  1. This was going great, i had the trigger and electrics all set and the stock is looking ok, the main body was rough cut and the sections screwes/glued together..... But unfortunately the wood i used must have gotten wet at some point and whilst i was away for a week it was in the house and dried out completely DOH! it split one of the outer sections right along the middle grrrrr i was not happy to say the least, so... now im going to try to find a piece of 2x2 or something similar and cut the main body from that and add things like the feeder cover to it should make life easier for me as i wont have to join/seal 3 seperate pieces and where things will be added they would be seperate on the real thing so gaps/lines wont matter too much.
  2. I think id happily get up for that he he Glad youre sorted again bud, still like to find the theiving little sh*t and wire his testicles to the mains tho
  3. OK... update i have the electrics installed in the grip but i am still working on the trigger itself but thought id get a couple of pics of the electrics ... and one with the LED lit up .. doesnt look very bright here but its not bad in person..
  4. What made you decide not to use the electrics ??
  5. Looks to me like IG88's neural inhibitor
  6. OMG i hope not if i find out it is then its gone !
  7. When i first saw it i looked around to try to find out what it was but the closest i found was an early CAP but thats just a cast T*E so has it differences, maybe we will never know what it is im just glad i got it. We know for sure its not TM (i wish, mmmm shexy armour) and im sure if it was TE2 then he wouldve claimed it, Joe R said hes sure its not a DA so that doesent leave too much but it mustve come from the T*E line somewhere.
  8. It will have a red LED in the end of the barrel that illiuminates when the trigger is pressed, i allready have the parts for the electrics which is supprisingly simple... 1 simple push button, taken from a cheap cycle light (the kind that has multiple flash types so the button is simple push on, release off, 1 battery & LED taken from a cigarette lighter (it had a light in the bottom), the end/reflector of a small aaa battery powered torch to increase the light from the LED and hold everything into the inner barrell. I have a few things to do at home but when im done ill rig this all up to show the effect maybe with a small youtube vid.
  9. I got it via a friend who knew i was looking for a trooper bucket hes not really into this stuff so has no idea of the original maker, but it was offered to me for such a good price i could not say no....
  10. The distance from the ears to the tear surely would differ from helmet to helmet depending on the trimming and who put it together? ( i set this one using a guide i found a link to here ). I think its ABS it was just polished after the final build for he pics.
  11. From what i have found out via "search" DA is a uk seller, possible CAP recast??. Does anyone know was it cap who said he didnt care who recast him ??
  12. The wood trigger wont be staying it was just there so i could get the sizes right, i want to fit an alloy trigger (looking at a red LED for the barrel) and will be using alloy plate on the sides on the grips, and alloy for the trigger guard... but thanks for the link that will be a massive help when i do get around to doing some more to the grip/trigger Maybe this will help explain what i mean...
  13. I am making progress with this now so i thought id add some pics The stock cut to shape and sanded, almost done The whole thing, still wayy off at this point
  14. UPDATE: The tears were really bugging me those decals just didnt look right so i made some time painted them, i have also added some black mesh to the frown and cleaned up the eyes a bit (cheers joe for pointing that out and making me do more work lol) ----------
  15. How about a translator for "drunken fool" that is my native language at weekends and im pretty sure im not the only one lol
  16. Wow that turned out amazing, im glad the earlier setback with the paint didnt ruin all your hard work. A bucket to be proud of
  17. pew pew ... the online gamers fave noise lol
  18. Chicks dig scars.... scratches maybe not so much but still looks very cool
  19. Cheers Joe, when someone who owns an original helmet says its ok then that will do for me... im just glad i didnt mess it up
  20. Ok to be honest i have no idea of its origins.. it came to me via a friend for an £ amount that im not going to tell you because you will all be very jealous and i just couldent say no, lol .... it has been a kinda budget bucket as everything on it has cost very little, the decals are not great & i plan to paint the "tears" by hand when i get an hour to myself, as my first helmet and first helmet build im pleased with it and im sure like my E11 it will change/evolve over time as and when i think "hmmm i could just do that". heres another pic. Next ...... Full armour... i hope
  21. Those are your lenses in there smitty
  22. Im interested in hearing what people think of this helmet, im not gonna say too much about it just yet..
  23. I did realise it was a casting and not totally accurate & im only using it for basic shape of the body i have some pics of real MG's when i get on to the detail. Thanks for the heads up anyway Dennis I made a few alteration to the outer sections yesterday..The parts marked in dark gray are on the left side only and i removed the cut-out for the grip as the top and bottom edges are sloped. This is the centre section: And the grip/trigger assembly:
  24. Thanks for the offer Mason, but i think i have the body pretty sussed now, if i do get stuck anytime ill remember your kind offer and give you a shout
