  2. Hi Alan, welcome to FISD, when I started down this process I was totally unsure where to start, having had a good trawl through the internet I thankfully found FISD, and reading the threads Chris has shown you pointed me in the right direction.... heck..... the company that was originally on the top of my list was on the list of "who to avoid".... if it hadn't been for FISD, I would have made a very expensive mistake. I also looked at the CRLs on the 501st, that gave me an idea of what was required..... Full list if CRLs http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CRLbyname and for TK ANH stunt http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_anh_hero once I had decided who to purchase my armour from, I looked up and studied build threads both on here and on my local garrison, I also looked up EIB and centurion applications from members who had the sameness armour I wa abetting, this showed me what could be achieved... finally.... and I thought about this a lot, the hardest decision for me was do I get a commission or build the armour myself...... I rally lacked the confidence to start trimming, sizing and gluing armour, but a full commission was outside my budget..... the guys n gals on here were full of encouragement, so I dove in at the deep end and went down the self build route...... I'm so pleased I did that, the help and encouragement I got from FISD was worth its weight in gold, as was the one to one support I got from the armourer assigned to me at my local garrison (the UKG) yes i I made the odd mistake, had the odd faux pas with the heat gun, however, the experience of people on here and my local armourer made sure that my mistakes could be rectified, heck the person who has never made a mistake has never done anything... also so the camaraderie on here is amazing and helped me achieve my dream..... to own a set of TK armour.... so so good luck with your search and your build stephen

  12. Hi Alfonso, Good luck in your EIB application. Overall your armour is looking great A few minor observations if I may..... Your left shin is twisted slightly, the same happened on my RS armour, a but if foam fitted to the top sorted it out... see below This may be a dressing issue, but there is no gap between the hand plate and your left forearm , the forearm may need to move up a tad Right forearm front cover strip needs to line up with the bicep front cover strip.... again just a dressing issue Right shoulder blade looks like it needs to come in slightly , only a small amount The back of the armour seems to be twisted a bit it’s likely due to the fact that the right side kidney / ab isn’t lined up ... see pic below That should also sort out how your butt armour is lined up with the kidney TD, the end caps should touch the TD clips, see below Overall your armour looks fantastic, my comments are only minor tweaks, hope you don’t mind. Your lid looks fantastic and I love the scope detail on the blaster .... how did you do that. Good luck with your application [emoji3] I’m sure some of the comments I have made will help you with your future Centurion application Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. If it’s any help.... I too have problems with forums [emoji3].... I’m just not that technical [emoji20].... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. You have a beautiful set of armour Tom and it fits you well, I particularly like the canvas belt and the way your thighs fit. Good luck in your EIB application. You will need to close those gaps on the ab / kidney fir Centurion, but I guess you know that. Good luck [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Thanks Christine, I will let you know how I get on with ..... I was going to say the cracks in the ****..... but then thought better of it.... lol ..... sorry .... it’s a very odd British sense of humour I will try the reinforcement.... but I’ve already put some abs paste on the inside .... I could grind it out and add glued abs instead.... Thanks again [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Will do my friend.... I just need to get some good pictures ..... I’ve never taken a good picture, mind you, they are better when I’m either in my bike kit or my TK.... can’t see the face ... lol Thanks for your very kind offer [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Looking fantastic Christine [emoji3] Must admit, the magnetic shins I copied from you are by far the best thing I did to my armour, putting them on is a breeze, even if they were a pain to build. Like you I got those raised bits around the butt and kidney return edges after the hot water bath, I flattened them out with s heat iron, but it appears to have made the abs brittle, I had the armour on for an hour the other day, walking around up and down stairs, just to check all was ok ahead of my first troop. When I removed it I noticed some small cracks around the butt return edge, where I had used the heat iron, I’m currently dieting them out with abs paste. Do you know what could have caused this? Didn’t take any pics... doh Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Must admit, I love the picture you have put together, wish I had that skill Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Hi Shaun, I tried to replicate the ankle curves on each side, as they should be, but I’m a tad short (read as very short 5’5”) so I could trim them, if I was tall then I would leave them as they are . The RS snaps I was talking about were already fitted to the ab section and the canvas belt.... you can see them near the drop box elastic You can see the RS snaps next to the Velcro on the right hand side Again, you can see the RS snap against the lower horizontal piece of yellow tape Hope these pics help Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  20. Congratulations Alban and welcome to the ranks of EIB, a few minor tweaks and we will be seeing you in Centurion. Nice one Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Your build is looking great Shaun, like you I too love the wonkyness of the RS armour. I found it all came together once torso was strapped, though I did find that the snaps fitted by RS for the belt didn't hold it properly, especially if you holster your blaster, so I ended up using copious amounts of Velcro to help hold it in position. Like you I fitted inner cover strips also, it has made the limbs very strong indeed. Just make su your front and rear cover strips like up on each piece, I very nearly messed mine up by mistake. Also so the greaves for right and left leg are the same..... that confused me at first.... but that doesn't take much. keep up the good work trooper
  22. Congratulations, welcome to the ranks of Centurion:) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
