  1. you could try soaking it in water then drying it out with some heat BUT! beware it may shrink - or try running a few lines of cheap superglue down the inner length of it to crate some rigid lines.
  2. Thanks Steve, i made a jig for the D rings but ended up using lager wire so it became 2mm bigger, never realised before i did this one that the D rings on the mgc are bigger than the L2A3's. BTW Steve are you still doing scope/rail & greeblies for ROTJ E11's ?? if so mate can you pm me a price for scope/rail and greeblies, thanks.
  3. Mark mate if you need any help with any of them just shout. Heres a few pics of the build up so far.... The pipe, drilled with the alloy inner sleeve: A few of the parts attached: The scratchbuilt finger guards, which are very different to the UK/ANh version: The mag installed for the first time: Rear cap ( which is removable like the original with a sprung lever lock and bayonet type fitting) The one piece stock and the two halves of the trigger/grip area: and just before the selector switch was installed:
  4. Thanks guys, im quite pleased with it - after building my ANH version & my DLT34 (its halfway between the MG34 & DLT19, need to t-track it) i had loads of bits left lying around so this had to be done.
  5. Ive had a little time on my hands lately so i decided to build this. What do you think?? is there anything i have missed off it so far ?? I have some alloy tube for the fins, and im working on the rear sight insert, i plan to be a little lazy with the scope/rail & greeblies and buy resin but i think its ok so far considering i have not had to buy anytihng yet!
  6. Ermmm why not just ask straight out ?? Mike are you or did you used to be VT? - you have been straight forward with your latest helmets so if you used ot be VT then fess up and lets all move on, aslong as you are honest from now on i dont think anyone will really care anymore.
  7. CFO, CFO, CFO :dancing-trooper:
  8. The one thing to remember about this suit when it comes to pricing is that he does'nt have to recoup tens of thousands spent on purchasing it in the first place,i dont think the full story needs re tying here but i beleive its been in his family for quite a while so hopefully it will be priced reasonably - cover time spent, molding and plastic costs and anything more is pure profit.
  9. If its 100% accurate then to fit in it everyones going to have to weigh about 7 stone and have big hair and flares aint they lol, ok im joking but the first bit is true - unless its altered to fit a larger frame after purchase.
  10. this got me thinking ... and let me just first say, i think its real sh*tty if hes actually claiming sculpting the original (i havent heard or read that directly- all i have seen is whats online here and on FB, so untill i see it for myself i must give the man the benefit the same as i would anyone else) and i dont know enough about the armour to say either way about it being re-cast - but, how did it get from the clay sculpt to vac forming bucks? he must have scuplted something along the way even if its as has been said just to make it easier to "pull" surely you couldnt just pour material into a plaster casting to create something to vac form over?
  11. He does no wrong... have you learned nothing mate - DOH! hes a star wars god, a close second to someone else who i wont mention but i bet we could all guess he he
  12. I also sent a message basically asking why hes using someone elses pics, i didnt keep the reply i got but lets just say hes really mouthy, gotta love web warriors, had to laugh. got his name & address tho just wish i could go to OZ and knock on his door see how brave he is when not behind his monitor.
  13. Ive seen photo proof (all you had were photos remember) that your helmet is an exact match for a T*E helmet, so if a couple of photos and comparissons are proof then does that mean that the accusations that you re-cast are true then?
  14. The doopys hovi's are pretty good for the price, they dont have the "nipple" inside but they are nice clean casts and come with the screen allready fitted. They dont have bolts allready fitted but are easy to thread i simply drilled/tapped into them as they are thick enough to hold the thread secure. heres a close up of the tip: -------- Here they are installed: -----
  15. they are still made under licence in india called the SAF Carbine 1A1 or 2A1 for the suppressed version. -----------
  16. Why must it be 4 teeth cut out on the helmet? there were stunts with only 3 I beleive (the Death star "swing" scene the 2 troopers lying on the floor shooting under the door only had 3 per side).
  17. And, CFO Will do a custom order for you in any colour you want, no extra charge but they will need a 25% deposit to cover the plastics puchasing, it is ROTJ style.... so force unleashed style shadow anyone
  18. Is this "all cast from original" in the same way your ANH TK helmet mold "touched the inside of a screen used" because that would explain alot by your own admission you didnt cast a tie and we know parts of it didnt come from an AT-AT so i say straight out (as i have elsewhere)... sir you are a liar - prove me wrong, or you are just as bad as a re-caster who wont admit they have re-cast
  19. Ok sticking to the above rule - i hope, this is just something for everyone to decide on - im as far from an expert as anyone could get but this is something everyone can check for themselves very easily... Ok it was stated that this was "all cast from original" (sorry have to quote from elsewhere to make the point) by that i take it as either screen used or the parts originally used to create them (I dont think it can mean anything else can it ?), it has also been revealed that a TIE helmet was NOT cast to create this, my point (or evidence) is as i have allready said the "ears" on the TIE helmet were only used on the TIE & the AT-AT driver helmets and were sculpted solely for those helmets. Now if a TIE wasnt cast then where did they come from? there is only one known (original) AT-AT helmet out there (not counting the stolen one) did he have access to the only existing AT-AT to take apart and cast? if not then at least the "ears" are not original! if this is the case then what else is not "original" - Ok ive said my piece now decide for yourselves people.
  20. I do this too use neat washing up liquid to clean most out then rinse with water & liquid.
  21. It wasnt a rebel helmet as the didnt have the "ears" they were only used on the TIE & AT-AT driver i beleive??
  22. wow John, great job repairing it ...... but i still say zombie it - even more so now ive just finished reading the book, i want a zombie trooper now
  23. I was just thinking exactly the same thing... looks like they are using a twist-tie to tighten the boot around his ankle, maybe to stop the boots popping out of the shins??
