  1. Action Photo Background It makes our job a lot easier editing your images into the Expert Infantry Honor frames if you use a contrasting blank background when taking your action photos for your EI applications. Contrasting is not using a white/light or black/dark background while wearing black and white, it just doesn't work. Also taking photos outdoors, in sunlight, in the garden or in front of brick walls really makes our job harder. A simple solution is using a colored sheet or a tarpaulin. Here are a few examples of backgrounds which make our job difficult Here are a few examples of backgrounds which make our job much easier If possible please try to use a contrasting background when taking your photos, your GML's and GWL's with also thank you for it

  2. Chemi, thank you very much my friend for all of the feedback and help and guidance. I will get on the changes asap. As for some of the changes, My thermal detonator is two pieces. This is a whole new one I made. Two new ones for the Centurion that was approved and for the TLJ and Executioner and I made sure I kept them in two pieces. And as for the Angle that was just a dressing issue. I had no idea about the Rail on the gun. Easy peasy. Thighs and butt plate I have been contemplating making that adjustment and I will get on that right away. The ring on the blaster I had no idea, will add that asap. Cod piece is done. Shorts no big deal As for the Neck Seal. This is all I can say. There is a reason for some being zipper forward and some being backwards. Most are Zipped behind. I can guarantee you that first hand. I just need to leave it at that for now (hahaha) But what I can tell you from other conversations with friends that were on TFA, TLJ and ROSW that the zippers are in the back. Some people had them on the front. But wardrobe puts it on in the back and zips it up and they use clothing tags to actually tag the neckseal to the undresuit. That is all I can say for now. Forearms, I will make the change for sure, thank you. I didn't know about that. It will be a little bit before I can submit this and Executioner for Centurion, once Executioner is approved. It has to do with my work schedule and filming schedule. Usually I am pretty quick about making the changes and getting it done. but I will be at least two weeks out. Apologize for that. Thank you and the entire DO team and appreciate all of the help and guidance. From everyone on FISD as well. Thank you everyone.

  5. Well now the bad news that the chest plate and back plate are definitely too small. I trimmed the chest plate properly and test fitted it and the shoulders didn't sit flush with mine and the sides didn't go around my ribs. All the rest I can salvage though. Just the main body parts will need replacing. I'll get in contact with RWA, thanks!

  11. Andrew, Thanks again for the response. I decided to post to FB because I typically get responses and can make adjustments to the costume in real time, so that really helped. However, like you said, I wanted it here for others to reference and to document my build. Based off what you said I played around with the S-Trim and started to see how it tightened up as I pushed on it. For the portion of the ear that lines up with the neck trim, I'm just going to have to mess around with that part a little more, but I am interested in finding some of the flat trim as well. I think this is what you're talking about. The left side (as we're looking at it) does cover the base better than the right. The S-trim fits well over the left, but the right is what's been bugging me. Glen, Thanks as always. This is one of those tips I was specifically looking for. Also, thanks for the forum link, somehow I missed that when I was searching last night. Though I'm happy with the work my buddy did on the helmet, I'll likely pull it apart and play around with it a little bit. Thanks again for all the help. If anything, working on this helmet is making me want an OT costume now. I'll add it to the list.

  13. Hey all. I've had a kit lying around for a while, and I've decided to make an Incinerator Trooper with it. I've already got the helmet nearly done, and I have the armor. The only problem is.... the armor is too small. Does anyone know where I can get a bigger chest piece, back plate, abdomen, and butt plate? Everything else should fit me fine but those specific pieces in my kit are way too small and need replacement. Thanks! -------

  19. I find several thinner coats of ABS paste helps to reduce the amount of holes, takes longer but is less work, the thicker and deeper it is the more air bubbles seem to foam, I guess that's the thinners drying inside and it's confined when the outside forms a skin. Some times you are just left with holes when you sand and I apply a little bondo/filler then paint to match.

  20. Not that I can speak for the DO's but you will find there is a lot of allowance given to size , shape and detailing with these packs as the references are not the best, those measurements are more of guide not gospel. Here are the last 2 centurion approved packs just for reference as to what has been approved previously.

  23. Hi Jacob, and THANK YOU for your submission for ANH Centurion! CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of CENTURION Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly; In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armour. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. Thanks for your application for Centurion, Jacob. First of all, thanks you for your application. Its always great to see someone wanting to take that extra step and make their armor look that much closer to screen accurate. Just one thing to mention. As seen below, your thighs are riding a bit higher and too close to the butt plate. You should lower them a little (this could help avoiding some armor bites). Reference images And that's all. Excellent job on your build. Congratulations on reaching Centurion level!

  30. Nice work, you may want to touch up just under the brow trim, there is an extra detail line there which you are missing. AM do a larger armor but not sure if they sell separate pieces, you may want to check with them [email protected] References of the helmet under brow stripes

  35. Hi Ardeshir, and thank you for your EIB application! First of all, I would like to congratulate you for the IMPRESSIVE work.. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of Expert Infantry. Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly; In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armour. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. Your neck seal looks great and you have the correct number of ribs and shiny finish as required. It would be great if the zipper was on the front. Reference Images One thing to be aware of is that your forearms appear to be more like Finn's (TFA) than TLJ's. Finn's TLJ It looks like your TD is a bit angled. Reference Images We have noticed that the shorts wrinkle around the cod piece. This is an aesthetic problem. We mention it for your consideration. Reference Images We are suggesting trimming your posterior plate to better reflect the angle as seen in TLJ. Reference Images *************************************************** Centurion Requirements; In this section we prepare you for Centurion. Because Centurion photos show more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here and additional photos may be required. We try to point out all that we can from what we see, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. If we are not wrong, it looks like your TD mount and TD plate are one piece, and although not specifically mentioned in the CRLs (they are currently being worked on),they should be 2 separate pieces (nice job simulating the joint). Reference Images About your Blaster, a rectangular "D-ring" must be present, and both it and the mount need to be white. Reference Images Another thing that we miss on the blaster is a light mount on the barrel also known as a Picatinny rail (Pic), which can be found online ( example ). Reference Images That's all Ardeshir. Just a few details that I'm sure will be no problem for you, seeing the quality of your armor. Again, very good job. Excellent armor. Congratulations . See you in your Centurion thread .

  41. Late as usual to another thread, on my TD backpack I basically took a old 2" PC speaker spliced in a 3.5mm cable with a male jack. Picked up a $20 audio amp at Radio Shack, plugged in the speaker cable out, installed a 36" 3.5mm patch cable into the inlet side of the amp, the other end into a $10 mp3 player i connect to my canvas belt. On my TD the radio face has holes simulating authentic radio speaker cover and finished drilling through the cover and glued the speaker in place just behind that area. Our HWT packs are quite a bit different especially they're not a s detailed (IMO). Has anyone tryed something similar with the HWT packs and have any pics?
