  2. I cleaned up my helmet some last night. Still some more cleaning up to do but it is getting there. Removed blue strip that was half hidden under ear pieces. Added the phantom teeth. Painted hovi tip mics white with scuff marks. I need to clean up the vocoder some, I don't like the way it looks. Also did some work on the shins and applied white industrial strength velcro to the back covestrip.

  3. FYI, update. Imperial Warfighters is back up and running as of AUG 1. I was looking at E-11 stuff and went to his facebook page where he posted he is taking orders again. Thought I would share.

Then again to me they look great but some one with more experience might say something but yeah they look like the ones from anovos tbh but idk can’t get that close. 5. 7 1/4 to 7 1/2 is fine the CRL dimension is approximate length.

  6. Cheapest option would be a doopydoos kit (with Tjay’s kit for even more accuracy) or having a friend 3d print you one. I would advise you to skip the Hasbro conversion, if you ever decide to go for Centurion you would need to buy another blaster which is even more $ in the long run.

  8. I wanted the bolt to look like steel. I’ve masked the parts in contact with the main tube and used the dark grey hammered paint, spraying paint and immediately removing it with a cloth. - picture 1 : aluminum bolt - picture 2 : masking and paint - picture 3- 4 : the result. I've also "painted" the M38 scope text (let it snow, let it snooooow ...)

  9. Also, the thermal detonator looks good to me. My two cents. If your OCD requires you to trim a few mm off each cap, keep in mind that you will need to move your clips outwards a bit as well.

  10. Looking great. When it comes to the thigh, I would leave it as is. A bit of extra room is better than too little. Foam padding will help if it is even needed. The space between the thigh and cod looks good. It is all about balance - if you are a taller trooper so you can get away with a bit more black there than some - just so long as the black at the knee is proportional. You are really moving along with this build. Keep up the awesome work!

  11. I thought I would take some initial fittings before I work on the other thigh. Should I trim more of the thigh? I can fit about a finger in on each side of the knee, some padding on 1 side should keep it more aligned. Need to make sure I space the elbow and wrist so an even amount of black shows. Align drop boxed better at the end of the belt and pull them up a bit. I plan to glue the elastic to keep them in place. Gap between thigh and cod piece ok? I have a belt with a piece of black elastic on it and I still need to keep pulling up the thigh piece. Maybe nylon strapping would work better. Reduce black in shoulder gap in picture below. Again make sure drop boxes are better aligned in picture below. Keep spacing between the elbow and wrist the same. Align ab and kidney plate better. Align rivets better and paint white in picture below. Keep spacing between elbow and wrist the same. Align drop boxes better. As always any feedback is greatly appreciated.

  16. Like Glen said, the Bells don’t really need return edge so just a few mm will do fine. You want them to sit as close to your chest plate as possible when wearing your kit. Looks like you are in great hands with these guys, so keep up the good work and look forward to seeing you approved. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  20. You don't need to leave very much return edge, if at all. With the thighs try to make sure your cuts/joins are as straight as possible, you want little to know gap where the cover strips won't cover, using a block of wood with sandpaper wrapped around can be useful. When ever in doubt check the reference gallery

  21. Updates! After talking with @kman at an armor party, it was suggested that I skip the kidney shimming since I should be in a good spot to fit without. That said, started laying out the ab/kidney and cod rivets and wanted to post before drilling anything:

  22. You are correct, I probably worded that poorly and was not directed at staff in particular. What I was trying to say is the CRL is the best interpretation for not only screen accuracy but consistency between all of us TK's. It is not meant to replicate the cracks, repairs or flubs on the screen armor. I was trying to say that some people get bogged down on the minutia when discussing the CRL like reinforcement that can't be seen or verified or things like exact dimensions for elbow gaps. The CRL is for the general, idealized trooper, not a specific trooper. So...BLa, Bla, Bla.. I was just saying that the 501st Mandalorians shouldn't have their own CRL since we were all just approved ANH TK's with different levels of build from Basic to Centurion so the CRL for them would be the standard ANH TK.

  23. Just ordered some mylar expandable tubing, and it comes in silver. Bonus! Should be here in two days to 5 days. Time to strip out the helmet. People are right, you are never truly done....

  24. Thanks Tony. That's what I figured. The thing that intrigued me is that everything worked fine leading up to the actual troop, then problems started when I got to the convention center. I'm not blaming the products at all. It is just my set-up. The items are awesome. Thankfully everything is just Velcro'd in and easy to remove. I'm stripping the bucket of everything this week, then will move items around to a more user friendly set-up and see what happens. Because of time constraints I just randomly placed Velcro in the bucket as I was testing fitting items. I bought a couple big rolls of sticky Velcro from Canadian Tire, and will probably line the entire interior helmet with the stuff to make it easier to move items around.

  25. Any idea what (Upgraded) is referring to? Wouldn't that be a slap in the face if it was the same lined version from Galaxy's Edge? Although at this point it would be great if the deliver anything.

  27. Just line up the inside of the knee plate tab like you have done with the outside tab,. Even thought the knee plate will be slightly lopsided. it's totally fine. It's one of those trooper quirks

  29. Thanks for posting this, it'll help a lot of the People receiving new kits.... As an older member, I've been thinking about EIB, but my confidence levels, or courage to take that step on my own is well... Lacking lol. Think it'd help if there was another person close by who could help advise/oversee/mentor... From what I've seen of my armour, and the things required, there's not much to add... Mainly the correct snaps... From there, I may consider Centurion, but with just online help from here, I'm uncertain... And don't wish to crack/destroy the armour...I've already had one suit destroyed in a house move.
