  2. Hello Troopers, After 2 years, my armor is finally coming out of it's box... I've been so intimidated to actually do this but decided "what the Hell". Hope I can lean on you folks when the going gets tough.. More to follow, slowly I imagine. Cheers, Robert

  3. So I recently purchased a DLT-19 Kit from 3DpropsNL on etsy. I'm currently awaiting the medium brown box. These are the pics of how a finished and painted kit looks on their page. My plan is to paint the stock either a black or gunmetal black, not sure yet and have varying amounts of wear on the different parts of the blaster/gun as on a real MG34, the parts are interchangeable in the field. I'm going use an aluminum-based gunmetal black, aluminum, and patina. I will potentially seal it all in a non-gloss clear coat.

  7. You should use an external image hosting site for your images. Here's a quick tutorial on using imgur.

  11. I have signed up with the Old Line Garrison of Maryland. I went to an armor party, but the members there had more experience with Clone armor rather than TK. Nice folks none the less. I need to reconnect with them now that the build has begun.

  13. Congrats on starting your build, Robert, and glad to have you aboard! Here at the FISD you can count on as much helpful, courteous and correct advice as you need. We have a fantastic group of folks who are here to assist you in any way required, so as Daniel said, "Lean away"! There is a lot of information here to sift through, but if there is a particular area or thread here you need to find just ask. It would also help to list what location you are in, as in many places we have Imperial Attaches that can assist you on a local level. If you haven't done so already I would also sign up on your local Garrison's site and introduce yourself, (we can help with that as well). Take your time, ask as many questions as you like, and it would also help to sign up with an photo sharing site like imgur so that you can post pics of your build or any issues you have.

  16. So, one thing I've done throughout this build is try everything on periodically. It's fun to try it on of course, but it's also good for seeing how everything is working. Tonight, I finally got to try on all the major pieces. The right thigh snap came undone though (my fault), but otherwise this is the general setup with some notes: - Still need to do the belt buttons, ab buttons, drop boxes, holster, thigh ammo. Didn't want you guys thinking I forgot or something - Still need to add more connections to the side of the butt; I hate how it rides up. - Boy I wish i could see [emoji14] Everything seems okay. I can go up and down stairs (only got a bite once) and I can hold my blaster properly. Only thing I really dislike is the sniper plate pressing against my knee. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

  18. Thank you very much for your valuation. All those tips will be carried out to get my centurion rank. Nothing better than learning from all of you to get that rank. I feel very proud to belong to this great family. A huge hug partners!

  20. Thanks for all the help in this build, I really appreciate it! I'm struggling to get Praetorian Blasters to ship my ANH E-11, so I can't apply for level 2/3 yet. In the meantime i've been trooping and have done some adjustments in preparation for the applications. First fix is the shoulder-bells. I think they are really small for me, but I can make it work. Here you can see the elastic being pulled out, exposing a huge gap: Pretty cool pic tho! yes i'm using a borrowed ESB E-11 please don't kill me The fix was replacing the chest to back shoulder elastic with white polyester webbing. I also moved the snap on the shoulderbell and removed all return edge to make them sit better. Looks like there is return edge left but it's just the super thick ATA plastic And maybe a minor detail, but when I painted the outermost tooth I slipped and ended up painting over the last un-cut tooth. Gonna remove that little bit of paint to make it more like the reference pics i've seen.

  23. Hey Candido thank you for your EIB application and patience. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All the required submission photos have been posted. Your armor appears to display all necessary element as set out in the level 2 CRL. The DO crew would like to welcome you to Expert Infantry. Beautiful job on your build, congratulations Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. We have a few minor concerns to go over so starting at the top. The stunt frown technically meets the gum line, though not every movie helmet was painted that way. Correcting this is up to you. That said, regardless of the above the frown should extend outside the last tooth as seen in the reference photos. Reference photo Next up the your Vcoder paint is a bit glossy, it should be semi gloss or satin. We're suggesting you dull it up a bit. Reference photo Continuing downward there should be minimal gap between the shoulder bells and the chest/back plates. Removing more lower return edge on the shoulder bell should help in this area. Reference photo While talking about the arms the gap between the forearm and bicep is a bit excessive, there should be 1/2" (12.5mm). Either raising the forearms, lowering the biceps or both is suggested. Reference photo Taking a look at the Ab buttons. They're painted a bit large. Technically the paint should be smaller than the button itself. Reference photo And closing things off at the blaster, your "D" ring doesn't look correct, it should look what's seen on the following reference photo. Reference photo None of the above are deal breakers by any means just suggestions to enhance the overall look of your armor, which by the way is beautiful. That's it for the EIB section. Centurion Suggestions: In this section we prepare you the best we can for Centurion. If there are any areas of concern they will be discussed here. At this point we have nothing to add. Hope to see you at Centurion. Congratulation again

  24. Hi Paul. I'm in Maryland also. If you decide to do a build, you may want to get hooked up with some of us other TKs here in the area. It can seam a little overwhelming trying to do your own build , but the Old Line Garrison here in Maryland is full of some awesome people. They will offer a ton of advice and help. Best to get hooked up with one or two of the TKS that have done a couple of builds and live close to you. If you run into some issues then someone would be close by to offer some on the spot advice and help. It sounds like you have been in touch with the Academy. That is a great move on your part. Bryan and the rest of the staff know just what you need. Good Luck, and welcome aboard. Tom.
