Hey everyone. As anyone that has ordered from me in the past month can tell you, I have not been able to ship items out as quickly as I used to. My life has been upturned in the past few months and its stuff I don't care to burden any of you with. So in the mean time I will not be taking any more orders until things settle out. I use the flat black colorplace on my blasters for 98 cents. Always been good paint to me. I wouldn't trust their gloss white tho lol. And remember "new project = new paint"

Or peel them all off, and buff out the residue from the old stickers and apply a brand new set of Scott M or TK-4510's most excellent tube stripes.

Understand the situation brother! Parting with armor has to be hard. I havent had to experience that and hopefully never will. Best of luck to you and hope to see you back in armor one day soon.

Can you go into a little more detail about the black specks and also pics are worth a thousand words. So far it sounds like you may have held the can too close to your helmet when painting. Also You need to let the paint thats on the helmet cure fully before you start sanding it again. I would wait at least one week before attempting to sand. If the paint is still wet under the dry coat when you sand it, getting a nice smooth finish will be difficult afterwards.

Don't you hate when you get screwed up military orders and you spend 6 galactic months on Dagobah.

It looks to me like you might be getting a little too close with the can when you are spraying and trapping the propellants in the finish. When you get it smooth and go for another coat, back up and hit it from a distance and just rain the paint in on it. If you see air bubbles form when the paint hits the helmet your too close. You can blast those air bubbles with another spray and it will look like they go away but as the paint dries they will come back to the surface and leave a texture like what you are getting. I fought that battle with my first white CAP helmet. I dubbed it the "Hell Bucket".

The lens should be bigger than the eye sockets of the helmet. Try heating the lens with a hair dryer and letting them conform to the helmet then let them cool. I usually hold the lens in place and squirt caulk under the edge of the lens around the eye socket on the inside. Just dont squirt too much that it squeeses out between the lens and the eye socket and is visible from the outside. I wish I had a picture to show you what Im talking about
