just got mine in the mail yesterday... im going to start trimming tomorrow.

For sure, should be gettin my ATA armor soon but ive already finished my ATA bucket. Wont even think about going F/X. Anyways, if you want to put a little blood sweat and tears and TIME then go with an ATA. Its affordable and for me was a good first time piece to build. There are tons of people on here to help you out if you get stuck and thousands of threads to help you get through any build.

The helemet is a fun build and the face plate is SHARP looking! good lookin armor and good luck with the build

Trimmed face and cap. sprayed inside with auto rubber undercoat (pics soon), came out really nice. now time to let it dry then tomorrow im gonna rivot the capnface, then cut and trim the ears and hopefully get that assembled. then itll be time for paint and finishing detail. hopefully be finish by next weekend.

one more question. if im going to spary the inside black should i do so while its apart or wait till i assemble it?

Oh i def plan on going slow... started cutting the teeth first but its time to goto work so unfortunately i have to wait to work on it later....but does anyone know how far to cut the neck line? do i go all the way to the line or leave a little more room for the neck strip?

Look what the damn mail man woke me up for....i was high upset (sarcasm). My very first helmet and an ATA to say the least. This faceplate is SHARP.

hopefully this is what my thread looks like in the next week my ata lid is getting shipped tomorrow...great job so far and i will be a virgin helmet builder as well so your pics and mikes vids will serve me well. thanks and keep up the great work

ive been doing more research on it, im assuming most guys hand paint if they dont use decals?

Has anyone ever tried to airbrush the details on their bucket? im looking at some airbrushes on harbor freight for $8-$13. i thought when my ata bucket gets here i'd try it out. im just worried the paint might be too thick for it. any thoughts?

Just thought i'd go ahead and start this thread and let everyone know im starting my first build. Just ordered my ATA Helmet and...toward the end of august i am ordering my f/x kit. (dunna if i want get the lite or full just to have a 2nd helmet even though i no the f/x bucket isnt accurate at all) So hopefully this thread will become pic intensive soon and i know all the fellow troopers will be more than happy to give their best advice. cheers, Jake
