  1. Scott.... please receive my personal thanks on this post. I?m running towards the Mark IV status too and this thread has helped me like no other really. It?s great and inspiring to see this level of dedication to the look of the movies. I already modded the frown and will be adding the two bolts to the ear pieces sometime this weekend as well as painting the abs buttons. The canvas belt will be another thing since I have to scratch build it so it?ll take me longer, but that?s not an issue for me.... time and patience will do the job. Now that I?m officially accepted on the legion I feel that there?s no rush anymore and that I can work on my armor at my own pace. Great job on your Mark IV Mod, it?s looking really great! Kudos! Vode An. Dargas TK-1845
  2. hey Jeff...check MP about the snowtrooper armor. thanks!
  3. the same thing is happening with my republic commando.... i have the helmet sculped and ready for casting as well as the shoulder bells but i lost interest in it so it is in my garage gathering dust. I suppose I?ll take the project up again sometime but I have no idea when... i have no vac table and the idea of rigging one is beyond me. We?ll see what happens in the future. Now for all the trouble you?ll be getting yourself on doing your own armor you should meassure what you are spending on the entire thing... if you don?t plan on doing any more than your own i beleive it?ll be better for you to buy an already done armor ready to be used. That?s my personal aproach on it. Anyway... good luck on the project man! Dargas.
  4. If you donn?t feel up to the task of modding a hasbro blaster the you can buy it and send it to someone who can do it for you and pay the man for the workmanship. Now I have no idea who would do that for you... I could do it but I live in Costa Rica so the two way shipping would add to the cost. take all into consideration and then take the right choice. The Hasbro thing has the advantage of size, cost and portability besides the fact that has SOUNDS!!! that?s a big plus! I?ve seen mods on the hasbro blaster that really makes for a nearly perfect replica. good luck on the enterprise man!
  5. I also like to read comments and apreciations for als long as they?re motivating and positive, even on criticism... but I don?t like fingerpinpointing on anyone. Have we forgotten what VODE AN means already? We are All Brothers ppl, let?s behave accordingly. I agree with the voting on the guidelines. It should be stablished as Policy in the forum. What?s important here is the quality of the armor that the prospects or members are wearing. Period. Everything else is a waste of time and Civilism in the ranks. That?s my 2 colones on this. Dargas.
  6. I?ll do it myself this weekend... here goes nothing!!! Wish me luck...i?m not that good with dremmels. We?ll see what happens. Dargas
  7. last night I was asked: are you able to do... pushups in that... thing? tha point in the question was the look in her eyes! jajaja another question was... can you go to the bathroom in that? and finally: is that a saint bernard dog type of first aid kit? (meaning to the thermal detonator)
  8. Amazing Work.... all of you!!! mine is taking longer than expected since the technician is taking a looong time rigging the amp/walkie/burst system together... let?s see what happens. I love the imperial emblem on the inside liner hahaha... great detail there! Vode An! Dargas.
  9. Sure... as soon as the system is completely installed I?ll ask the technician to give me the schematics to share them here. will post pics of the helmet too! thare might be a possibility that we can make them in here so we can send the thing rigged and ready to install.... i don?t know...just an idea. the idea of the magnet system is great! i?ll try to implement that today! Cheers!
  10. I love the imperial way of dealing with the subject Paul! I mean it! Comm. Dargas
  11. Hello guys! ok... besides the aerator and venting system and the amp system in the helmet my fellow troopers and myself are installing in all of our helmets an inter-comms system so that we can comunicate between ourselves internally at a 100 meter range silently (meaning without civilians hearing what we say). Each one of us bought a motorola variable frecuency walkie talkie (the little compact ones) and got the unit inside the chest piece of the armor. we got a tech-guy to rig the walkie?s "no hands" button to speak into the left side of the belt and to the headset in such a way that when not used the Mic works with the amp allowing us to speak to ppl normally (without the static burst...we haven?t been able to replicate the effect sadly) but that when we want to speak internally the button disables the amp and speaker and only troopers on the same frecuency can hear. That was the first thing we decided we had to do on the helmets along with venting and amplification systems... I kinda thought that everyone did this but while navigating thru the forums I haven?t been able to find no one that had done this mod. Is there a reason why? or is it that we are the first group to actually do this? please let me know what you think guys! I will post pics as soon as the system is installed propperly on the bucket since we started to work on that mod this week. Best regards to all. Vode An. Commander Dargas.
  12. Yeah!...I can feel the feever already but i cant start buying stuff for the upgrades...I just Bought it! jajaja I?m still paying the loan I had to get to buy it! jajaja and being honest? I love the way it looks! jajaja will change the button colors though....
  13. yeah... I can now see a lot of difference between my armor and that pic. specially in the hand guards... The Abs is different also.... another sculpt whatsoever. damn!
  14. oh it is!!! take it from me! Dargas.
  15. why? the ROTJ buttons are black or what? getting confused! jajajajaj Dargas.
  16. you have to see what a Darth Vader suit can acomplish mates!!! I?ve gotten too many kinds of indecent proposals includin one in wich the girl (a really gorgeous looking one) told me that she wanted to %$&/%$ me just wearing the helmet, gloves, boots cest armor and cape.... go figure! In here after 3 years we decided to name it The Vader Effect. as long as I have my suit on all the girls want to be around me and to do crazy dirty things of all kind to me... some of them have grabbed my hind quarters in public! but as soon as I take it off they never notice me.... go Figure again! The Vader effect! Behold:
  17. three of them are gray on each row! HMMMMM... interesting! Thanks! that was extremely helpful!
  18. i?m in costa rica and I?m struggling with the same issue on the airline ticket.... I?m really sorry to read that you?re not going. Keep striving for it and don?t give up on it dude. life could find a way to allow you to go if you really strive for it. remember man, You are a TK, the Relentless! best of lucks from all of us in the outpost!
  19. That?s all right! i guess I?ll find it eventually... in alllowing myself to be more adventurous in this forum so...jeje Thanks anyway! Cheers! Dargas.
  20. We?re sure to get the same reaction when we do our first mission on may 1st on the national amusement park. We?ll celebrate the 10th aniv of the Legion and we?ll do our first mission by getting the entire goup of kids from the house of kids with moms in jail to have fun and to spend the day in the amusement park with us. Will post pics after the celebration of course! Dargas.
  21. jajaj...good to lnow...you know guys there?s something funny in Costa Rica with the beer thing. The best and most cherished beer in here is called: IMPERIAL jajajaja... i?m not joking! that?s what we drink in here! Imperial Beer! jejeje. Whatch the pic below! Dargas. P.D. I wouldn?t dare to drink while in service! imperial Beer pic:
  22. Well I actually do have a Darth Vader uit too. but i?m as tall as a stormtrooper should be according to the movies and not one centimeter more nor less...since I live in costa rica right now I don?t have the conversion for my actual size in meters wich is 1.80 mts tall to feet. with my Darth Vader suit i measure 1.95 mts tall. heres some pics let me know what you think!
  23. ok.... having read almost all of this post i have to say just this. I LOVE MY FX! why? because is my first armor (trooper that is...i already have a vader) and because I worked it to look the way it looks and to fit the way it fits! i Love the expresion of the bucket and honestly i feel that it looks gorgeously imperial to me. My body tipe is not huge but i?m not skinny...that?s for sure, I have big strong Legs and a broad back so that really helps with the way if fits and snaps into place like if it was molded to my particular frame. THe size? i?m standard issue imperial sized so it fits like a glove. I like the detail on it and the way it moves. did I had to mod it to fit the way it should on the legs? YES... am I having problems with my tummy affecting the way the chestplate fits over the abs? YES...but i?m struggling over it to make it look perfect and already have received compliments on the way it looks on me. Myself? i really don like the TS or TS2 helmets... i have no idea why but I just Don?t!...perhaps the AP helm is the one that looks better to me from the three but I have no real Urge to upgrade the bucket since I feel that the size look good on MY particular frame. it?s a question of choice as much of you Brothers have stated. you WILL NOT and SHOULD BE NOT scolded for your choice of armor for as long as the councel accepts that the accuracy of your plastic comes very close to the real thing. an FX armor is a beautyful and intimidating sight to behold once fitted correctly so don?t feel bad if you have one and DON?T FEEL THAT YOU HAVE TO UPGRADE IF YOU DON?T SEE A NEED IN IT just because someone has something against it. I?ve noticed something Amazing on the Stromtroopers as well as Darth Vader...what really makes the difference is the level of PROUDNESS you put into your attitude while in armor... that is what really stands out in public and will get exactly what you give from them, laughs, respect, awe... you name it. The name of the game is RESPECT... help others to improve but so with respect. Respect to the money they invested, to the effort they placed on puting it together and most of all....respect to the amazing feeling that is to know that you FINALLY got your armor... The Wonder of it! Myself?...I carry my FX helmet everywhere!...like if it was my baby! to work and back to my house...to my friends house...to every single outpost meeting.... everywhere!...it?s mine and I feel DAMNED PROUD OF IT! Change what you think you should change to make it look better to YOUR EYES, that way you?ll feel even better in it and that will improove the way you act in front of the public and that?s a win=win scenario. Be a Trooper and be It Proudly, you are part of a family that really cares for it?s members and pay no mind to ill comments into your plastic, these are the minority and their opinions mean nothing in the face of the acceptance of the 80 + % of members. I Am Proud of My Armor and Damned Proud to be one of those with the BEST DANMED JOB IN THE GALAXY! Regards Brothers. Commander Dargas. 501st legion, Costarican Outpost Admin. Central America.
  24. (insert sound of blasters firing in the air) WELL SAID SCOTT!!! Dargas!
  25. yeah... the first mod I did on my armor was so that I could sit down... so that?s not a real issue with me. do you thinks there should be a problem if a trooper where to be caught having a beer while in armor? hmmmm! Dargas.
