Thats pretty sweet, make sure you post that on the blizzard forum, they'll love it
  7. CA stands for Cyanoacrylate, and is primarily used for for small prop assembly and other quick fixes, it is a chemical that dries extremely fast. This is the kind everyone is talking about: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCX50&P=FR&gclid=CM6PjpCBpM0CFQdqfgodlNkNxg I have an ANOVOS kit and i used some CA glue in some places, but let me warn you that even though it may seem difficult with E6000, if you dont know exactly how you're going to hold something together while it cures, it will probably ruin your armor if you use CA glue. Not to mention it will instantly bond your skin together if it touches you. It also makes a strange semi gloss coating on the armor, which i can only assume is some kind of oxidizing side effect on the plastic. In other words, use at your own risk. Heat only really works for bending parts. I would not recommend heating plastic in order to make it stick to other pieces. Here is a thread for heating armor : http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/35086-ukswraths-anovos-tk-build/page-34#entry472795 My clamps look like this
  8. When they label something as Q2 (though it could mean something totally different) they usually mean that it is in the midst of a second tier ordering process. So if you order it now, there is a possiblity it won't show up at your door until either December or January 2017. It's funny because you think I'm joking, but thats how they work. I ordered something in June of 2015 and it didn't show up until April 2016
  9. Alternative source for you: https://trooperbay.com/abs-plastic-extension-strips
  10. It is best to go with a curve so that it doesn't crack at the center of the corner. Concave corners on abs is just asking for a split sooner or later
  11. It seems they've already opened new items. Several in fact, not just for their SW line. I believe the run for an FOTK ends later this month
  12. There is a new payment plan option for some of their items that they introduced. If you're having money issues, maybe look into that. I've read that they have several payment plan options so it might be worth it, especially for an FOTK
  13. E6000 is no where near caulk texture and hardness, especially in larger clumps and after the 24 hour cure time. If it comes out from under your cover strips it is super difficult to remove if you wait until it cures. Also, if you pull too much out it can basically undo what you've glued because its somewhat like rubber once it's dry
  14. https://www.etsy.com/listing/192791479/star-wars-stormtrooper-e-11-blaster-prop?ref=shop_home_feat_1 Got mine here. Super great quality but it's not a hyperfirm, i still troop with it though and it isnt very heavy so its perfect for me
  15. I used CA glue (zap-a-gap) on the insides for reinforcement on the arms, but E6000 on the fronts and backs of leg pieces and arm pieces, then CA for inside rienforcement again. E6000 is tough to clean up on the outside IMO, but is great for sturdiness
  16. I haven't shimmed my shins personally, but the process seems kinda complicated mainly because (im assuming) you'd want a piece of plastic that is the same length as the back of the shin. If you have any extra armor shreds that are near that length, all you'd need to do (in my theory) is glue half on the inside then velcro the other side and you'd be good. Goodluck though!
  17. Where do you plan to get your armor from? Im curious because im doing research for a phasma as well
  18. Before you settle on that amount of money for this kit, check out this http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=245993&highlight=TFA%20armor
  19. I wouldn't pay that much money for the armor, considering ANOVOS doesn't have the 'greatest' track record. Then again, i wouldnt buy any amount of plastic for that much, let alone if it was fully assembled
  20. I don't know them personally but i know of people who've been approved with the anovos helmet. Right off the bat though, just looking at the seller "star wars"..? I personally never buy helmets off amazon or ebay, only through person to person or from a licensed seller. My 2 cents
  21. Here is something that will help if you get a little lost, http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31404-supply-list-for-your-tk-build/ Good luck!
