  1. I was on the 501st site and say the thread about the Stormtrooper PSA. It is great, abut watch towards the end of the video, you might see something you have seen before on our boards. Enjoy!!!
  2. OK, I thought a little better teaser of the swag was in order, so here are pics of the the Elite swag that went out this weekend. So far, I have a total of 6 troopers who have contacted me. Here is the Aurebesh text, the FISD logo, and the English logo. The letters are almost 2" tall per line. Here is a close up (as best as I could get), of the FISD logo. This is 8" tall, and will look stunning on your armor tub, car, truck, van, boat, AT-AT, Star Destroyer, or whatever you roll in.
  3. You da man!!! I hereby dub the Sir Bedevere, knight of the round.... (wait, wrong movie) ANH Elite status approved!! Well done young man!! Paul, would you be so kind as to update Scott's status on the boards??
  4. Scott, The armor looks great. I just have to ask (in order to be consistent) for you to post a pic of the opposite side of the blaster. I can tell (I think) that the counter and mag is there in the one shot, but something clearer that shows the counter would be most appreciated. You are almost there. I am off to get all the Elite swag ready to mail out to the exiting Elites, so I will be expecting a new pic, and then a PM in short order. Well done.
  5. Welcome back Tony. Great to hear you are feeling better.
  6. This is what I did for my insulin pump: Now keep in mind this is for the FX drop box, but it works great. I just used 1" elastic, and created the "pocket" to slip it into. I go this idea from someone else using it for their phone, so you can use my idea in reverse to get back to where it came from originally (whew!!! ) I have heard of some people leaving the two piece drop box for the ANH styles of armor apart, snd then taking advantage of the clam shell set up, but I have nto seen it. Hope this helps,
  7. Here is a great example if what I use: ---------------- This goes around your neck, and holds your cash, room key, DL and CC stuff. Makes it easy to get to, and totally secure. You can even put your cell phone in here, assuming it is not from the 1990's and weights three pounds.
  8. As long as I am trooping, NO. I will even offer to continue to do this this far any other Deployment officer, should I no longer have this post in the future. AND............. If needed, I know several guys with cutters, so if something catastrophic happens to my ability to do these, I will farm it out. Good question
  9. OK, once a trooper attains Elite status, there are a few "rewards" provided. Here is what you get, and how you go about receiving them: 1) You will get two 8" Whitearmor decals to adorn your vehicle, armor box, whatever. Here is an example: 2) You will also get two sets of text stating your TK ID and your specific status. For example: TK-4149 ANH Elite These will be done in either English, Aurebesh, or one of each (your choice). Text will be white vinyl decals, 2" in height. So now, what do you need to do to get these?? 1) Once you are attain your Elite trooper status, send me a PM with your name, TKID, address, and your preference on the text. 2) If you have already been grated Elite status, shoot me a PM with the same info, and I will get you taken care of. That's it. No cost to you, and a way to show off your new found status in the FISD. These decals will NEVER be sold, so the only way to get them is by attaining your Elite Status. Thanks for playing, and I hope to be real busy soon.
  10. Jim, Well done, ANH Elite Status approved!!! I will ask the admins to update your profile, and I will get Elite pics done this weekend. Please check out the new pinned thread in the Elite section regarding what is needed to get your official Elite Decals. Well done trooper!!!
  11. OK, Mark, sorry for the delay. Elite Status granted, with one request. At some point, we would like to move from the modded Hasbro for ESB and ROTJ Elite status (due to the existing counter). The standards due state a modded Hasbro is allowed, so you are good to go per the standards. My request is you let us know if a Hasbro can be modded to remove the "counter". If not, the modded Hasbro will be removed from the standards page (your status, however, will not be in jeopardy). Congrats on becoming the first ESB Elite trooper. Well done!!! I will ask the admins to update your profile, and I will work on pics for the Elite page this weekend. There will be a new pinned thread with what your next steps are for acquiring your Elite decals.
  12. There is a cure, even for the FX buckets....................
  13. No need to start a new thread. What you have submitted is 100% all we need. I think we just need to get a decision on the standards page. If the greeblies are needed, you are all set, if not, I think you can pop them off and be set. If it becomes an option, you are set. The command staff is currently reviewing all three sets of standards for the Elite Section. I have cleaned up the language to try and make it easier for someone to follow. As per the standards today, you are golden. I just want to make sure as our first ESB Elite, we get it right for all troopers to follow in your footsteps.
  14. That's what the first FX kit is for; makin' a sandy!!! At least that is what I am doing!!!!
  15. If you are going ESB, I think you are fine!!! The "counter" on the Hasbro is barely a counter, so I would not count that. I am off to go get some elastic for my new TK, so I expect to see your Elite submission by the time I get back. As for the greeblies, we are still trying to get that hammered out, so stay tuned!!!
  16. Per the Elite standards page, a modded kenner is totally acceptable. That is what I have, and until a vote kicks it off, will continue to be allowed. Looks like all you would need is the counter!!!!
  17. Wow, I have not heard of that. Great info.
  18. Possibly. I just went through every TK scene in ESB, and there is nothing I can find to show they are there. The best shots of the E-11's and the ones Leia and Chewie have, and neither of those have the greeblies. It is possible they exist on the Snowy's E-11's, but I did not look at that. Since my job is to enforce the standards set, we will need to discuss if the standards need to be changed. My feeling is we will need to see some screen caps that show otherwise, but I have seen no evidence they exist on the TK blasters in ESB. Also, as we go over this, if we only find one in all the examples, that should not mean they are in. What we are trying to do is embody the intent of the troopers in the movie, not the one exception.
  19. On my FX kit I used ABS, and it does take a while. On my new kit, I am using CA (cyanoacrylate) glue. It is essentially superglue, and it cures in about 10 minutes. If you sand both glue edges, it is the strongest hold I have ever seen. You can usually find it a local model shops, and they also normally come in three "flavors", slow, medium, and fast. This speaks to the flow in which the glue comes out. I am using Medium for the most part; Slow on the insides of my shins for extra filling and bonding power. Here is a link to one source: ----- Hope this helps, Scott
  20. AND...... These WILL NOT be available to purchase. The only way to get some is by attaining Elite Status.
  21. OK, hows this? As Deployment Officer, I am offering these to all Elite TK's.: When you achieve your status, I will send you two 8" versions of these decals, plus two sets of your TKID, with the phrase XXX Elite in either English or Aurebesh (the XXX will be ANH, ESB or ROTJ). For those non-English speaking TK's I will also do them in your native language if you send it to me. I will be working on these for the existing Elite TK's in the next few weeks, so let's see what you guys can do!!!
  22. We moved the poll to the detachment members section, so here is the new link Poll results As you can see, by over a 2 to 1 margin, the vote was to keep the counter as originally required in the standards. Troop on!!!
  23. Oh Captain my Captain, it has been a pleasure serving with you!!!
  24. Hey!!! No fair swiping my boots!!!
