  1. Check out the backs of my thigh/shins, Centurion approved: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/39147-tk-20466-requesting-anh-stunt-centurion-status-ap/ Some pictures on where/how much I cut in my build thread: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/37704-alays-anh-stunt-build-ap-first-build/page-8#entry516898 This was done by some actors in the movies too: The other two (tops of thighs/forearms) I'm not sure about, but as part of the Centurion/EIB requirements is fitting I'd assume that reasonable adjustments for wearing and fitting would be okay. I'd wait for someone more knowledgeable than me to chime in though!
  2. I found some humbrol enamel thinner, added a few drops, mixed it up, then went over the ears with about 5 thin coats until it finally became nice and brush-stroke free. The darker color bits will probably be easier!
  3. Just got mine and they're beautiful! Cheers!
  4. Can I use thinners with enamels and not melt the ABS? I heard they tend to be very rough on it... which did you use if I might ask?
  5. Hey all, quick question. I'm trying to re-paint my husband's helmet with Testors 1138 enamel in the frown, but it's continually coming out with brush strokes... I don't think I'm very good at it haha. Is there an equivalent spray paint I should use instead? Same question for the abs; is there a spray paint I can use for the blue and gray that matches correctly?
  6. Thank you so much for taking the time to review my build!
  7. May I ask where you took your photos? They came out fantastic and the lighting is spot on
  8. It's worth noting that costume "approval" doesn't transfer with a costume between people, so you'll have to talk to your GML to get the costume approved on you (and make any necessary adjustments to make it approvable).
  9. Entry 3: Star Wars Reads day at Fairfield Public Library Date: 10/15/2016 The Fairfield public library was hosting a fantastic event for the kids. A scavengerhunt, the chance to build your own lightsaber out of tubbing, various crafts, and a raffle for fun prizes. They asked the CTG to join up for some on the scenes baddies! A fellow TK and I were able to try and recruit some new Imperials! This little girl tackle-hugged us both immediately! Made us promise we'd be there next time! Heart meltingly adorable! Overall a fantastic event. The Fairfield library did a great job in making a memorable and fun day for the children of the community!
  10. Good to know! Maybe I'll sneak it out for the Troop tomorrow morning!
  11. It's too bad too, I love my SE-14r... Might have to get a Hero helmet soon I guess!
  12. Wow! Awesome! What are the red tops made of? Cardboard screwed ontop?
  13. I saw similar in Target called "Media Storage Box" Not the right sizes but that could be another name to search for
  14. With enough willpower anything will glue to anything! But I personally just use the hard shell ones with nomex gloves. They're more comfortable in my opinion.
  15. Very nice build! Your lense holders are very sleek looking!
  16. Might give that a try on a box as well. Definitely don't want to mess with approval though. Already doing both is paying off... look at what was $3 for 2 at Target?
  17. Hey all, figured I'd start up a thread while waiting for parts to ship. My husband and I will be making HWT backpacks. I'm going to roughly use the build pattern laid out by Ukswrath because it's awesome. So far storage contains, oil pans, and antennae are inbound. We'll be doing a lot of the work at an armor party next weekend Since there's no pictures yet, I thought I'd start it off with a question; has anyone plasti-dipped the backpacks before scuffing/weathering? It might give a really neat texture.
  18. As others have said... I nearly bought pre-built but ended up going with a kit. It was hard work to figure everything out, and definitely a process, but now that I've made it I feel so proud of it. I'm already working on a second now with my husband. If someone as inept as me can do it I believe anyone is capable of it! There's so many great resources here on WhiteArmor If you have your heart set on buying pre-built, I'd definitely check out AP or RS. Both makers sell pre-built (I believe... might have changed since I inquired) and are both great sets. Don't gamble with Ebay.
  19. You can pick up something called "Pet Mesh" from Home Depot. Like $9 for a giant roll that you can do every helmet you ever come across 4 times over and never run out of
  20. Who did your pauldron? It looks slick! Great build
  21. Haha thanks! Hoping to convert this to a Centurion HWT after I get this approved as a stunt... These might be the last photos of it clean! Thanks! :3
  22. That DLT-19 is BEAUTIFUL! You look great Trooper!
  23. Finally buffed out all the nerf dart marks... time for Centurion! http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/39147-tk-20466-requesting-anh-stunt-centurion-status-ap/ Hopefully I got everything there. I took in the wrists a bit more but honestly there's not much more I can take off without completely removing that last indent button. After that... I think I'm going to start a conversion to Heavy Weapons Trooper
