  1. yea that may be good for someone building a kit with this idea, i had an old cycle computer lying around from when i upgraded to wireless thats the only reason i was messing around with one
  2. Yea i was thinking of it as a PTT solution for those who like to hold blasters, like you said fix the sensor to the finger/hand and my thought was to attach a magnet to the blaster grip/trigger itself. I have cut a sensor up and they are quite small when ermm adjusted lol
  3. If anyone wants a cheap magnetic switch for their helmet elec's get hold of a cheap WIRED cycle computer, you will need the sensor and the magnet that attaches to the wheel ... hey presto cheap switch. I have one here ive been testing as a PTT switch for my voice amp and it seems to work ok just have to get the magnet on target, but maybe another strong magnet could work and be less bulky too.
  4. I got a kiddies amp thing with a headset mic (clips on belt so they can annoy parents with their singing) to tear apart for its board, yes it wont have the static burst but i can live with that... and the cost £2.50 from a charity shop (store where people donate items to be sold for charity for anyone who doesnt know of them)& im currently awaiting some small speakers intended for use with an MP3 (battery powered so hopefully will have some amplification built in £1.69 form evilbay, if all goes well ill have a voice amp set up for less than £5.
  5. I am in the process of trying a few options right now, if i get any good results i will post here
  6. I have contacted every Hard hat maker around (I think) at the time these were used and they all said it was not one of theirs, i have a few leads that im still trying to chase up but it seems to be one of those long lost parts that we will never know .... or will we ???
  7. This just seems sensible to me, if you have something that you know others would be interested in and dont want to/cant share it then keep it to yourself until such time as you can/will share, i dont wish to upset anyone but this kind of "ive got this and you cant have it" is just childish showing off and has no place on a forum that prides itself in helping others.
  8. no worries bud, i dont think it would cost much in a padded envelope so if you get stuck for one id be happy to send it for you.
  9. Hey Smitty the co2 cartridge you're looking for is that the small ones?? i have a silver one sitting here on my desk right now that i picked up a few days ago and thought hmmm that might be useful one day
  10. I have been asked if i can make a set of binders for a friend like mine see them here if anyones interested i can make a tutorial out of the build ???
  11. Cool Joe cheers bud, so theres 6 helmets that have been molded (the 5 you mention here and your own ROTJ) and one possible. Its amazing that with all the helmets that were made for the movies that this is all that has made it out... does make me wonder how many screen used helmets are sitting in sheds or attics forgotten for 30 years
  12. What i meant by this thread was the first gen of whats available to us mere mortals,by which i mean the T*E/2, gino, etc etc (actually 2nd gen?), my apologies if i wasnt very clear, i was just wondering if there were any others apart from the T*E line & now the JoeR ROTJ's. I know TK threads can be volatile sometimes and im not trying to say anyone is better than anyone else im just interested in the origins of whats available out there, so please correct me if im wrong but all of the helmets available apart from the TM are from these 2 screen used in some way or another?. Cheers but its not mine.. it was on loan for my first time in armour, loved every second of it.
  13. This may have been covered before but search is not my friend today... How many makers have 1st generation helemt molds? we know the JoeR, ROTJ is 1st gen and from what i can gather T*E's 1st gen (Brian R?) molds are now in the hands of TE2, Gino's cant be counted as 1st gen because they are duplicates of the T*E 1st gen molds (2nd gen? ), and TM's are sculpted so while they are 1st gen they are not "scrren used". Is this it or have i missed something somewhere? I think if anyone knows this its the good people of the F.I.S.D.
  14. I painted my barrel without thinking about t-track atachment and tried allsorts but the painted surfaces made it virtually impossible to attach them so in the end i just dremmeled a few spots of paint off here n there and glued them on.
  15. I did put a laser pointer into my scope but decided to change it to an L.E.D purely for safety, what i did was run the wires out of the bottom of the scope and into the hengstler counter (which was scratchbuilt so was hollow) and use the counter reset button on the hengstler to turn the L.E.D on/off. --------
  16. Apologies if im stepping on any toes here just trying to help ... Rob, if the 501st cant help, you could try the 99th *MOD EDIT* maybe they can help you
  17. Im not.... Just wanted to join all the other CFO logos really.. mine feels left out
  18. Just 30 rolls of sellotape stuck on the inside then peeled off leaving the residue and some random colour splashes here and there, oh and lets not forget the cod held together with electrical tape, just to make it movie suit accurate, lol
  19. I used to host for a chat server and i could easily set up a chat room if people wanted, i think it could even be password protected if needed we would just need a link posted here somewhere.
  20. Kid "is it hot in there " Me "no i ripped out the cooling fans from an R2 unit i shot" Kid's face :
  21. Wow my scratchbuilt E11 is 496mm from tip of stock to endcap, and that was mostly guesswork as i didnt download the plans till after the receiver was cut.
  22. apart from the usual stuff, debts, charity, family etc i would fund some accurate licenced armour ... not just TK but anything that people like rubies currently make (that makes me want to bleach my eyes)
