I'd always be sceptical if a seller uses other peoples pics (that photo of the laid out parts is used by 90% of the fishy ebay sellers) and if it is not even made clear what kind of helmet or handplates you get (both are all over the place in only 3 pics!). Showing different shades of white on one set of armor (yellowed belt?) is a very strange thing to do if I want to get my stuff sold, don't you think? Also, if people make claims of "movie quality" and can't spell, I'm not to keen on sending them my money. But that is me. And have you seen the quality of the helmet detailing? That guy seems to know nothing of stormtrooper costumes. Looks like a child painted all the traps and tears and the tube stripes. I say stay away from that stuff. Save your money, read the FISD, be happier in the end. There even is a world beyond FX and AM...

The AM (former FX) helmet is not really suitable for either style; I'm afraid. It just is too far off in all proportions to really resemble either ANH/ESB or ROTJ style lids. So I guess it is up to your personal taste which style you're trying to approximate. Since the AM/FX already comes with bubble lenses, ANH Hero or a ROTJ would be obvious. There were supposed to be a few ANH Heroes recycled for ESB, but as of now nobody has really ever spotted one or even made screencaps. With the four bump ears, the ANH Hero is not really an option of course, so yeah, all that's left from a logical standpoint would be ROTJ (even those had flat lenses, not only bubble lenses).

Okay, but be sure to move the belt higher. If you can just get the bells closer towards the chest, than that would be ideal. It looked like you have really broad shoulders and that's why I thought moving them in closer was not an option.

I think the belt needs to sit higher, and almost touch the button panel on the abdomen. It also looks strangely small, the plastic belt front I mean. Is that the way the RT Mod part is delivered? And if you can, maybe get a pair of bigger shoulder bells, so they don't show as much black undersuit as these do now and sit closer to the chest piece. That is very important for a nice accurate ANH look, if you ask me. Also, all your shims look to be a different shade of white - I dunno if you can do anything about that, but since you were asking for feedback, I thought I'd bring that up as well. Maybe ask RT Mod for an extra sheet of the material he used to pull that armor? Other than that, it looks fine.

Definitely no PT lid. That much I can tell.

That looks like a great ROTJ Boba. Could be a little dirtier, but that is just a minor detail. The rest is awesome as is.

Is getting an accurately sized helmet an option? That would be the easiest way - the AM/FX bucket just is too oversized, and other than extreme internal padding I think there aren't many other quick solutions.

Am I still allowed to ask on-topic stuff that does not get deleted with all the other shuckse? If so, I'll repeat my question: how is buying a HASBRO blaster plus resin kit cheaper than buying a plastic pipe plus resin kit? Were the electronics the main factor to go for a toy gun as a base to work from? Let me add once more: Pat, your creativity and skill is obviously on quite high a level. And for what this is, this sure is a nice trooping blaster.

Just found the follow-up cartoon strip to the much-disussed "Mando comic" and thought I'd share: So much for "no bias". Screen accuracy FTW!

Weathering is fine, quite convincing. 2 things I noticed: did you "age" the grip with a metallic paint? Hard to tell in that lighting. That grip should not be too distressed and definitely not metallic as it is plastic on the "original" gun, the Sterling. And your Hengstler is sitting a bit far back compared to most screen used E-11s.

I noticed some paint chipping on your helmet, and also some serious dirt on that armor of yours. Go back and redo it, and make sure to be a little tidier this time! (Man, that is impressive. You guys really make awesome TKs!)

What's T/MC? MonCal? Never heard of that acronym in the TK world before.

Well, if the kit parts do not suffice, shimming is the only option. So yeah, you plan sounds like the only thing to do!

Since I just saw Gino is active here, maybe he'd like to share on this topic? He is the (only?) guy whose prop description mentions black screen for hero stormtroopers. Do you have any additional info, was it random like Fabien suggested, was it maybe a lighting illusion? The Han/Luke heros seem to have had silver screen, but I'm not sure about the other six hero helmets.

Thanks for the insight, Fabien! I have that same set of hero helmet reference pics and was not sure if that really is blackened screen or if it's just lighting. A lot of hero helmet pictures seem to show regular unpainted metallic screen material.

I just read in Gino's descrition of his oh-so-accurate hero lid that he painted his mic tip mesh black for his helmet, claiming that was how they did it for the movie. Never heard/read about that before... On all the ANH hero reference pics I have, no black mesh is to be seen but some pics are not very clear and open to interpretation. Does anyone have any clearer insights on this and wants to share?

The other giveaway is the frown mesh. Otherwise, that's pretty spot on. Awesome photo shoot, awesome armor!

I too always carry my trusty DLT-19 as a TK. Lately even as "Han in Disguise", but mostly in stunt setup like that Falcon search trooper. There's something about a clean trooper wearing a BFG...

That stuff shown here is a nice find, but too high to be screen accurate, afaik. I ordered the saberfrak T-track as well, that is quite spot on. But I bet that the alternatives mentioned here are the cheaper route to go.
