  1. So lemme back track from my last post a bit. The glove fiasco has finally been solved. I had first posted about use CA glue to attach the hand guards, but it ended up completely back-firing on me and peeling up. Someone suggested using the Loctite plastic bonding system so I purchased that. Turns out it was completely dried out from when I bought it at Home Depot so I just tried using E6000. Everyone says that's what they used so why not. I traced my hand on an old, foam workout mat I had and cut it out. I used that inside the glove as a flat surface to apply pressure to. Then I weighted them down with dumbbells and cardboard. I waiting not 24 hours, but 48 hours before checking again! I also forgot to mention I thoroughly washed the gloves and guards three times each to make sure there was no oil or dirt that might jeopardize the gluing process. I also slightly sanded the glove and the back side of the guard. I did everything!!! But sadly, behold... Once again, the glue stuck perfectly to the glove and not the guard. What is it with these things??? I pretty much immediately determined I was going to keep the E6000 on there, NOT order new gloves yet again and finally try using the Loctite plastic bonding system like my initial plan entailed. I went back to Home Depot and this time made sure it wasn't dried out before purchasing. I once again washed the guards three times with soap and even with rubbing alcohol as well. I followed the instructions for the Loctite and watched the anticipation. It worked! I can't believe it actually worked. This stuff is truly magical. It basically made the guards one with the gloves. No issues any longer. Problem FINALLY solved! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  3. I used a lot of brute force and ignorance on mine. I also superglued my fingers on and had to sand off the prints IIRC so maybe don't do that. Maybe dunk the part in a mug of boiling water before applying? I also seem to remember mine being about 1/4" 6mm ish wide, your's looks a lot wider than that.

  6. Wow, my sentiment as well - having a blaster that has lights and sound, really takes it to the next level. After a ton of research on Arduino and related components, I concluded my skills with electronics were too limited so I opted for the 'ready to install' version. Went with a BlastFX from Paul - it will arrive shorty by mail soon, can't wait

  8. Hi Vlad. You have been given some great advice so far. I know it isn’t probably what you want to hear but Steve is right above. Maybe you should consider waiting just a little longer to make a purchase and save some more money. You have mentioned that you would like to get a nice looking set of armor. If you are indeed looking for that then you will be looking in the $650 range for a kit. Then you will have to purchase the materials and tools to assemble that kit and the other items like a neck seal, boots, holster, E-11, body suit, etc. I know it’s tough but it is very difficult to build one of the sets of armor for under $1000 unless you buy something second hand and get lucky. Please feel free to ask us any questions.

  9. Me too! Ive checked with Wayne as well to see where his measurements were and we were within 1" of each other. For the Top portion we were both exactly at 46cm. The handle was the only discrepancy where we were 1.5" apart. Wayne had 76cm and i had 81cm. Not bad.

  10. Before: After: A bit of the creases are showing but not bad. Took 4 coats. Should be good for protecting me from Ewoks.

  12. It's important to remember that costume designators are really more of a costume grouping and are only created when there is a gap. For instance BH is Bounty Hunters, and even though Mandalorian Warriors aren't bounty hunters, since the armor is the same they all end up getting a BH anyway. In earlier days of the Legion it was easier to get new costume designators created, but it became abused (RP anyone?) and now the bar is really high. Lastly, the books are written by people who just make stuff up. Look at TK-421. Probably more than 1000 stormtroopers in the Legion, so they can't all be TK-something. Finn is FN and the presumption is that the two letter designator is more a unit designator. If we really followed the books, people could in theory just make up whatever two letter designator they wanted and still be a stormtrooper. While this makes interesting fiction, it's too unwieldy for a real-world costuming club.

  13. There has been some very lengthy debates and the end result was "no it's not going to change it will stay TK"

  14. The same thing has been up a number of times, and was also up after EP7. It hasn't changed since, so it's unlikely to change this time either.

  15. WOW, great work on all the many and intensive mods to really set the gold standard for modding a Rubies E-11 !!! I am honored that my small modding attempted are referenced in this thread. (as currently, my blaster is the only thing holding me up from my EIB application.) I don't know if I can take my Rubies to the level that you have done, but you have definitely shown that is CAN be done!! Congratulations on a truly amazing mod, and thank you for the malicious documentation and pictures for other to follow your path

  17. Overall you look good! One thing though, it looks like you have the coverstrips on the back of your shins on the inside. They should be on outer side of calf. Besides that Good Luck!

  18. Looking great! I know that exact feeling. I love wearing the suit, but don’t yet feel like I AM a Stormtrooper when I’m suited up - then I see pictures of my TK and can’t stop staring at them!!! IT LOOKS REAL! ;-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  19. Hi all, My armour is now compete. Need to get my blaster compete for UKG clearance. My pre-clearance pictures raised two small areas to look at, namely the shoulder bridges covering a fair bit of the back plate, and my forearms possibly looking a little chunky. Do I look Imperial? ;-) Any thoughts or comments gratefully received. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
