  1. My design has 2 variations - a regular solid coin and a coin with a cutout - of course the cutout would require a different back. Both feature enamel with glitter in it - something with a celebratory feel. I loved the fact that this is the one time where the number 15 can be found in FISD (with the right font of course) so that was really the basis of the idea, as well as including both OT and FO TK's. One that note I focused on the 3 colors found in the respective FISD logos - Clasic FISD Blue and Yellow, First order Red and Yellow - with Yellow being the unifying elements between the red and blue. Ive updated to include the word ANNIVERSARY. Here is the first version of the coin Here is the alternate design featuring cutouts around the troopers.

  2. Hi Jonathan, Thanks for your Centurion application. It's so clear you've really done your research and have kept these L2 and L3 requirements in mind throughout your build. CRL and Centurion Application Requirements All required photos are now in and, after review, we are pleased to welcome you to Centurion! On behalf of the DO team and myself, many congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly In this area we discuss areas that could benefit from additional improvement. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions Nothing more to add here other than what other troopers have pointed out. Again, an incredibly impressive application; you should be proud of your hard work. Finally, I want to point out that *not only* are you Centurion #501, but you were approved on TK Day: 4/21. On behalf of the DO team and myself, please accept our hearty congratulations on reaching the rank of Centurion!

  5. Justin, I think you nailed it. Here's the one I was thinking about with the larger airsoft gearbox and trigger group assembly: Also, after looking at the Saberforge website, I see what they did. They're offering their nonfunctioning (initiate tier) model for $399; with electronics it's just under $800. I wish the Initiate tier was a little less though, the S&T variant is actually cheaper and is a fully functional airsoft rifle; a function we actually don't need. Regardless, the electronics are pretty cool, but still some modifications needed for ROTK approval.

  7. That works. A few of us have made our own belts. I did one on page 4 of the 3D print build thread found here: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/49826-the-bigjasonis-rotk-3d-print-build-thread/page/4/ and @11b30b4 (Jeff) helped out with one on Kyle's build thread here: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/49604-r1tk-wip/. Since doing the 3d print build, I've learned a lot more about the armor and have made several updates, but the belt has remained relatively unchanged. However, I did switch out the ammo boxes for the far more accurate ones I posted in the 3D Print Repository: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/50811-rotk-ammo-boxes/?tab=comments#comment-715128 You're probably going in the right direction if this is what you're doing. The belt should be a fairly straight forward project, but it can also be extraordinarily frustrating. If you build your own belt, I highly encourage you to measure 10 times and cut once. In my build thread I outlined how I initially laid out the HIPS and cut my tabs, but then stated that "a flat piece of material measures different than a curved piece." I almost had to throw the belt away once I attempted to put it on over the abdomen. Get good measurements with the belt bent around your abdomen, then mark the tabs. Even my Jimi kit belt suffers from this a little bit. Not everyone is the same shape but the belts are pretty much made one size; when you put on your abdominal armor, then fit the belt, stuff stretches, or shrinks a little bit. This is especially true if your weight fluctuates. Finally, I would encourage you not to try and make tabs that glue on top of the belt. You may get away with this initially, but the tabs snap off very easily. Gluing them back on is easy enough, but it really messes up the paint when you're repeatedly doing "field repairs." Also, since they're supposed to sit somewhat flush against the abdomen surface, you can't really back them with a second piece of ABS, otherwise they stick out too far and it skews the appearance a little bit. Honestly, I'm starting to like the idea of a rubber belt.

  8. So glad to see this milestone reached. Let us hope it takes far less time for EIB2000 and Centurion1000. Congrats!

  9. That is an old way of doing them, it is better to glue the shim to the kidney plate, then add a filler piece so it meets with the outer section then add ABS paste, sand and polish. You can get basic approval and L2 approval with a seam showing but has to be filled for L3

  10. First off, I came up with a solution to install this side on my way home from work! Then, it occurred to me that maybe I left out an important nugget to those following this thread. Seems like it should be simple, BUT this side needs to be inserted from INSIDE the magazine shell! It doesn't use screws like the other side, and I didn't want it to pull out easy by installing from the outside. it has little wings on the corner, to help it not pull through from behind. Anyway, it's IN! I used the magnet on one end, stuck to a long hex driver, to reach down inside the shell and push it into place. (pictured here, without wires) Now I had both sides ready to test conductivity once I put them together! so I broke out the meter! And, it didn't work.... If you notice, in the photo above, the 2 center little contact pads moved back inside when I soldered the wires on! Something a small hammer and the same hex driver didn't solve. It works now! (insert squealing sound of the meter showing 0 resistance!) time to move on with grip paint and final assembly

  11. thanks for the suggestions! I want this to be as accurate as possible, so I'll make those adjustments. I'm actually a teenager, not an adult. That's why it all looks a bit wonky, cause I'm about 5"5 tall, and the templates I'm using were meant for a 5'8 tall person.
