  1. Congratulations my Friend! easy pass!!! I would just nitpick you on painting the crotch belt bolts on the butt plate white. For the rest man.... Great Job!!!
  2. it looks beautiful!!! welcome to the ranks my friend! first comment pointer I'll give you is: go slow. rushing with the parts can be dangerous, so just take it easy and dedicate your speial time to every little piece. I'm looking forward to see this WIP, I'v never seen a ATA work in progress before! great start my friend!
  3. I will try out for my ESB vader in about a month or so. spray didn't do it for me... it chipped off after 3 troops so right now im getting all the paint off the chest and helmet and prepping it for serious pimping! I'll let you know when its done and I've trooped a couple of times.
  4. I used an acrylic and aplyied it with a hard brush. that way the piece looks like stressed metal and then I used a bit of chestnut ink wash to make it look oily in the crevices. I like my E-11 to look weathered and used.
  5. However... going into the comitment of a functional part is what's seen as going beyond the call of duty here. what's more important is to find a balance between what's required and what you like these being the lowest the first and the highest the latter. reach the requirement level and start trooping and then keep raising the quality of your equipment and armor until you reach the highest level you can get for your personal satisfaction. Cheers and good luck! P.D. please excuse any typhos!
  6. "no soldier should be rewarded for doing what's expected from him" -Petty Officer John-117, Master Chief. Thanks for the nomination, but i don't really think I've done enough to deserve one. About the staff nominations, guys, this place works because of you! if I could give medals to all of you I would believe me. Not because of you guys doing what's expected from the staff but because you go beyond what'expected and then some. Paul has been a beacon for me in this place on or off MP he's an easy leader to follow with great spirit and will to make this train roll on. Stukatrooper for his outstanding work in armor and helmets, I've learned unsurmountable ammounts with his work. Troopermaster... need I say more? Guns for stepping up to the task of keeping TE armor alive. Gundam Zepellin for his absolute willingness to help anyone in need for tips and info on armor workings and mods. Stomper for keeping the ideals of propmaking clear as water and proving that prop building can be done without price gouging. Smithy for uncompromised, realistic but completely positive feedback and opinions on anything regarding TKs and this group, he's the kind of trooper that inspires others with examples of good spirit, he likes to help and does it with a happy face. TK 4205 for his outstanding service regarding research and recreation of the best possible info for props and props themselves and keeping the quality bar as high as it can be at the appropriate time. Of Course: All of the armorers in the group, without them and their efforts the rest of us troopers wouldn't be here. I can think of more but just for starters I think these are the guys that should be awarded first line. I'm not that common a guy in this forum (i am now ) but these are the cases that have caught my eye and that have been there doing more than what's expected from them.
  7. Not really my friend. for as long as the part is represented correctly it won't matter if it's not functional. Same goes for the stock, trigger and magazine.
  8. I rather have a set that is the closest to screen accurate but without compromising the confortability in troops. I go for a balance in both. I hate flaws and bumps, flays and gaffer tape since mi ideal of the imperial army rigs is symetrical, confortable armor instead of ''movie production difficulties" armor. That's why I love my MR CE Helmet so much... it's molded perfection!
  9. I keep thinking you should lessen it a bit man, but that's just me LOL
  10. Almost There!!!!! LOL!! i'll be sure to contribute next friday (day I get paid) to help with the cause.
  11. Get them In!!! LOL remember the lightsaber (sodasaber) he did?? he was playing with the idea of the lightsaber for it. I've seen him joke and play around with starwars stuff and even say he wanted to have a lightsaber.
  12. oh man.... if only they where oficially accepted!
  13. the MR ce Stunt can definetly go with a FX.... beautiful helmet!
  14. elastic chin strap????? I painted my older FX bucket innards black because when a picture is taken, since the interior is a dark environment, you eyes wont show in the picture thru the lenses basically. it also looks cool.
  15. thanks on the warning on the buttons dude. for as long as they arive within a couple of months im ok with it. kee the work going man! you almost have it!
  16. I'll Look you up for sure Greg! thanks!
  17. you know.. you just might have convinced me to change servers man.... LOL what your character's name on it??
  18. you know what the problem is Paul? websense LOL! the websense in my office reads the fisd as "Game" categorized o I can't log in... ever! i can only check the forums at home before i go to work and after and the fastest way to check what's going on is by checking the new posts link. I'll heck the for sale area more often, promise! on to topic!!
  19. im on Legion... the nightmarish legion..... damned server! but i got fed up with it when I was already level 70.... and i just don't want to pass thru the nightmare of leveling again. believe me man if I could change the character from one server to the other I would. if you ever go into Legion look me up. My character is called Dargas. I'll be happy to adventure with ye!
  20. damn... where can I get buttons like that? i've been looking everywhere in here to no avail! By the way man, great job. It's looking very good man.
  21. I would certainly do one if it wasn't for the rancor ugly bue stripe running over the face plate. the rest I love.... but the blue scar I hate more than I love the rest of it. we know commanders changed the painting to just dull white and the only way to recognize one is if he's using a commander's pauldron wich is a shame really... there are some very cool commander war paint design on the clone Commanders.
  22. oh yeah! I stand corrected! I would definetly correct that! it looks waaaaay too deformed man.
  23. I also play on Scape Gaming. Dargas Ally Dwarf Warrior. arms DPS, almost full T5. lvl 72/73.
  24. be sure to "waterproof" the complete battery and wiring system. you don't want a short circuit going on inside the bucket man. i've heard of a couple of accidents that happened because of extreme moisture short circuits. electricity and tons of sweat and air condensation in a close environment around your head.... not the best of friends!
  25. since you already have the helmet ready the armor won't be that much of a problem. the fitting is the hardest part but if you do it with a couple of experienced troopers you'll have your ready in a few hours. my first kit was an FX and I build it and fitted it with the help of a friend in less than 4 hours without the helmet. I really wasn't rushing it as attaching velcro and fitting the armor is pretty darn easy with the help of someone. the next day after a few tryouts walking, trying to sit and climbing stairs i knew where to exactly trim the armor to stop it from pinching. that same day after the trimming and some new tryouts the armor fitted perfectly and i could run, sit and even throw myself on the flor and get back on my feet again without any help. the next day the helmet was assembled and it took me about 6 hours to complete. but since you don't have this problem you'll be trooping fast man. My second FX kit was asembled and trimmed in less than 6 hours and ready for deployment without a fuzz. Tis new armor is fitted with a Stephan Peppin E-11 blaster replica and a MR CE Stunt Bucket and it fits like a glove. The armor itself will refrain you from rushing with it if you pay more attention to the fitting than any other mod. just be sure the part fits before you glue it down and try t assemble it from the abs to the chest and legs... the rest is pretty much an easy thing. Follow NovaTie's advice and look at Dave's Garage Videos man, they're great help!
