  1. Just looking for something similar to this myself... I did a quick search on Google, and found this website, looks ideal for the threaded tube cap you used on the thermal det... -----
  2. Does anyone have any experience modding the ab plate to use 'working' buttons? Something similar to a video by Dave's Garage where he made the mic burst affect... I had something similar in mind and was curious if anyone had any tutorials on modding it before I started my own...
  3. Someone PM if you got some extra... I still have a little left before I finish my helmet
  4. Someone should do a constant run on this stuff, keep us from buying the entire roll... lol... not a bad idea, might consider it myself.
  5. I'm not sure if FISD could do this or maybe just someone that know a little more about it... but I know I sit around at my computer a lot doing comparisons and making pencil markings when I'm working on my armor... but is there a way for someone to create a webcam/voice chat room for everyone to gather in... Weather you are just doodling on some armor or just chit chatting... I figured this might be an idea to toss around...
  6. To add this odd picture, the eyebrow trim is short, doesn't go all the way to the ear...
  7. Roger that... I'm probably going to pull out a fold-out table tonight and get some good lighting over it... Give all the pieces a good look over, might even start penciling the edges to where I will cut... Do some research and double check the lines a few times til next week when I get some money to go buy a few tools to do the cutting...
  8. I've been waiting a long time for this day... My ATA armor/bucket arrived in the mail today sitting on my door step (as seen in photo #1! ) A few pictures "just out of the box" for everyone to see... I will post a few more as I start my build... I've been saving post after post and doing research more and more as I closed in on today, waiting on my armor to arrive... Wish me luck! My journey is about to unfold!
  9. Has anyone tried running the battery boxes somewhere else, other than inside the helmet? If you wanted to get real wired up though, you run a wire down from the helmet, under the neckseal, and to where ever... Less weight on the head I would think... and therefor distributing the weight somewhere else on your body... not sure if the weight in the helmet can give you neck cramps or what... I'm still a noob however, and currently waiting on my armor to be delivered, but I was curious if this could be an option
  10. Very awesome pictures and location... I'd love to visit there... Congrats on the the new outpost with the 501st!!! Can't wait to join the family myself... just waiting on my kit to be mailed... I'm on a waiting list... lol
  11. I'd like to add my 2cents... I am YET an official TK, however about to purchase my first kit soon... Over the past two years I have done light searching, but more recently in the past two WEEKS have I done extensive searching through FISD, 'sister'/'brother' sites similar to FISD, google, and other TK's that have put up tutorial websites and such... Along the way I have spoken with my local garrison and requested their opinion on what armor they like, which is best for certain conditions, best screen accurate, etc... However, my point of rambling is that the localizing of re-casters or armor making individuals should be kept how it is... Making it slightly difficult to find what you want, just proves your worthy for the journey ahead... putting something in front of you to give you instant gratification, just does not hold out to be very upholding... Now I'm not bashing anyone by saying this, but as I see it, the research should be done so that the person looking for the buy is at full knowledge of what they are buying... plus I personally think those that will not respect their buying-s would be easier differed by having to do such research... (all said and aside from any LFL conflicts to add to any reason to localize any list as well)
  12. I think I might being going for non of the above... lol... sorry, but more and more research, I'd rather put a little more money out to be screen accurate than settle for less right now... So I'm probably going with an FX/AP setup... Now just to find someone that has AP helmets... Which from my studies might be very hard, since LFL is keeping an eye out for un-licensed materials being sold... If anyone can help me with the AP helmet, please PM me.
  13. Ok, thanks guys... I don't guess my heads to big... maybe in the world of imagination but other than that, should be a good fit then I hope... Thanks again for your feedback!!!
