  1. Clever idea! I'll give that a try tonight
  2. Unfortunately because of how small I am at the waist and how much I had to reduce, it lines up with the void I'm thinking I might just pull them all together and use a ton of rare earth magnets to hold it, but not sure if holster weight would be too much
  3. Using the Tandy 24 snaps for the belt is just not working out great for me... it's a bloody pain to get the belt on, though it sticks pretty good once it's there. Any alternative suggestions for a different type of snap to use?
  4. Big box day on your birthday? Lucky!!!<br><br> The AP kit is great, you'll love it
  5. You look great! I see your biceps are riding up a bit, and that's a problem I had a whole bunch too. Do you have any strapping/padding inside of them? I had to pad mine up to make them side nicely on my arms. Also, you have a bit of overlap on your sides... you might need to make the kidney plate and butt a bit smaller still. If you look at my build thread (link in signature) I had to take mine down a pretty large amount, the picture guide might help if you decide to do that! Good luck
  6. Gas Pump Heaven also has a good trim: http://www.gaspumpheaven.com/shop/product.php?productid=16720&cat=363&page=1
  7. Hey all, With some updates to his costume fitting, as well as different accessories (space pack!, DLT-19) my husband was wondering if he'd be eligible to re-submit his costume for Centurion. Can/should he?
  8. basically only difference between ANH and ESB are the gloves, the holster, and the helmet details. Everything else is ANH since they just reused those costumes.
  9. Yes, it's approvable as long as it's done within reason and to a similar extent as the screen used alterations. However your GML might push back and cause approval to take longer if they're unaware.<br><br> I personally waited to avoid just that.
  10. If you need help/advice, feel free to PM me. I'm a software engineer by trade specializing in web technologies. The image uploader sounds cool! Biggest thing for that would be sizing/optimization, though, and any limits. For example, my phone takes pictures that end up being 3mb+ each because of size. When I upload them to the forums, I usually convert them down to 1280px max on the larger aspect, which reduces them to 200-400kb in size (so I don't absolutely slaughter anyone's bandwidth reading on a mobile network). I use either photoshop or a host service such as imgur to do it, but it's honestly a bit of a pain. Facebook I'm pretty sure compresses images uploaded and limits their size to mobile optimize... so my image would become whatever their size/compression specifics are. Hosting images quickly becomes a huge DB soak, so if you guys put an uploader in, you'll definitely want to scale/compress them! For push notifications, I'm not sure you'll ever match mobile with web tech alone. You can get HTML5 push notifications using web sockets, which works great on desktop (in most circumstances), but is absolute rubbish on mobile, because mobile devices usually suspend the browser thread to save limited RAM. You'd need a dedicated app to do proper iOS/Android push notifications, but it's not something I think is really necessary unless you're going for a dedicated mobile-only target (which FISD isn't). Event reminders might be neat, but usually they're more scoped to a limited group (ie; whoever is in my facebook group for whatever purpose it serves), whereas FISD serves the world of stormtroopers, so it's probably not a feature you'd really need nor be able to leverage best. If you ever need help on any of this stuff, don't hesitate to reach out! As I said, FISD actually does a pretty dang good job on mobile performance compared to a lot of other sites I visit.
  11. For me... Integrated image uploading and scaling. Event/reminders. Push notifications on replies. Threaded-conversations within comments. And above all else, mobile optimization. FISD is actually one of the few message boards that actually is usable on a mobile device, but even then it's a bit lackluster for trying to view images or quickly navigate between pages. Many other message boards I frequent are straight out of '98 and have awful performance on a phone, so facebook serves better for casual discussion when I'm away from home. (And no, Tapatalk being a thing is not an excuse to not make a mobile-ready website forum in 2017 for anyone building something new )
  12. Good to know, cheers! Good Pauldrons ain't cheap
  13. Actually, as this genuinely affects me... does the change mean my HWT (approved about two weeks ago) cannot troop at canon events without me purchasing and fitting an orange pauldron, as I only currently have a white one fitted to my costume?
  14. I think it's still to be determined... though Orange will definitely be required above basic (as it is currently). I'm also no longer basic approvable due to pauldron lol.
  15. I haven't posted here in a while but I have to say Christine your progress has been fantastic to watch. Thanks for contributing such an amazing thread!
  16. If they do I'll be adding mine... right now I feel like this
  17. There are no non-orange pauldrons in Battlefront 1/2 (the source the CRL is primarily from). There's also no lights or any dynamics in the backpack model from the game. There's also only the scout pistol and the rocket launcher... so if we really want to get knit picky, most of the weapons people have submitted with shouldn't really be on the CRL. There are however arguably other appearances of the HWT... My 2 cents: Move the TD to optional. Move orange pauldron to EIB Move leather pouches to Centurion Three pouches required for Centurion Leave button color ANH style, maybe EIB with the black coloring. Take out wording for belt holes. If they're covered by pouches that's fine. Safe to assume antennas are going, and we're not touching weapon approvables?
  18. That's enamels for you... I just did mine thicker. I find if you only brush stroke in one direction it helps too.
  19. Looks great Ahmad! Can you please post a picture of your sniper knee alignment from both sides on your left shin, and a closeup of the rivets on your thigh ammo belt? Those will be needed for application review. Good luck!
  20. It just means you need to use it as an ESB blaster for your ESB stormtrooper next, right? You've done absolutely fantastic on addressing the things pointed out Solomon, you're going to have one fine looking kit and breeze through Centurion!
