  1. Hi Richard, and THANK YOU for your submission for ESB Centurion! CRL and Centurion Application Requirements All required photos are now in and, after review, we are pleased to welcome you to Centurion! On behalf of the DO team and myself, congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly In this area we discuss areas that could benefit from additional improvement. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. It's clear to see that you have taken great pride in building this set of armor (or armour as you say across the pond), and know that we certainly appreciate all the time and effort you spent on the updates! All that being said, nothing to see here, brother. Outstanding job, and welcome to the few, the proud, the Centurions! Side note: Now that you have reached the pinnacle, I honestly hope you will consider "paying it forward" and check in here on the boards when you have the chance. Lots of new troopers here who can use your advice (especially your mad painting skills)!

  2. Hi Justin, and thank you for your EIB application! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of Expert Infantry. Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly; In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armour. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. Just a small detail on you thigh ammo belt. For more accuracy, it could be located a little higher to allow the thigh lower ridges can be seen as in the reference images. Reference Images Centurion Requirements; In this section we prepare you for Centurion. Because Centurion photos show more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here and additional photos may be required. We try to point out all that we can from what we see, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. Congratulations !! Another excellent build Justin. 5th EIB and counting Sir!!!

  3. It might free up a bit of extra mobility, and the reference shot your provided is excellent (thank you!) - so as long as I can do it without ruining the clear coat underneath, I'm sure I will!

  4. Okay, a new chapter has been added to cover the recently found Greeblies and the Table Of Contents has also been updated. The new info about the mounting methods of power cylinders and Hengstler counters have been added to chapters 24, 25 & 26. Next step is to update the downloadable PDFs...

  5. #34 - Greeblies Some (not all) E-11 blasters in Episode IV (ANH) had a few greeblies but up to now it was not possible to determine exactly what these were. Below is a reference photo. The first two greeblies are placed on the left side of the folding stock (close to the bayonet lug and above the trigger), while the last one sits on top of the scope. Photos of fan-made reproduction pieces for better resolution: The first two greeblies are hard to identify, the last one seems to be a 14 prong IC socket. The greeblies are not recommended for Basic Approval, as most GMLs are (currently) not aware of their existence.

  6. I think you have done a spectacular job on this, James! Since the ANH blaster is based on an actual Sterling, one item that really bothers me for EI is the grip. The grip is not based on a Sterling blaster but rather an Airsoft. Among other things, the Sterling grips were much more rounded on the sides and the overall shape is significantly different. S & T Sterling Unfortunately another item that would be a show-stopper for Level 3 is the power cylinders. While the size of the actual cylinders looks good, it's the spacing is what is throwing them off. Note in the reference images how close together they are. They are also missing the correct fuses in the center. The fuses aren't the biggest of deals by any means, but with your eye for detail and tenacity I honestly feel that you could whip something up that would look danged close. I realize that those details are not specifically listed in the CRL, but as stated in there we use screen used references as well as those listed in the CRL. Based on the amazing things you have done with this blaster so far, I have every faith that you can pull this off, sir. If I can be of any help, just PM me.

  7. Thank you SO much!!!! (It's 2am here, and I keep waking to check my phone!) Thank you to all the D.O. team (and beyond) for your help and guidance. You've all been so warm and welcoming the whole process has been a pleasure, and I'm actually sad that it's come to a close. Huge thanks to Dan again, my UK armourer (sp? [emoji6]). Without him launching me on this path I would've been lost. Finally (this has become an Oscars speech!), I need to thank my wife. Aside from being a fantastic photographer, she's been not only supportive and understanding of my various man child hobbies, but also extremely tolerant of the time and money I've spent on them! [emoji1] Again, thank you all, and I will do all I can to assist anyone up and coming where I'm able. Thank you x Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk

  9. I suppose I should finish this out, huh? Updated action photo with blaster added to the OP! I also cleaned the blaster up a little too - fixed the bent scope rail, cleaned up the paint on the bolt, and fixed a big crack on a the mag well. Hopefully that does it. Thank you, @TKSpartan!

  13. Thanks so very much, I appreciate it! (it's probably my same eye for detail, but FYI - in your signature it says "Enhanced" Infantry instead of "Expert" and Centurion is spelled "Centurian"... just in case you hadn't noticed!)

  15. Expect an update to my FOTK thread in the near future! Not much of an update as far as progress, but an update haha I've been VERY busy and anticipate continuing to be busy all next month, then it's my wedding in August, so work probably won't begin again in earnest until September, but I'd love to have that submitted by the end of the year. Thanks tho!

  16. Since it's not specified in the CRL, it's Suggested , but knowing your style, this is going to be a must for you.

  17. It will. My Anovos has been to L3 and back 4 times. Just takes time and attention to detail - the things you mentioned are all pretty standard for Anovos, prebuilt or not. It looks like you still have the return edge on the inside of your thighs, as well as full return edges at the backs of your knees - I would chop that out and save the shavings to make ABS slurry to fill the gaps! I would also consider peeling the interior liners back (or removing altogether) and adding underside cover strips from a sheet of ABS - that's a standard on my builds now and adds tons of strength without much weight (and makes assembly easier). Use E6000 and lots of clamps/neodymium magnets. As to the hot water bath, you might get away with filling your bath rub or a storage bin with the hottest water you can get out of your tap, then adding a pot or two of boiling water to that to soak the parts in. Or buy/borrow a tall stock pot - you can find them at restaurant supply stores or online. It's a slow process, so be patient and don't overdo it. Good luck!

  18. I would advise VERY strongly against walking around in public with your blaster, outside of sanctioned events where your Star Wars costume has more context. Unfortunately in this day and age, we have had several occurrences of troopers being detained by law enforcement, or even SWAT, over having a 'gun' pointed at folks in public, and we don't need the bad press. Save it for the cons - otherwise, looking good.

  29. Hey Guys, It has been a little while since I was able to make any progress, but I finally got the thighs all glued up and drying and I have a question about the shins before I put the back cover strip on. Question: Do I need to trim the bottom and "round" it out because of that overlap on the ankle side? See pics for better understanding, red mark is where I would cut. This is just the Left shin pictured but it is the same issue in the right. If you need more or different pics let me know and I can take them. Drying Thighs Ankle end of L shin Thanks, M

  32. Hi Chris - how do you finish the blaster? Which 'black'? The scope looks 'hammered' satin black? The mag looks untouched (blued?) & the rest looks flat black? I'm happy for someone to steer me to the info as I'll building one of these soon!!! Sent from my SM-N986B using Tapatalk

  33. Yet another awesome submission, my brother (but I would expect nothing less from you). My only comment so far is that your fence could use a pressure-wash. Fantastic job on this armor, and you should be proud.
