  3. And some final pics for this thread. Until I can build my blaster rack, I needed a way to display the DLT. I bought some padded tool U shaped hooks from hardware store, drilled them into conveniently spaced wall studs, and hung the DLT. I now am sourcing a good case for it so I can bring it to troops without raising eye brows in hotel lobbies...

  4. Coming along well. A lot of the armor makers don't have this full piece section but it is screen accurate, can normally you can see the extra lower ridge under the chest section, the neck area shouldn't matter as the chest will cover it.

  5. I signed up for a Star Wars Reads troop at a local library next week. They want us to read to the kids, which sounds like a ton of fun! I loved reading to my daughter when she was itsy. Since I have a week to repair things, I decided to be brave, kit up, and try to SIT DOWN. And I did! No breakage, snappage, or crackage. My butt is still 1 piece and shiny. Or maybe I just got lucky. But I did it! I had to post a proof pic. Now to practice reading and turning pages in my bucket and gloves.

  8. Very nice and congratulations Mario, if I could make comment I would bring your forearms up a little as they are hitting your handplates, will reduce the gap at the elbows too

  11. Yeah-the chest plate, back, yoke and side belt boxes are from Walt's Trooper Factory. The rest of the kit is Back Stage Props

  12. Hello there Kody! Great to hear you're endeavoring to continue your build! All the links that Glen and Mario provided are excellent resources and should serve you well! That last index thread that Mario mentioned is one I compiled and towards the bottom I include links to build threads of various armor types, including WTF. You may find it helpful to review the build of people with the same armor kit as you since every type has their unique quirks. =) Asking lots of questions will also be very useful to you, and lots of troopers will be around to provide guidance! And btw, I'm jealous of your SW CO location; tons of outdoors stuff to do there and in the nearby adjacent states!

  18. Yes I’d need bigger cajones than I could fit behind my codpiece to try the heat gun method! I’ve had pretty good success with a heat iron but I’m not sure it will work well on such a large area all at one time. Hot water seems like the way to go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  20. Looking good, Sean. Like the guys above mentioned, tightening the ab to chest will help a lot. One thing I would add is some black mesh behind the frown... or wear a black balaclava - it hides the face better. It's not a show stopper by any means, but it sells the stormtrooper persona better when you are trooping. Good Luck!

  22. Hot water bath is definitely more forgiving than a heat gun, a lot of practice is needed using a heat gun, you can go from almost moving to molten mess in a blink of an eye

  23. What I would do is to make a test with a separate ABS plastic piece. Another method "the ninja style" is to use a Heat Gun , but this means to be very very careful to avoid melt.

  24. The front piece is way too small for my head (or any other human) so I had to cut it a bit. First try I used a paint can as a template… Still too small of an opening, so I went to a lid from a muffin mix container(the kind schools get in bulk)…That finally did the trick! Test fit…I made sure not to cut too wide as the chest plate will cover this.

  25. Started the yoke section. We had to source this from Walt’s Trooper Factory as the one that came with our kits did not have a return edge on the yoke. make sure to remove this piece…this where the back will sit up against. All glued
