TK 22526 requesting ANH EIB status (RS) [820]
lucnak replied to Storm2b's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Okay well see what the DOs say regarding the belt. First I've heard of a belt being glued to the armour. I mentioned it as the photo is usually asked when it is absent. Trying to save you some time! -
TK 22526 requesting ANH EIB status (RS) [820]

Hi Ric, nice to see you finally able to post here. You can post your photos all in one post as it would make it easier to read. Anyway, you are missing the cod and butt plate attachment and a photo of your belt laid out facing up and down. You will also need to paint the screws on your TD black to meet the requirements for EIB. One other thing is a suiting up issue - one your back photo, it looks like the knot from your 1/8" elastic on the shoulder strap is visible. These should be facing down when you are dressed. I believe you are looking to get to Centurion, so I wanted to provide some feedback for that too. You will need to close some gaps: between your shoulder bells and the shoulder straps, between the ab and kidney, and between the back and kidney. Good luck! -
Based on your height, I would recommend you read:

Depending on your body type, ordering a trimmed kit may not be the best idea as if you needed to size something larger, you would have a harder time than just getting your kit untrimmed and working from there. I found that trimming helped me get comfortable working with ABS. Untrimmed is normally cheaper too.

Sha Sha's (Slow) KB FOTK Build for Short Troopers
lucnak replied to shashachu's topic in TFA Build Threads
Not sure how helpful it will be to you, but here is my FOTI build thread on the JRS: https://www.jrs501st.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=177&t=15480 The JRS is unfortunately not very active for the First Order TIE Pilots...seems like they have been encouraging folks to just post in the Facebook group, which is super unhelpful for others doing research, so I have been tring to document my build for future FOTIs. -
Sha Sha's (Slow) KB FOTK Build for Short Troopers
lucnak replied to shashachu's topic in TFA Build Threads
Yes sorry, just realized that! Confusion on my part. If you do split the back vertically to shrink, that will be quite the feat, but may ultimately end up with a much better fit. The other challenge that I've had is getting the yoke to fit on me well. I ended up having to heat bend the connector to have the yoke hug my body better, which also lead to me having to bend the chest plate to follow this new curve. An unanticipated challenge! Will definitely keep up with your build to see how it goes. There is a new recruit in my garrison working on a Phasma Jimmi build that has been ahving challenges resizing for her frame as well. Anything I learn there I will definitely share! -

Ranger Z's New Armor - ATA Stunt Build w/ Centurion Goal
lucnak replied to Ranger Z's topic in ANH Build Threads
Looks good to me, only thing we can't see is the correct S-Trim, but assuming that's what you have, I think you should be good. -
Good to hear! I looked quickly at the short live videos they posted but since it was from a 360 camera, I didn't find that I could see a whole lot. There was a photo posted on Jsin painting a thigh...anyone else learn anything new about this stuff? Hopefully those who are the first to get armour made out of these can document their builds thoroughly for the benefit of the rest of us!

Sha Sha's (Slow) KB FOTK Build for Short Troopers
lucnak replied to shashachu's topic in TFA Build Threads
I have been working on a KB FO TIE Pilot kit and I have to say that when I just had E6000 holding the back/yoke section together, there was quite a bit of flex. I was worried that bondo would crack. When I filled the seam with plastic weld, it got much stiffer and I ended up using a little bit of bondo to smooth it all out as plastic weld is not fun to sand. Also wanted to mention that the KB back section is pretty large so I ended up having the heat bend the sides inward, though that may not be sufficient to fit your frame on the Anovos kit. -
Went back in your thread to peruse some of your photos. Some observations: Your cover strips on the forearm are extending past the edge. You should trim them down. Your thighs are sitting a bit low. You should wear them a bit higher if you can. Your left shin and thigh are not aligning. Just pay attention to that when you suit up Your butt plate is coming up a bit and not sitting directly under the kidney plate. I think just the cover strips could hold you back from EIB. Didn't go all the way back to hunt for your helmet or blaster photos. Just make sure you read the L2 requirements for the CRL and check out some approved EIB costumes using RWA as well. The DOs will give you official feedback!

Blaze 462 Requesting Pre Approval Review (AP)

Congrats and welcome to the Legion! -
Regarding the shoulder strap tabs, we concluded that the screen used had a medium-sized bump at the back. Smaller than the front one, bigger than the others.

Questions about lenses for 2 different costumes
lucnak replied to ErikG96's topic in ANH (Stunt and Hero)
Hi Erik, First of all, welcome! You can request 501st/TK access here: Next, as per the CRL, ANH Stunt lenses are flat, not bubble (you may be thinking of the hero). I believe the goggles for Rey are supposed to be from a TK helmet. Not sure where to procure the bubble lenses though. Others can chime in on that. -
John9689 Requesting Pre-Approval Review
lucnak replied to Johnson9689's topic in Request TK Pre-Approval
Hi Johnson, please take a look at the overview thread for the list of info and photos for pre-approval. Your photo size is too small as it is. I suggest you use an image hosting site such as imgur. -
Should be interesting to hear feedback on working with these new materials! Plus finding out how durable they really are in real work conditions after some trooping.
-
Saw that and really hope this helps improve their service!

I had some trouble working on forearms on an AP kit too. I tried the hot water several times but it needed a pretty drastic reshaping to fit the trooper so I used the heat gun. AP forearms are just too small, in my opinion.

Think you could paint the teeth a little bit higher/lower on your bucket. Clean up between the tube stripes too to get rid of some of the smudging. Regarding the return edge, yes it's visible, but it's not a focus of attention. @Cricket seems to have mastered the reshaping of return edge here! Check out her current build here:

Looks great, as I mentioned in your build thread! Basic is an easy pass as far as I'm concerned!
