  1. In that case, I would not recommend that you removed any bumps. I believe David's recommendation is based on those who have two large tabs. The screen used suits had the large tab in the front and a medium tab in the back.
  2. Yes definitely go through EIB and Centurion applications. Fortunately the armour vendor is listed in the titles, making it easier to find good ones you can use! Also definitely use the Gallery we have here full of great reference material!
  3. Which part are you guys referring to here? The extra material on the butt plate? Though I don't recall seeing someone be denied for having it, I would say it should be removed for accuracy.
  4. Do your shoulder straps have a large tab on one end and a medium tab on the other?
  5. For the cover strip size, yes, you can make them bigger but the rest would need to increase in size accordingly as well. What I would suggest you try first is removing the return edge. A lot of people remove the return edge from the biceps. Give that a shot and then consider if you need a larger cover strip size.
  6. To an extent - I would probably not go much larger than what I suggested. If you do need to make any limbs bigger than that, it may be best to shim them.
  7. You're going to want to keep your cover strips proportional, so if you need to make them bigger in one place, you'll have to do so all over. "Standard" is 15mm for the arms, 20mm for the legs, 25mm for the backs of the shins. So if you make them 25mm to accomodate the thighs and the front of the shins, you would increase the back of the shins to be 30mm, and also increasing the arm cover strip width accordingly (in this example, to 20mm)
  8. Jenny posted about it in her thread: She did great!
  9. Hi Jewels, congrats on your approval! You can request 501st TK access here:
  10. Hi Patrick, I think Dan has made some great recommendations. Depending on how strict your GML is, I'm not sure that any of these would necessarily be dealbreakers, but they will really help to ensure you look your best! The thing that I could address first is ensuring that your biceps sit lower on your arms. The large space of black sticks out to me. Are you wearing a compression top for your undersuit? It's hard to tell in the photos since it's black, but it looks a bit baggy to me - you can see it in the armpit area coming out from your body in the front photo. Also, I use imgur as well and recommend it! Easy to use!
  11. Hey congrats! Definitely go to the Carolina Garrison forums (I assume there are forums) and they should have a listing of events you can go to!
  12. You definitely don't want it too loose, but leave a little room so that you don't feel like you're getting choked! Better a little loose than a little tight. I run wires that go under the neckseal and so I wish my neckseal was a little looser.
  13. Congrats again and can't wait to be there for your first troop!
  14. Hi Alicia, Some tips/recommendations based on these photos: Biceps going into shoulder bells: I don't think you will need to resize these. Definitely adding a bicep to forearm strap will help to keep them in place - if you feel your bicep is slipping up, just bending your arm will pull it back down. Adding these straps will also stop your forearms from rotating like in the second photo. Think you'll be good with the kidney situation. Just be aware that there's a chance your kidney and butt plates no longer align. Another potential solution is adding some foam or creating a tab system for the ab and kidney to interlock. Thighs: You could trim the tops of these down if they are just too long. Regarding rotating, the thighs seem a little large, so you could resize them, though that's a lot of work. Perhaps creating a sort of v-strap hanging from your garter belt to two snap plate in the thigh could solve this? Ab to belt: Line 24 snaps are the most commonly used. In the second photo, your belt has detached from your ab, but also your ab plate looks crooked. Perhaps there is something to tweak in your chest to ab straps? You'll surely run into new challenges as you wear your armour and it will need some small tweaks here and there! Almost there!
  15. Yeah we ask our members to apply to 501st.com and submit their photos at the same time. Your GML will need to find you in the database and approve you there. Once that process is complete, you'll receive an e-mail with your TKID!
