  1. Happy Birthday people...... now stop eating cake and find those droids :3po:
  2. looks almost wonky enough to be screen used now
  3. ZOMBIE or... you could try using the same heater that warped it to gently warm it and reshape it
  4. ok ill try to answer all..... it may be easier to replace the lenses rather than adding to them, look in the "sales" sections right here on the F.I.S.D. What do you mean by "fill the jawline" is there something wrong with it?? it looks to me that it just needs the screws adding (and lenses if they are too light) As for the ear screw you need 3 per side - countersunk slotted (flat bladed screwdriver) i think they are 4 mm thread but someone may be able to elaborate on what the originals used, as for their position try looking on starwarshelmets.com Jez has some great pics and reviews of screen used helmets over there.
  5. pretty sure it is who i think...... you can see the bucket here before and after painting.... ignore the eye openings they were a bit over trimmed when it came to me
  6. I think i know who that is, and if im right hes a real stand up guy who produces some nice pulls (if it is who i think i have one of his ANH kits painted as a shadow trooper, there is a thread here somewhere with pics). from what i understand (could be wrong) he got his ANH molds directly from the original CAP, so yes it is a recast but he did go to the maker he was casting and obtained permission (but i think i read somewhere that cap did say once he didnt care who recast him anyway). Of course i could be completely wrong here lol.
  7. My suggestion would be to send a quick message to air-ship himself as he is a member here, im sure he can point you in the right direction.
  8. When i hand painted my ANH bucket i just studied pics on star wars helmets and here. (did the same and used decals for the tube stripes untill i pluck up enough courage to have a got at hand painting them lol)
  9. Sir, i salute you! the smiles on those kids faces is what this is all about.
  10. I simply hot-glued mine in... but BEWARE!!! watch out for any "stringy" bits from the glue as they will tickle your face and are really annoying !! lol
  11. Really nice, great job re-creating the stamp-box its those little touches that finish things ... I have noticed DA seems to do nothing but good kits.
  12. My helmets: ANH Stunt & my WIP Shadow which just needs lenses ---------
  13. Does anyone in the uk have any idea where i might find mirrored lenses without buying a bike visor just to chop up, i used to use visor inserts but i cant seem to find any anymore. Help me F.I.S.D youre my only hope
  14. Best of luck with the new venture Mike
  15. Now you just need a red & a blue lightsaber to make some ewok killing purple rain he he he Looks great BTW
  16. Thanks, yea pity about the eyes but it just means they will have a more ESB look to them and with some good mirrored silver lenses it will look ok i think
  17. UPDATE: frown is now painted as are the stripes, traps & tears, Hovi's re-installed - just gotta get some lenses, fit the screen behind the frown and some sort of liner .... oh and cut down the huge screws holding the ears on
  18. This was a gift from a friend and as it had allready been partly trimmed (the eyes very trimmed lol)i decided it wasnt going to be a TK. It was biscuit coloured ABS and the pull was pretty good as you can see, so i decided to either turn it into a TD or a TX, i had to do a couple of repairs on it, and it was going to need painting anyway so i decided to "TX" it as i love the silver black look.... This is it when first assembled. Here it is in primer. The first coat of black. This is it after a few coats of black and a polish with some good car polish (Mer, it can be used on fresh paint without taking the paint off like t-cut does). As it was a gift i couldnt say no to it and yes i know its more than likely its a recast but please no recast discussions/arguments here there is a thread allready for that,
  19. As Vern said there are 2 ways to do this, both are screen accurate it seems (according to The parts of star wars) so it comes down to personal choice.
  20. OK if im wrong here someone let me know please, with all the great pics here i thought id add text help: Starting at the left side of the blaster (magazine side) with the stock folded & locked into position ... Bottom left: (bayonet mount) has no tracks. Middle left: (level with the muzzle bolt) all holes covered. Top left : all holes covered. Top row: Leave the last hole at the rear for the scope mount. Top right: (top row looking at ejection port side) :all holes covered. Middle right: leave the front hole, it has the semi-circualr finger/hand guard. Lower right: all holes covered
  21. What rank would this make mr "set for stun" as he seems to be giving the orders to that squad at that time?? (sgt maybe?)
  22. Of course the orders were not to hit them, if they gunned them down then the tracker they had just placed on the falcon was a waste of time.... therefore the shooting was just for show to make the rebel scum feel like they escaped.
  23. Thats very cool Rees, im glad one of my simple ideas has inspired someone to take it a Big step forwards Just noticed your location... im moving down there very soon hopefully
