Great to hear. I was thinking of upgrading to tkboots and came here first to see if there were recent orders by troops and what they thought of them. And it was only a month from your first post to you getting the boots. Bonus! I think tkboots it is.

Andrea's Build Thread [*AM]
Hbrika replied to Pickles's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Looking good! Agreed, always tape it up and try it on first. The ability to pull glued armor apart is a life saver. I had to do that with Marine Goop which luckily for me can be pulled apart if you have to. -
Same thing here, got the apache error when trying to access the passport link from bikerscout.net Had to google the hub but when I tried to login with my email and password from here it did not work. Obviously the password does work because I am here Cutting and pasting the password did not help. Tried to just register at the Pathfinder site anyway, it will not let me because I have an account already. Sent out a ticket and am still waiting on that. I finally registered with another email address so I could get an account. Just letting people know that there is an issue.

I received an unsolicited email from them to buy their undersuits and other products. Not sure how they acquired my email address as it is private on the 501st forums, here and everywhere else I have an account. I'm sure the product is excellent but am a bit preturbed

REQUEST FOR: sticking down peeling tube stripes?
Hbrika replied to Hbrika's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
My thoughts exactly but I wanted to hear if anyone knew what it would do first I have spare ABS but no spare stickets ATM -
I’ve noticed that a few of my tube stripe decals are starting to peel a one of the corners They were fine for all of the trooping that I did in May but are now just starting to peel up a bit. Is there a safe glue I can use that will not make a mess or a clear coat to hold them down or should I just get more stripes? I put these all on by hand and spent a long time on each one smoothing the bubbles out and letting them adhere. Could it be the high humidity in my area? Thanks troops Tim

Mike thanks so much for your prompt response and delivery of the decals. I wanted to bring my TK for a photoshoot at Motor City Comic Con this weekend and now I can

I bought an AP kit awhile back and it did not come with the buttons. I have the plates themselves but not the coloured buttons. Was it supposed to come with AB plate buttons? I used Curtis’s tutorial as well, it was very helpful. I bookmarked the thigh section and search around from there but if it was put all in one place that would rock
-
Agreed! I ended up heating the piece with a blow dryer to get it to fit. I got a tiny bit of damage but there was no other way to get it to hold Even when I used velcro and rivets it would just pull them out again. The two pieces just are not shaped the same :/
-
I'm slowly but surely moving ahead with my AP kit I have to ask though, has anyone else had a problem installing the sniper plate. I watched an armor construction video and read a good AP kit assembly thread and have come to the conclusion that there was beer involved in the making of my kit. Lining up the pieces I can see that there is no way that they match up. If I rivet the one side in the other is almost a good inche away from its mate. I can clamp it together but the rivets will not then hold. Anyone else run into this problem? I've had a number of issues with edges not mating up with this kit but this is by far the worst Not dissing the armor, it is gorgeous stuff but the shins and thighs were enough to make me want to call a shrink In comparion the helmet took me like an hour to build
