  1. Congratulations Dan, your armour looks fantastic Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Dan, I got my TK ID and clearance on the same day, but I did apply for my TK ID the week before I submitted my costume for clearance. Like you I will be going for EIB and hopefully Centurion , I just want to sort out my electronics first. Good luck mate Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. You are getting there Matt, the work you have done on your shims is amazing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Those shims are looking great Matt, you have done a great job of filling them in I also doubled up the RS elastic for the ab / kidney connection , like you, I thought two lots of elastic are better than one. It’s coming together nicely, you will find once the torso is strapped together and do a test fit, how it all sits together. Initially my arms were strapped too closely together I couldn’t bend them, so I moved the snaps a bit at a time and hay presto got the fit that was right for me, I did the same with the thighs .... I tried the armour on that much that know find it a breeze to put on... lol It’s all worth the time and effort mate, and it’s amazing when you find out your armour is cleared ... not long now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Requesting full access TK-14655 UK Garrison https://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=26472 Thanks

  7. Thank you for your kind words Sir [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. My costume has been cleared, I’m now a really chuffed TK14655 I can not thank you all enough for your help, advice, support and encouragement throughout my build thread and particular thanks to Christine aka Cricket, Frank aka Fragarock and the armourers on the UKG..... you have all enabled a dream to come true A big thanks to all of you [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Well I’ve submitted my armour for clearance with the UKG, so hopefully all will go well..... Today I’ve been to the bike show at the NEC in Birmingham...... ok what’s that got to do with TKs I hear you ask..... well comic com was also on so I spent some time there too it was great to meet guys n gals from the UKG .... although I did feel out of my depth.... the people I talked too were so nice, helpful and knowledgable and the TKs knew how to talk to the public.... I was awe struck.... really impressed with the professional way everyone conducted themselves.... yes awe struck and me thinking can I do that’?.... mind you a year ago I didn’t think I could build the armour.... Anyway some pics The RS stand UKG 501st Spent some time talking to the TKs and they all recommended me getting a voice changer for trooping.... actually it was good to talk to them .... it’s much better to hear it from the horses (or should that be TK) mouth .... as they say.... oh and their voice changers were amazing Hope you enjoy the pics Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Hope you both enjoy your new bigger apartment P-O Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Some more pre clearance pics.... Gloves Neck seal TD Boots Blaster And the belt / holster Oh and my lid... inside I do need to replace the foam The “s” seal Front Side And back Hopefully I’m there Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Thanks Frank, I did the same as you as per your build.... perhaps the elastic needs to be a bit tighter or I’ve been eating too many pies lately lol. Just waiting for the UKG to give me the ok with the pre clearance pics then I can apply for clearance Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Ive posted the following pictures on my build thread in the UKG and asked if they are ok for clearance Lid off Front Right side Right arm up (I’m not happy with the slight gap between kidney and ab) Back Left side Left arm up Action photo I have noticed that when I wear the armour the shoulder bells and biceps come out of line, so I need to sort that out, I have asked the UKG if that would prevent clearance, if it does then no worries as I’ll have to sort it either way. also the right greave digs into my kneecap so I guess it needs some padding. I hope you like them, please suggest any areas that need improving .... I do want to go for EIB and eventually Centurion..... But before I do that I need to sort out a voice changer , I have TrooperTalk on my iPhone but it keeps draining the battery ... and I’ve not been using it but it’s doing something in the background.... Also I want to replace the current foam I have only lid with a better solution to hold the helmet in place .... Oh and I want to get rid of that gap on the right hand ab/ kidney area ..... So still loads to do but hopefully I can do these tweaks as a TK and not a builder [emoji4] As I say, your comments are gratefully appreciated [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Tried part of the armour on today It fits really well and it’s easy to walk in... I’ve given the rivets a second coat of paint I’m king they may need a third.... The left greave is digging in my leg a bit, is it ok to trim the return edge to the line I have drawn? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. New buttons in place And I’ve given the rivets and screw heads their first coat of paint Almost there, just a bit of sanding and polishing to do, oh plus a second coat of white paint Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Looking great Matt Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. A little more progress... I’ve fitted an outer cover strip to the right thigh.... sorry no pic... I’ve also been working on the ab/chest fastening..... now I know this isn’t screen accurate on the inside .... but it does work on the outside..... You will recall that my chest was sticking out a bit, Rob at RS suggested that I stick the elastic on the chest and fasten to the abs brackets and leave the chest brackets as dummies .... I’ve .... well.... done my own thing I’ve made some abs brackets to glue to the chest These have been glued to the chest and the elastic also used the chest brackets, by keeping the elastic close to the chest it stole it popping out..... it was the elastic that was originally causing the chest to stick out.... It’s threaded like this Fastened to these bracket... sorry no pic And looks like this I’ve removed the buttons and painted the new ones RS gave me I’ve also taped some additional snaps on the butt and cod, this actually brings them together better than the han rivet and elastic / snap..... will it be ok to use these, if not I’ll revert to the han.... either way the han will remain in place That’s it for now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. When I was looking at RS they advised me not to use the size of my jeans as my waist size but to measure my actual waist, my jeans are 30” waist but I actually measure at 32” waist, my jeans aren’t tight it’s just that in the UK the labels inside jeans tend to be a size smaller than they are, it makes us feel good that we can get into 30” jeans and 32” are too big when in reality we are comparing 32” to 34” All I’m suggesting is if you used your pants measurement over here in the uk that would be too small. I was at RS last week (they are local to me) and they are a great bunch of people, they take a real pride in their commissions. I hope everything gets sorted for you, their armour is amazing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Thanks Frank , I will sort that chest out if it kills me lol..... hopefully I will survive Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Thanks, I plan to look at padding in the shins and thighs and yes ..... the chest..... it’s driving me nuts ..... it needs a lot of fettling ..... One thing though.... my armour has been on and off so much over the past couple of days I’m getting a dab hand at putting it on ..... so something positive has resulted from all of this Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I’ve been tweaking the butt... up to now I’ve removed 1cm off the butt... I really don’t want to take any more off..... this is what it’s looking like now.... oh it doesn’t catch when I’m walking The chest isn’t fitted properly I know It looks ok from the side but still looks big from behind.... anyway it’s easier to walk... Over the next week I aim to fettle the armour, clean and polish it , to get it ready .... hopefully.... fir clearance in the next couple of weeks..... I will do the odd update on progress I’m still getting there Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Congratulations Ross your build looks great ... if mine can end up half as good as yours I will be well chuffed PS thanks for your help and the help of ninjabiscuit and humperdingle on the UKG Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Your build looks fantastic Daniel, the quality of your armour is amazing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I’ve spent the majority of this afternoon trying the armour on, taking it off (well the torso) trimming the butt and trying it on again.... I’m not going to post pics as I still have more to do, but I’m just trimming it a bit at a time.... so I will probably be doing this all weekend..... ho humm .... I also removed the knee ammo and trimmed it down a tad, took 2mm if the top and bottom leaving the area above and below the bumps at 3mm Trimmed and sanded Close up of top and bottom Also trimmed the return edge on the inside of the thighs And these are the markings on where to trim the butt.... as I said I’m not there yet A little trim of the butt Anyway will carry on Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Foam in the shin is a good tip, thanks Frank I’m going to trim the butt slightly and also the knee ammo... as you said the other day a bit needs to come off the top and bottom I know it seems to be a lot of faffing about but it will be worth it in the end Oh I also need to tighten that elastic on the butt you mentioned ..... that’s on my to do list Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
