  1. When someone produces an even more cartooned Donald Duck inspired helmet

  2. Hi all. I’m new to this forum and am scratch-building an ANH stunt helmet - at least that’s what I hope it will become. At this early point in the build, I’m trying to get the overall contours and proportions right. Ideally, I’d like to get it as screen-accurate as possible in hopes of possibly qualifying for 501st approval some day. (If it doesn't look like it's headed in that direction, somebody please let me know now, lol) I’ve stared at the thing for so long that it’s difficult to be objective any more, even when comparing it with photos of the originals, but the areas I can see that might need some work are: 1) The curvature of the dome, especially in side view. 2) The height of the dome in relation to the brow line 3) The size/width of the side tubes I know there are other issues that I’m not seeing. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. The pickier, the better. J Thanks!

  4. I will readily admit I am not the smartest guy in the room. The distance between the lenses and your eyes is maybe 2 inches now, how can you fit a screen so close to the eyes?

  5. Just want to point out that the SE-44c image is showing an F-11D right now.

  6. If you have the time and space, Tim, I recommend making all your own strapping. It is not that hard to do as long as you have the right equipment, which can be purchased at Lowe's (soldering iron), snap setting tool (Michaels) and nylon/elastic/Tandy snaps (Joannes fabrics or eBay). Imperial Boots has two different types of strapping kits available, the EZ kit and the TK ("Classic") system. The EZ kit connects things with Velcro. Not recommended. With the other, the brackets are screen accurate but you will still need to make your own strapping for other areas besides the torso anyway. Being as you are building two kits at once, you will probably be better off ordering/buying the nylon, elastic and such in bulk. I have a link to a tutorial under my avatar below that can help, and if you have any questions, just let us know!

  7. Eh, I don't mind it. I didn't like the animated Clonetroopers or Rebels TKs at first, but they grew on me.

  8. There are a ton of wireless cameras available.... guys are gluing them on small drones. I'm guessing someone with more know how than me could figure this out PDQ. Video here: -----------

  9. If someone could figure out how to effectively stuff a VR headset in a bucket then more power to them. Would be a great workaround for visibility issues (especially bubble lenses).

  10. Replace the helmet and it's salvageable, or you can just make it a prop for your house.

  13. Love looking at helmet interiors, so much room to get creative and so many different things you can put in there to suit personal needs. Here's mine, four 12v fans doing ~15CFM, iComm, Aker1506, powered condensor microphone, bluetooth transmitter to chest 10W speakers, 2W hovi speakers, and a switch box to toggle it all. But, beauty is you can't really tell outside the fans that all that is in here hehe (you can check out the thread I put together on it if you're curious: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/39469-howto-super-clean-helmet-electronicsinterior-build/)
