  1. In my case, I have trimmed the Kidney and even the butt plate in a couple of builds I have helped some fellow recruits with no issues. Just try to be sure you're measuring correctly .

  2. Regarding the helmet padding Example- On my first build I added pretty thick padding in the top, but it sat pretty high and I found I was constantly tilting my bucket forward just to be able to see. I removed it (which lowered the helmet) and my field of vision was greatly increased. I now only use padding on the sides, which is just snug enough to make sure the helmet turns when I turn my head. The lower your eyes sit the less you can see. Our field of vision is not that great to begin with, so limiting what you can see can be dangerous at times (think small kids running up to you, steps, curbs, etc.

  3. Hi Chris, and thank you for your submission for ANH Stunt Centurion! CRL and CENTURION Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of Centurion #513. Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly; In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. Overall a fantastic build, brother. There are a few items that we sincerely hope you will consider upgrading to make this armor really look top-notch! As seen below, both colors on the ab button plates should have the same finish. The gray looks perfect, but the blue has a dull (matte) appearance. Reference image We are suggesting that the TD clips be replaced because of the extra holes. Not the biggest of deals as they cannot be seen, but the originals didn't have them. Reference image Last up is the Hengstler counter. In a perfect world it should set back farther and be angled slightly, almost at the same angle as the folding stock. There are several variations on height, but that would be up to you. Reference images And that's it! Again, a fine job on this TM kit, and if you are ever in Squad 7 territory I look forward to trooping with ya'... now it's time to get out and make the FLG proud as our newest Centurion!

  4. Should be little to no gap for Centurion. From the CRL: OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Any gap between the abdomen and kidney armor is no more than 1/2" (12.5mm) wide OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable): Ideally there no gap between the abdomen and kidney armor. Abdominal and Kidney Plate align horizontally at top

  5. Alright so far so good. Rivetted the canvas to the plastic. Tested a few times. First Troop scheduled for April 23rd in the TK. I feel it's ready. Although I still have about a 2" gap on the right clamshell. It's my belief if I can get that to 1/2" I will be at a stage to submit for Lvl 2 Certification unless I missed something and I don't believe I have.

  6. Thanks Joseph. I moved the current padding more towards the back and it seemed to help lower the helmet which as you said makes it look better and I can see better. Will probably play with it some more. Thanks, M

  7. Looking good Alex. If I may, just 2 details to point. 1- check for the buttons shape, it looks like a couple could be more squared 2- It could be a light effect but the buttons seen on screen where more flat. yours look a little raised. References

  11. Hey troopers, More progress on this wonderful lid. This time around, I’ve been removing the liquid masking fluid. Remembering back, the Vallejo Liquid Masking fluid was applied to the helmet (with a paint brush) AFTER the Fossil Green spray paint was added. Since then, the Oxide Red and Ford Diamond White spray paint has been added. Gently removing the masking fluid reveals the Fossil Green paint, giving the helmet the illusion that there is a green HDPE/PP plastic helmet under the white spray paint, just like the originals. Here’s a video of the process, including more discussion about the original helmets and a how to. Now, for some eye candy; Work in progress. Hope you’re enjoying the build so far. Any questions, just drop a comment here or on the YouTube video. :-) Best wishes CableGuy Dan

  12. One simple rule to play buy that also take pressure off yourself. Building armour is not a race, it's an experience . The time you take to get your build right is the best time in the world. If this is your first time with armour, enjoy the journey as much as you can, take your time, learn along the way as we all did on our first armour building journey. It's like your first troop, you will never forget it, so savor it as much as possible. The other consolation is you have a detachment full of experience at your disposal. Ask as many questions as you can, we are all here to help. You got this Tony, and we got your back.

  13. I fitted and glued the back end and main body of the DLT-19. This is ready for sanding and filler. Also cut and fit a wood dowel to strengthen the barrel. Glued and epoxied the first section of the barrel. Then I set the dowel in E6000. Going to let it dry and cure for 24 hrs. Top pick is a test fit.
