  1. Cheers Joe, when someone who owns an original helmet says its ok then that will do for me... im just glad i didnt mess it up
  2. Ok to be honest i have no idea of its origins.. it came to me via a friend for an £ amount that im not going to tell you because you will all be very jealous and i just couldent say no, lol .... it has been a kinda budget bucket as everything on it has cost very little, the decals are not great & i plan to paint the "tears" by hand when i get an hour to myself, as my first helmet and first helmet build im pleased with it and im sure like my E11 it will change/evolve over time as and when i think "hmmm i could just do that". heres another pic. Next ...... Full armour... i hope
  3. Im interested in hearing what people think of this helmet, im not gonna say too much about it just yet..
  4. I did realise it was a casting and not totally accurate & im only using it for basic shape of the body i have some pics of real MG's when i get on to the detail. Thanks for the heads up anyway Dennis I made a few alteration to the outer sections yesterday..The parts marked in dark gray are on the left side only and i removed the cut-out for the grip as the top and bottom edges are sloped. This is the centre section: And the grip/trigger assembly:
  5. Thanks for the offer Mason, but i think i have the body pretty sussed now, if i do get stuck anytime ill remember your kind offer and give you a shout
  6. Thanks for the links guys, some will be usefull... unfotunately the only plans i could find online were the ones on the empireprops website which were the incorrect ones (im not saying the original designer did a bad job they are very good plans) but i had to notice they just was'nt quite right. Not sure if ill ever do a run of them but you never know i may get bored at some point in the near future lol.
  7. I spent a while today looking for plans to build an MG34, i found some but they didnt look quite right to me so i found a few good pictures of a replica MG34 on a WW2 re-enactment site and it seems the online plans are slightly wrong at the front so i re-did the plans for the main body and i thought id post them here to see what the very clever people of the FISD think ????.... please not too harsh its my first attempt at any plans. Refrence picture My outer body which i have split over 2 sheets to get the right size as i have allready started building.. (it has 3 pieces, 2 outer and an inner) ...its going to be big by the looks of it so far, like nearly 4 foot long (i think the original was somehwere around 46 inches)
  8. Not much help to you but ive had this happen on motorcycle tanks when the top coat has reacted with the primer and 99% of the time the whole area had needed sanding back as the reaction keeps coming back on any topcoat applied over the affected area.
  9. Looking good so far will be interested to see how it turns out when completed.
  10. There are a few people in the UK making blasters it just depends on your budget, maybe have a look on evilbay or maybe if you do decide to scratchbuild you could get help from the uk members here, its not that hard to scratchbuild and even easier if you use resin parts.
  11. I will keep my eyes open when out n about and on e-hell, and im sure youre allready aware but the pics and info are being passed around anyone and everyone to keep a look out for your armour/helmet. Hopng this gets found along with the little scummy ratf*!kedsonofabi!*h who took it grrrrrrrr makes me mad NOTE* i grew up in birmingham where this was stolen from and have friends there so have left this on facebook for them to read... To all my friends in Birmingham..there was a set of stormtrooper armour stolen from a really nice guy who was at a show at the NEC recently raising money for charity, if any of you see any being sold cheap in and around brum please get in touch with me, thanks.
  12. Had some decent weather so i got some better pics of the blaster on its stand... ----------
  13. Im not sure about the MR E11 but real sterlings have a spring strip on the back of the mag to stop them from moving around too much if yours has his too it may have become loose and may just require a bit of bending to get it holding again.
  14. Wow what an excellent droid! i would love to build one of these but wouldnt have a clue where to start, if i ever do attempt it i will be coming back here for inspiration from your brilliant build.
  15. Amazing build, I nearly went this route myself for my first build but when i looked at the toy E11 i thought "no too much work, would be easier to build from scratch"... Looks really good and soooo much better than the toy blaster you started with. :jawa:
  16. I have taken a short video of the lights, folding stock... not sure how good the video quality is but it should give you some idea of the blaster and its functions.
  17. Thanks guys, i will see about getting some video of it and post a link soon.
  18. How i made my t-track was low cost and quite effective i think, i first got some of this stuff.. ----- this was from a DIY store here in the uk, then i simply cut the two outer uprights off creating a T which i think looks very good when painted see my E11 with this t-track-----------
  19. OK ive made a few changes to this... it now has a red LED in the front of the scope and a scratchbuilt hengstler to hold the batteries and on/off switch (the switch is the counter reset button) and the "targeting sensors" which are again scratchbuilt from bits of scrap i had lying around from the main blaster build, i have also changed the folding stock pivot and the back cap to an all alloy one as the plastic one it had just didnt look "meaty enough" well i didnt like it anyway.

Joe if im in cornwall when you get the ukg down then let me know where and ill help with anything i can mate.
  21. I see what you mean about the similarity but.... if you do some checking on that oil filter you will find out that its only slightly bigger than a large car oil filter and quite a bit smaller than the "screen used item" nice find tho. look at the pic showing the tank with the oil filter on the bottom and you can see its only hand sized, the other filter (fuel??) is only slightly bigger than this.
  22. Trying to get my grubby paws on a V8 filter to see if i can cut it like this.......
  23. I have just showed the screen cap to a friend who owns an old rover v8 sd1 and he says that it looks like the original filter to him too but he said "it looks like they cut the top edge in about 10/15mm at an angle for some reason?" maybe to disguise it a little or it could just be from something else that looks very close to it ?
  24. Juan i can see what you mean but if you look at the link i posted above and click on the pic to enlarge you can just make out the top (rubber) of the item and it does taper slightly inwards, looks very close to an original rover v8 filter which would have been readily available at the time of filming and of course its a uk made part so easy for them to get their hands on in any number they needed.
