  1. Don't you already have another thread? Edit: Nevermind, that was in the new member section. I knew I saw that pics before. BTW, that T-visor is way too wide IMHO. And yay, now even Mandos wear TD pauldrons...
  2. Erm...yeah. Whatever. That guy has serious issues.
  3. That looks very good. Impressive!
  4. @Dan: QFT
  5. It's the passion everybody has for the movie and the costume. Everything that is held in such high esteem is destined to be bickered and fought about equally passionately, isn't it? It's not "just a boot" for the accuracy nuts, and while sure as heck it is no reason to maul each other, it is something that gets the tempers up for geeks like us. Gotta live with that! Said kinda passion is what I love about the hobby, even if it sometimes seems to get the best of us. But I'm sad to see the pics have gone because of all this...
  6. Why not let everyone who unearthed a particular detail about a costume or prop decide for himself if he feels like sharing it with the community? People in general seem to just assume recently it is a duty to not keep certain aspects to oneself. Mostly even without contributing something to the community themselves: it's easy to demand things from others if you are not the one who has anything to share. Show your gratitude to those who share and just leave the ones who don't share alone, it's that simple, to me at least. Showing up as a mob with torches on a "hoarder's" porch won't change his mind to share, will it? Maybe asking quietly and in a non-demanding way is a better way to approach someone who knows/has something you might want... That's my 2cts, I sure as heck don't mean to offend any one person in particular, I'm only trying to illustrate my point so everybody gets it.
  7. Huh, something else: it says something about "flat green" lenses for ANH hero. Bubble lenses, dudes! BUBBLE!
  8. Just saw a typo: it says "AHN blaster" instead of "ANH blaster" in the last sentence of the CRL. Also, there is an "e" missing for "08.":
  9. Let's leave that to our scout brothers.
  10. Tee hee, were they really that cheap? Hilarious!
  11. Can you explain how exactly that modified right torso side closes? Is that 3 velcro straps on each side or what solution did you go for? The moment I saw that archive pic, I started wondering what the heck was the idea behind that "fix".
  12. Just so you know, none of this was done for the prop helmets seen in the movies. They were not painted black on the inside.
  13. You got the wrong blaster, mate.
  14. Thing is, the people who go "a wee bit too far" just go to all extremes recreating the actual prop seen in the movies. What exactly is the fantasy mando faction doing? It's comparing EU custom stuff to movie purist views, that is apples and oranges. But yeah, EU custom stuff is just a free-for-all thing where there seem to be no boundaries...
  15. Yee haw, you say it like it is, Dan!
  16. Man, so am I... I never got the whole "custom Mando" thing. Bunch of hippies!
  17. That looks very, very bad IMHO. Poorly strapped and worn, and you get a $hitty blaster with it. And why does he offer it as being "original", where our armor in general is clearly always a reproduction? He's trying to imply a prop, which is hilarious for an FX type armor... Stay away from that, man. There is way better armor to be had than this.
  18. Exactly my thought as well. No velcro is the way.
  19. I always thought the electronics were the only reason people bother to mod these toys...what else do they have going on for them? The look rather cheapo and inaccurate IMHO, no matter how much modding and repainting is done.
  20. Whoa, nice job. It's us...on the Death Star! Saved that one, much appreciated.
  21. Awesome, thanks man! I'll consider this for sure. Did I mention your armor rocks big time?
  22. Anyone can walk into the archives and take pics of armor there. You didn't fool me, Stephen! Stunning, man. That is one rocking display. Have a link for such a mannequin?
  23. A fellow trooper from German Garrison. He bought the set of your armor complete and wearable. And let me tell you, he is a happy camper!
  24. There was a guy taking photos who posted awesome pics via flickr. Here's one of me that I really like, after changing to my stunt lid for the parade: He should've taken pics of Dan and me in our hero configuration...
  25. If I as Han get to fondle Leia, I'm ready to toss my stunt bucket away forever. Until then, I too prefer stunt over hero for trooping after Dan's and my weekend of hero trouble... And whoa, am I ever scruffy looking. You know, nerf-herder like almost. Especially after 15-20 hours of almost non-stop trooping.
