  1. I think we could simply change the title to say April fools 2021, that would explain away any misconceptions of it being true.

  2. Doubling up on magnets can increase there power. When you want to build quickly there are no "too many" clamps, magnets and even painters tape. I also use small strips of ABS to help hold snaps so you only need to use one clamp or set of magnets. I ordered more magnets after this image was taken.

  3. After a quick mail exchange with Jim, paid the rest of my order and it should ship soon enough. Exciting. Hopefully customs are more lenient this time around (one can dream).

  4. So I just received my skull trooper helmet and thought I would give a quick review for anyone who may be thinking of getting one. Let me start by saying WOW just great overall quality. Its nice and thick seems very sturdy. I feel like if it gets dropped it would take very minimal damage. The lens are basically hot glued in but nicely done. They are shaped and smooth no sharp corners. Also comes with a custom skull padding insert. Hovi tips look nice and are also fixed with the screw nut style so you can switch out easily if you had other plans. Paint job looks nice on it also. Only bad thing about it for me was that maybe 2 weeks after I purchased mine he ran a deal could have saved some money there. The length it took to receive was normal not super fast but not terribly long to where I had to inquire about it either. Overall I can say it was definitely worth the money. And he also offers different types for different kits. I found him on Instagram under the name skull_trooper_helmets . He showed great communication during the whole process even sending me update pictures as well. I would highly recommend to anyone looking into one. Heres some pics.

  12. Hey troopers, I’m pleased to say that we successfully completed our 12 hour gaming livestream, on Facebook and YouTube, and had some great support. We raised a total of £325 for the MNDA (motor neurone disease Association), and hopefully a lot more awareness of this cruel disease. Here’s some of the photos from the event, before, during and after. A HUGE thank you to all of those that liked, commented, donated and/or shared.

  13. After intense weeks of work deadlines... finally had the time and energy to work on the modifications (and catch up some sleep) over the Easter weekend. I must admit, I did felt the pressure of the other guys getting approved while I was itching to finish my work... So here are the photos for your consideration (fingers crossed): Pencil marks removed in the vocoder: Ab Button Panel trimmed and buttons repainted: Hand guards repainted: Back lower ridges of thighs sealed with abs paste:

  16. Figured I'd weigh in a bit here! So keep in mind that whatever kit you get, it WILL need to get painted. Prepare mentally (and financially) for that - if you have NO experience with paint, and high standards... I would absolutely pay someone to do it for you. If you have the time/patience/budget and want to learn, it will be a great opportunity. If you're an experienced painter, it's probably not too bad since it's all just white. I'll lay out a couple positive and negatives for each if it helps. I have Jim's kit and would hands down recommend it over the ABS options, but make your own call for sure. Jimmiroquai - Fiberglass PROS: - by far the most accurate kit currently available, bar none, including being the most similar to the material the studio suits were made from - kit requires very little trimming or assembly - kit is generally very comfortable and the fiberglass is flexible and high quality - Jim is very responsive, ships fast, and has great customer service - kit can include a quality, one-piece fiberglass helmet (based on the Black Series - only a properly finished Nico 3D-print is nicer, imo) CONS: - needs to be painted: the kit comes in kind of a tan/off-white, and usually has a fair amount of small surface imperfections that need to be fixed (low spots/pinholes/etc.) - it is more expensive than the ABS offerings, and shipping from the Philippines can be expensive as well - the fiberglass can develop small stress cracks, but I wouldn't say any moreso than ABS 850Armor Works or HeadShotProps - ABS PROS: - less expensive - many builders are more familiar with working with ABS CONS: - sculpts and proportions are not as accurate - not accurate to the material used on the studio suits, or the sharp corners/details that are the hallmark of the suit - needs to be painted, as it includes a mix of resin or 3D-printed detail parts along with the ABS - not currently offering a helmet (HSP appears to be, but I'm not a fan) - requires a good deal of trimming and assembly, little complete documentation/guides are available That is of course my personal opinion, but maybe it will help and give you some extra things to consider. Feel free to check out my build thread (link in my sig) if you want, and I'm happy to try to help answer any questions. Boots and gloves look good, I have the same. Consider Sheev's Emporium for the undersuit as well. Good luck!
