  1. Don't forget to paint the TD screws! Just kidding, Aaron...You're doing a fantastic job....Taking care of the details to the maximum...I am really enjoying your thread...
  2. Hi Alex. The "rank (black) stripe" is optional at Basic and Level 2, but is required at Level 3 and may only have one.
  3. Congratulations Dameon, welcome to the ranks!!!
  4. Hi Tim. Thanks you for your patience(and thanks for the comments about the check list). I am doing your review, and I think I need your help. I need a more clear picture of the 6 rivets on the left side. Something like this: Thanks again Tim.
  5. Hi James, and thank you for your EIB application! You have done an excellent job with the armor. Congratulations!!! *************************************************** CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of Expert Infantry. Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly; In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armour. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. -It seems that some of the screws on the ears are too tight. Reference images -The wrist openings are a bit far from the tops of the hand guards. Maybe you can move down the forearms a little. Reference images -Some new paint on the ab/kidney rivets, is an easy fix and should take you about 5 minutes Reference images - The ridges on the top of the sniper knee follow the ridges at the top of the shin(perfect), but maybe you could refine the angle a bit. Reference images *************************************************** Centurion Requirements; In this section we prepare you for Centurion. Because Centurion photos show more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here and additional photos may be required. We try to point out all that we can from what we see, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. -The Ear bars shall have only one bump painted in black for L3. Reference images - The vocoder paint could be improved a little for more accuracy (the paint on the upper parts of the vocoder should cover the tops of the raised areas completely)... A filbert style brush will help with the top parts. Reference images -Your elastic bands seem to be round instead of flat... These are fine for L2, but for Centurion they will need to be the flat type. I see that you changed the elastics (flat ones) while I was doing the revision (perfect). If you don't mind, I don't delete this (may be helpful for future troopers). Reference images -L3- A single male snap on the top right corner of the ab plate is present. Unfortunately, we think that the Han snap should be placed a little further to the edge. I can see that you made another hole for the Han snap and left it perfect, so you definitely have mad ABS skills.... It won't be a problem for you to change this one. Reference images -Your butt plate appears to be pushing upwards, maybe you need to adjust the strapping. Reference images This "V tab system" can help keep it in alignment. L3 - Drop boxes are vertically aligned with the end of the ammo belt with minimal gap between belt and box. As we can see in the photos below, they sit too far in and need to be realigned. The outside front edge of the box should line up with the end of the ABS belt. Moving them outward and applying a little E-6000 (or similar) to the back of the strap can prevent them from moving. Reference images -Unfortunately, the grip on your Blaster is an Airsoft (not the Sterling type as required in the CRL) and will need to be replaced for L3. The power cylinders are not clearly seen(but I saw the photos in this thread here ), but those may have to be modified/replaced as well. Reference images Reference images And that's all James. Congratulations, and I look forward to seeing your application for Centurion soon.!!!
  6. Hi Tim, thanks for your app. Like Mario says, one of us will be with you shortly. Meanwhile, could you please add a close photo of your thigh ammo belt (both sides, inside) to see the rivet type?
  7. Hello James. Please, forgive me, I forgot one thing. Could you please post a close photo of the rivets(6, left side of your Ab/Kidney) ?. Like This: Thank you for your patience James...
  8. Thanks for your submission, James!... We'll need you to do one fix before we start reviewing... Looks like you have a little too much paint on the tops of the teeth, (common to Anovos helmets). One suggested method is to use a toothpick with some ,NO ACETONE, paint remover. Reference images -And one last request, could you add a picture where we can see the "HAN SNAP"? Something like this: Thanks James...Your armor looks great...
  9. Hi Shawn, and THANK YOU for your submission for ANH Centurion! CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of CENTURION Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly; In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armour. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. -Just one thing to mention Shawn... Maybe you can check how the forearms are strapped to the biceps. You can see how the cover strips line up nicely on the left arm, but not so good on the right. Twisting it down about half an inch and dropping it down a little would line them up as well as even out the gaps. Reference images -We noticed that the button covers on your ABS belt are a different color than the rest of the belt, which means that you changed them out at some point to meet the guidelines. BUT, as Anovos is pretty much no longer in business and that replacement parts for that particular armor are no longer in production we understand why you did that, so we understand and appreciate the fact that you took the time to replace them!. Reference images And that's it Shawn, you did it...Outstanding job!!!. Thank you for your hard work to making your armor much closer to screen accurate. Welcome to the Centurion ranks!!!
  10. Congratulations @TheRascalKing
  11. Congratulations Justin... What is your next project? Just kidding... You're a beast, Justin ... Awesome ...
  12. Congratulations Richard!!! Awesome job!!! Welcome to the ranks #502
  13. I had a crack there too.. In that area the plastic is very "thin" . Maybe this can help you. ...
  15. Good news Geoff !!! Keep us updated!!!
  16. Hello Piers, welcome to FISD. Another thread that can be very useful: Feel free to ask us all the questions you need... Good luck with your build!!!
  17. Congratulations Dave, welcome to FISD!
  18. 1. First, I would try to re-bend the belt clips. This may be easier than you think Jacob. 2. Personally, I think it's easier(and less "risky" ) to put some abs paste, or a small piece of plastic... 2 minutes and you're done. 3. Perfect!!! One less!!! I'm sure someone else can give you more suggestions. I am very glad that you are thinking about applying for Centurion.
  19. Hi Jacob, and thank you for your EIB application! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of Expert Infantry. Overall a spectacular build!!! Just a few items in this area, so let's get to it! - The paint details on the vocoder could use some definition with a few touch-ups. You can use the same method that you used with the teeth (some non-acetone paint remover, some toothpicks and a few cotton swabs). Reference images -Just a dressing issue. Your right shoulder bell aligns perfectly with the chest armor but the left needs to be lowered a bit. Reference images -Another dressing issue here. We suggest to move the right forearm down. The hand guard is quite far away from the forearm opening. I think the glove is bunched at the wrist, so, for this reason, the forearm is not in place. Reference images - A very small detail but one that can really make a difference. Aligning your thigh and shin pieces. It's small details like these that really elevate your look. -L3: The plastic shoulder straps need to be held down in the back via a white elastic band to the white fabric that connects/bridges the chest and back piece. In the published photos, I can't see clearly if the elastic is there or not. But the position of the shoulder straps suggests me that it's not. Adding the white elastic will also help the shoulder straps to be well positioned. Reference image - Although not specifically mentioned in the CRL, the O ring should not be facing toward the back and should be more toward the top so it will need to be raised for L3. Reference images - Your butt plate is riding out and should be brought in to where it aligns with the kidney plate. I would suggest doing a strapping adjustment to get it closer. You can also add a pair of "V tabs" to the end of the plate and this should make the fix. Reference images -Moving on to your thighs back, You have a small gap in the ridges. You could fill that gap with ABS paste, or, you can also just put a small square(very small in this case ) of ABS in, so the black doesn't show through. Very easy fix... Reference image -The front of the left thigh has the same case as in the previous point. 5 minutes and you're done! Reference images -The cover strips of your calves should close right in the center with an equal amount of space on each side of the strip itself, so it seems that they would have to be detached and placed correctly. Reference images -Sniper knee plate must be aligned with the ridges on the shin. As you can see , the sniper knee is a bit lower (discontinuous lines) and should go aligned with the shin (continuous lines). To fix that, It would be necessary to take it off and re-glue it higher to match the ridges correctly. We have a challenge here but we are confident that you can do it ,and here in the FISD you can find all the support and guidance you need to achieve this. remember, we are here to help. Reference images *************************************************** And that's it, trooper. Thanks for your patience. You have a great armor, and we have complete faith that you can address the above issues. After that, I look forward to seeing your submission for Centurion!!!
