2. Gio is shipping today... but as a backup I got a pair of black Chelsea chunky boots from Amazon and got in a week. I just dyed them last night, Hope to do approval pics tomorrow ... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
3. Sweeet... I had to get a black Chelsea Chunky boot and dye white... in the meantime. I wanted to take approval pics this weekend... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
4. Thanks. I'll try IB first and if no luck guess I'll be painting some boots :-D I actually just got back from the mall. I went to every store that sold shoes to try and find a similar paid of Chelsea type boots just so I could try on a size 12 to see if it would world. No one had that type except Dunham's. I tried on a 13 there and they fit okay. Don't think I'd want to try to squeeze into a 12 for trooping.
5. Your only option is to contact IB (Imperial Boots) and find out if they'll still do custom sizing, or buy the black Chelsea boots in your size (available all over the internet) and paint them white with good leather paint.
6. I've been reading all the boards too looking for options for larger boots. When I was in the Army I wore 11.5 W but in a running shoe I wear a size 13 and in a normal work boot 12 or 13 depending on brand. I have wide feet and from everything I've read is that these boots, both TK and IP, run narrow. Not sure what option to go with. The 421s on IP only show 12 as the largest size but everyone recommends going with 1 size larger. I wish there was some place I could try a pair on first to make sure they fit. Any advice? I'll buy a pair of black Chelsea ones and paint them if I have to but would prefer TK or IP boots or something similar. Thanks.
7. So after much research, planning and some patience the initial wait is over. My dream of joining the 501st is now beginning to become a reality. Big Brown Box Day has finally arrived, It's here and I couldn't be more excited! This is the latest Authentic Props kit with the new upgrades and features, so I guess we could call this an "AP 2.0". While I was waiting I collected and ordered some other items for this build which I will list but first let's just get right to the good stuff and take a look at the new kit. Generic photo of the Big Brown Box as it arrived. Let's open up this box and see what's inside. Everything laid out. So much shiny white plastic! The only extra accessory I ordered is the genuine leather holster. New upgraded AB Plate complete with the notch in the bottom of the right vertical 4 button base. Also the center button base is complete with the indented rectangle near the top and the circle in the bottom right corner, these additions allows the choice of building either a Stormtrooper or Sandtrooper, Major Bonus! Mark has also added an extra 3" length to both sides of the AB Plate so bigger troopers don't have to use shims anymore, up to 38" waist! Another "big" bonus, no pun intended. Here's the new upgraded Kidney Plate which is now molded separate from the butt plate. Complete with accurate kidney notches for centurion! Also return edges similar to that of RS or TM. Mark has also added an extra 3" length to each side of the kidney plate as well. Back Plate. All this armor is cast very well, great detail! nice thick ABS. A very nice color white with a beautiful shine to it. Butt Plate complete with return edges similar to that of RS or TM, again this is now cast separate from the kidney plate. Chest Plate. All Leg Parts have been revised, including correct inner left shin. These new AP thighs and shins no longer use the "overlap" method. They are now designed to use the "butt joint" method (Centurion) and they line up perfect! Since they no longer overlap there is about an extra 2" on all leg parts when putting two halves together. Arm Parts. Shoulder Bells Thermal Detonator and Handguards. Thermal Detonator End Caps have been revised. Ears, Drop Boxes complete with inner drop boxes, Ab Buttons, Belt cover plates, Knee Plate, Shoulder straps, Thigh Pack, Ammo Belt. (Note: This Sniper Knee Plate is for a Stormtrooper only. Sandtrooper knee plates are sold separately) The Bucket and Face Plate. Holster, Thermal Detonator pipe, Decals, Rivets & various parts, Accurate Hovi Mic tips now included! I'm still collecting some of the things needed for my build, please feel free to let me know If I need to add anything to my shopping list. ADDITIONAL ITEMS: 1. White Chelsea Boots (Imperial Boots or TK Boots) 2. White Canvas Belt 3. Under Suit 4. Neck Seal 5. Holster 6. Latex/Rubber Hand Guards 7. Rubber Gloves 8. Metal Thermal Detonator Clips 9. 8. the type of boot u are looking for is the Chelsea Boot. painting one up is possible, but I been debating doing this versus Caboots. From wot I have been told - painted boots do flake out and require re-painting with vigourous troopin. Cost will eventually come to the same as a Caboot. Not sure US side, but Chelsea Boots can go for as little as GBP20. Look up equestrain sites if u are lookin for Jodphur boots. Other thing I have investigated is some Goth sites do patent WHITE leather Chelsea Boots - but these tend to be too ornate and poointy toed. some use the Elvis boot - but opinions vary abt it. If u do go Caboot in the end - u might want to consider doing it soon-ish. There are rumours of suply problems - some1 correct me if I am wrong pls.
9. I have 2 boots for trooping, painted (H&M Chelsea Boots) and White Leather from Imperial Boots. Painted boots need repainted after several trooping, but now I'm wearing Imperial Boots often cause more comfortable for trooping.
10. Mark hit the nail on the head. As someone who went this route when I joined the paint worked great for dozens of troops. I say dozens because I switched to a pair of Imperial Boots. The paint was fine on my Chelsea's but the problem was with the space around the ankles. Those boots have a wide opening so that play's havoc with the bottom of shin. Making them rise when you walk up stairs and such. The TK boots and Imperial really hug your ankle. So just wanted to let you know. Oh, and if you paint it takes a good 6 or 7 coats. But they look original accurate when done.
11. Hi folks, here is my EIB application for ANH Stunt. Please note, I don't wish to progress this particular armour beyond EIB Armour - SDS Battle Spec Helmet - SDS Battle Spec Gloves/handplates - ISD Undersuit - Extreme Racing one piece Neck seal - Rebel Scum Workshop Boots - Hand painted chelsea style Holster - Hand made by me Belt - Tatooine Traders Blaster - Doopydoos modified E-11 Height - 6ft Weight - 13st 4lbs Front Back Left Left arm raised Right Right arm raised Action
12. Hey Kat another thing i noticed as going through some of the photos online are the boots the boots are still the same Chelsea style boots except the soles of the boots are flat
13. Well, She just wore here white adidas superstars... I know I will be after a pair of chelsea's on ebay for her real armor... But not for this one. Saludos
14. Despite most out there, I have a mysterious fondness over the wonky and squashed look of ROTJ armor... After a long struggle... I made up my mind and looked for Mark for a ROTJ kit. First of all, I have to thank Sskunky (CFO Mark) a lot for his patience with all my questions and his craftsmanship for putting the helmet together. Yeah... I had tons of doubts when making the order and changed my mind billions of time before settling everything with him. I have ordered the armor kit and blaster kit with a completed bucket ( its just too damn scary to do it myself and I don't wanna screw up a nice bucket lol) Photo and assembly Credits to the maker himself A pair of painted white chelsea at the ready. Mark is currently waiting on the blaster kit to arrive next week then the BBB will be shipped over the other side of the galaxy! This is officially my second build ( first being a Shadow Stormtrooper over at SpecOps ) When the BBB arrived, I ll be sure to post my progress here along with tons of questions (PS. I will be using an ultrasonic cutter in this build, which is also a first so please stay with me lol )
15. The boots are from Orca Bay. I got mine from here: https://www.equinesuperstore.co.uk/orca-bay-brecon-chelsea-boots.html but they can easily be found elsewhere if you just google them up. Notice the embossed logo at the heel area. The ammo pouch is a JNA ammo pouch for M56. Be sure you get one with the oiler pouch included because it's used on the shoretrooper as well. http://www.balkanmilitary.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Screenshot_261.jpg
16. Well...here comes another ROTJ CFO build I've had the armour for a few months now and seeing the other build threads that have recently start from K@nne and Stubacca I thought it about time I join the club and pull my finger out by starting the build This will be my first build from scratch...I've previously brought a ANH suit (FX) some years ago that was 60% finished to which I completed to a clearable standard. My aim is to build a replica ROTJ suit/lid with screen accurate details like the strapping and weathering.. I have started the trimming process.....I began with small steps i.e. handguards, TD parts, drop boxes and shoulder bridges just to get my confidence. I will post up some pics of my progress soon but so far it's all good.. My Armour/Kit overview is as follows - Armour / Lid with Harness (CFO) Blaster - Resin MGC E11 from CFO Neckseal - Rebelscum Undersuit - Under Armour 2 piece Boots - Chelsea boots (to be painted) Gloves - Rubber washing up gloves from CFO Belt - Polypro from CFO Holster - Need to adapt an old ANH Holster or I may do without (Many screen ROTJ TK's had NO holster so I may go that route) Voice Amp - ROMFX Looks like the ROTJ TK's army is growing from strength to strength

18. Orca Bay Brecon Gents Chelsea Boots Saw someone else posted the info up. I'm in Paris right now and I'm going to try and find a pair in the correct color. -----------
19. Orca Bay Brecon Gents Chelsea Boots

Saw someone else posted the info up. I'm in Paris right now and I'm going to try and find a pair in the correct color.
20. https://www.ardmoor.co.uk/orca-bay-brecon-chelsea-boots-ob-brecon I chose the 'Elk' color as the 'Havana' have a texture that I don't think matches the reference pics. Either way, with weathering, I don't think it'll matter which you get. And the pouch is a Yugoslavian M56 ammo pouch.
21. I've heard the the same Kman. The fact there is that seam on the front, makes them incompatible with the EIB requirements. You could use some rubber epoxy or something to close the seam but I'm fairly certain it would look terrible, not be resilient whIle troop and still not correct the poor quality of the boots themselves. Buy bass Amsterdams or another chelsea boot with no seam and paint, or buy a vetted FISD brand. I.e.TK or imperial boots. Save yourself the hassle and money in the long run.
22. Well it's time to come out of the closet and make this official. I've been secretly working on an ESB TK for some time albeit very very slowly. I'll post pictures of what I have done later today once I get a bit more time. TK kit is RWA with ESB handguards. Belt by Katie W. Neckseal and holster from Clive B. Shoes are Clifford James Chelsea boots. E11 - Doopydoos with M19 scope. Gonna start with the blaster as this was bought first ostensibly as a collectors piece (that worked out well )!!! I've not gone the promo/pugman version and this is a stripped down ANH blaster with the correct M19 scope, I have just the D Ring to attach as I'm trying to find a better one than supplied by DD. I've not weathered it as I'd like to think as a military man I wouldn't let my weapon get rusty!! The bolt detail has been removed and replaced and the bolt is now visible aft of the cocking handle. I mocked up a spring carrier and the spring itself is an accurate reproduction of a sterling spring (it was chep too!!) Scope has glass and mock target included.
23. I also had a little free time last weekend and found a 5$ pair of Chelsea boots that aren't accurate but give a good impression and will likely be used until I am finished with the rest of the armor at which time I will get a pair of TKboots. Amazing what a little leather paint can do!
24. Ah, gotcha. The 1/2" rule is perfect for nearly every piece of armor, but I'm not as sure about that with respect to the shins. I've seen threads (can't recall if here on FISD or in the Anovos FB group) where people were complaining that the larger sizes of the Chelsea/Jodhpur boots, particularly for those with larger feet, are substantially wider than normal boots or shoes. The 1/2" clearance might not be adequate in those cases. I know even with my size 10s (definitely not considered especially massive), I have more than 1/2" of boot in front and behind my shins, and it would look a little pinched if I only had 1/2" there. That opening gets bigger really fast, the larger the foot size. So if the shoes are handy (or will be), probably best to use the actual shoes for sizing, to avoid that pinched look I see so often.
Cheers
