    I think boiling water might mess up the velcro but thats replaceable. Not sure if it’ll weaken the glue but I imagine it wouldn’t help glue (but what do I know). I do know I think it looks good the way it is. If it hinders you walking then I can see messing with it but if it doesn’t leave it. If you need more room at the knee you can always trim a bit at the bottom. As for the snaps I didn’t use snaps so I can’t answer those questions. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    I did a regular basic ol small brush for the buttons. As for the helmet. I got a hard hat liner from eBay which seems to work for me. I’m interested in this leeches attempt if you want to try it post pics. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    What’s your idea of affordable? All the armor is basically around the same price and it’s headed towards the high hundreds for a kit with a helmet. If cost is an issue look through the sales threads as well and see if you can pick up a set used. Most sets are still in good condition and can be modified slightly for size.
