I'm guessing he's trying to make the knee plate ridge line up with top of the shin which is what I believe is an FISD requirement? They most definitely do not line up with the shin ridge - no Stormtrooper armour does. Since the ROTJ knee plates are held on with single cap rivets, the front plate angles away from the shin - opposite to how this is angled.

A lot of you may not know him, he wasn't active here for a while, but he was one of my first non Garrison 501st friends. So he was one of the first to show me how the 501st can bring people together to support one another and promote good will to everyone, a quality that seems to be harder to find at times. Some people spend countless hours helping others, and want to reward their results as well as incentivizing new people to help as well. To register a “win” in the program, the assistance must have provided hands-on help trimming, building, and/or fitting of said armor for the person who was awarded Expert Infantry status. Other program notes: • Helping remotely, giving advice, or taking payment in exchange for help does not account, all work must be voluntary and without expectation of compensation. • The assistance must be for a period of 30 minutes or more. Spending 15 minutes tweaking someone’s fitting or taking photos does not count. • "wins" can be retroactive, e.g. if you helped 5 people in 2017 already, those can count as long as they are fully documented. The repainted Boeing 737-800 will take flight in November ahead of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” which hits theaters Dec. 20. The “space shuttle” won’t ferry passengers to a galaxy far, far away, but it will fly multiple routes spanning Canada, the US, Central America and the Caribbean.. At certain times of the year this embargo is lifted, generally around Blu-Ray / movie releases, May 4th and Force Friday, the recent correspondence from LFL outlines the lift of the embargo: "While there is currently a retail moratorium on character appearances in effect, it is being lifted during the following days: November 14 - 17 -- ok to appear at retailers offering the new game Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order Dec 1-31 -- ok to appear at retailers selling SW-related merchandise for the holiday season Dec 19-26 -- ok to appear at theaters showing The Rise of Skywalker All fans, costumed or otherwise, can participate with venues of their choice within these windows with the restriction that costumed appearances must not be used in the advertising for the event. These programs were designed for those who choose to take their armor above and beyond the minimum requirements for basic 501st Legion approval. It gives you the chance to show a level of dedication and pride that takes your armor closer to being as "screen accurate" as possible, without as much extra work as you may realize! It also works on giving a better look to the Legion as an entity, and you can bet others will take notice of your hard work. The 501st has a list of detailed requirements for Basic approval, (level 1), EIB, (level 2) and Centurion, (level 3) which can be found here in the Costume Reference Library, (CRL) http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:FISD_CRL Here are a few of the questions people may be wondering about: 1. "I am a (tall/short/heavy/thin) Trooper. Can I still apply? Of course! These programs are open and encouraged for all sizes of TKs, as long as the costume is correct and meets the guidelines. There are many specific build tutorials to every option, as well as a vast network of fellow TKs on the FISD to help you out and offer suggestions. 2. "How much extra will I have to pay for extra items"? The cost is actually quite reasonable, considering the few extra supplies you will need, which are listed in the requirements area. While it may run you a little more to implement these additions to your costume, they will go a long way to improving accuracy. All needed items can be found for sale on this thread: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/16-ongoing-sales-project-orders/ While blasters are not required for basic approval, for EIB and Centurion levels they are, and may need upgrades (also listed in the CRL). 3. "I haven't even got my kit yet, is it too early to start planning"? Actually, aiming for Centurion is easiest to do right out of the box. 4. "I have my basic TK approval, can I still get in these programs"? In a word... absolutely! 5. "Are there any "perks" to this extra work and cost"? Besides knowing that you have a great looking set of armor, the 501st and FISD believes you should be deservedly recognized for your achievement(s), and allows you to wear the appropriate embroidered "rocker" badge of rank (available for a very minimum cost) on your shirt, helmet bag, etc., as well as rank decals to put on your armor bin. You will also have access to select "challenge coin" runs, receive (free) a cool certificate for your new rank, and have your title posted below your name in your FISD signature. Plus, once you reach these levels, you will have the extra knowledge to help out those who are looking to apply as well. 6. "Is it hard to apply, and what happens then"? After basic approval, all you do is make sure your armor is up to the standards set forth in the CRL, post a thread with the required photos in the appropriate area (see below), and wait a bit for the D.O.s (Deployment Officers) to address it. (Hint: Studying other people's threads before you submit can be a GREAT help). These are also listed on the main page of the FISD site. While waiting for approval, you will get some comments from others who will offer suggestions and constructive advice to help you out. If you should need any changes, the DOs will let you know, so you can adjust accordingly. Don't be dismayed if you do need changes... it's all for your benefit! After you are approved for EIB, then you can submit for Centurion. Been a bit busy getting ready for my first baby coming next month and I have also been a little nervous continuing my build for fear of messing up and risking getting replacement parts that do not color match my current armor. I already have a second walts kit but I cannot use any pieces as the color is noticeably different. I need to follow up again with my replacement drop boxes as its been a few weeks and I have not heard from Walt after he told me they were going to try and find some of their whiter plastic to use and send me new drop boxes. So i got my hand guards glued on but i need to add more glue to the edges. I stuffed the gloves with cloth, added more glue near the edge and wrapped them with tape. Left bicep: Trimmed more of the return edge and used images and my RS as a reference: The bicep is too much of an oval shape and too big. Went to hot water bending and used PVC pipe to aid in reshaping: The shape is better now. Might be good enough. Need to tape it together and try it on: Comparison of how a untouched Walts left bicep looks compared to one I reshaped:

Looks GREAT!! The connecting line (see arrow) is a bit askew, but this is no biggie. As long as your cover strips have an equal amount of space on both sides you are golden!

Today I trimmed the edges of the forearm as by Josephs advice. Came out pretty nice I think. Then I took away the pesky returning edge by the wrists I think the left forearm is finally finished cutting! I have started with the other arm, that overlap is a PAIN to take off. (Thanks, by the way Dave with giving me instructions.) That will have to do it today, I have a free day tomorrow so I will hopefully make some more progress!

Hey Guys thanks for the advice. This was the first time suiting up so I expected to have to make changes. Have have tightened up and tweaked the internal strapping and hope to get a more accurate look. TM hit the nail on the head, "OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Sniper knee plate must be aligned with the ridges on the shin." Going off the CRL the the only way I could get the knee plate ridges to line up with the shin was to have the big gap at the bottom. I have reattached it and closed the gap but now the ridges don't line up. I am shooting for as screen accurate as possible, ill just wait for the CRL to be updated to reflect screen accuracy before applying for EIB and Centurion. I am going to have the boots resoled with white soles so I don't have to worry about painting them every 2nd or 3rd troop. I sent the same photos in for basic approval at the same time as creating this post and I was approved!! First approved ROTJ-TK for the Badlands Garrison. I will post updated pictures the next time I suit up. TK-13220

Little mod there to strengthen the structure hence mag magnet part not held together with just glue. The5thHorseMen was able to solve this by providing me with a model with it being attached to the body. Hence future kits won't need the screws anymore. Sent from my Redmi K20 Pro using Tapatalk

Well, in that case it does not matter. It only gets tricky, if you want the blaster to have a structured surface like the originals (wrinkle paint). The T-tracks were made from extruded plastic and did not have any structure. Some builders accentuate this in using different spray paints on these parts.

I prefer using a Dremel (or knock off brand) cutting disc and sanding drum, but make sure you wear gloves, long sleeve shirt and safety glasses and mask, those little fibres can be annoying in the wrong spots External I use a combination of sanding drum, files, sandpaper and burr tips, come in all different shapes and sizes too and can really get into tight areas

Looking great so far! As long as you can wiggle your hand through the forearm, you are good. If you can’t do it with the gloves then don’t worry. I put my forearm arm through, then put on my gloves and tuck them in. Good work on the armour clean up and snap removal. Youre doing great.

Impressive set of armor! Just one thing, you might want to paint your shoes sole white if you want a more authentic ROTJ look or aiming for a higher level above basic approval (black is ok for basic).

Congratulations and welcome. Armor bites are not fun. I get one right behind my right knee. After long days, there will be broken skin and blood, but its all worth it.

You may need a little foam behind your sniper knee plate to help hold it away from your thigh. It's amazing how a little weight loss or gain can change the fit of the armor.
