is it still overlap? Looking forward to this build Aloha, -Eric
  13. It only makes sense if that dude lives in Hawaii... nevermind that he bought those shorts at Walmart. -Eric
  14. The FISD costume reference library is the definitive resource for what is required for 501st approval. If you want to make it removable and not wear it after approval, by all means do so. Heck I run around in red flowery board shorts dancing hula (poorly) Check with your local garrison before an official trooping. They may have an opinion. Post up the screen capture in question if you can. Aloha, -Eric
  15. Yep. For ANH stunt and hero you need a holster for basic 501st approval. Check the TK CRLs on the 501st website. Aloha, -Eric
  16. Ask away. That's why we're here. PM or post on your build thread -Eric
  17. Aaron, See this thread for a post of mine. I can measure the thickness of the padding Rob puts in if you like, but really you can put any sort of padding you want. His helmets are scaled up a bit in size to be in proportion to the RT-MOD suit not scaled up for a larger head. After having personally fondling an both an AP and TE2 in comparison to my RT-MOD, I firmly believe that any helmet will fit a big giant melon with modifications. Aloha, -Eric
  18. You say tennis shoe... I say sneaker. You say pop I say soda... Or tonic.... Or coke. You say biscuit... I say cookie. Bonnet, boot, trunk, hood, and Alice. I like TD because it's less to type -Eric
  19. Got proof? -Eric
  20. Yeah man. TM, AP, ATA will all work for you nicely. I'll say this again again... Outside of people always asking me to get stuff off the top shelf... And a bruised and lumpy cranium.. Being tall only sucks when you want to be a screen accurate stormtrooper Aloha! -Eric
  21. Sparkfun.com Hey skyone: any chance you'd post you would "release" your code as you go? Maybe under the BPL? (blaster public license) -Eric
  22. What do you want to know about RT-MOD specificially? There are at least 3 active RT build threads going on right now. I suggest checking those out too. How tall are you? If you're not a taller (or slightly larger) trooper RT isn't the way to go. Aloha, -Eric
  23. The original suits had white elastic connecting the chest and back: If you're going for Centurion it's a requirement: Chest and back shall be connected with a white fabric or preferably elastic strap at the shoulders. Aloha, -Eric
  24. Is your neckseal dyed? Looks like the same stuff that comes off the leather palms of my nomes gloves. Aloha, -Eric
  25. Interesting... I'm seeing the same thing. I guess I rarely ever change my prefs for new content... but the problem is only in the FISD 2012 skin. Chrome/mac here. However if it works using one of the other skins... and if I change it a 2011 skin and go back to 2012... it stays at the choice I made in 2011. Hmm Lucas... did I do something to the 2012 skin when I added tapatalk? -Eric
